I live very close to Barangas and their location overlooking the lake is great, but I find that I don't go very often. It is a beautiful spot on a sunny summer evening, but the food is mediocre, the service is spotty and you end up paying for the location.
With an improvement in the menu and better service, this place would be perfect, but I can't recommend it. If you want waterfront, go to Pepperwoods, Ema's or the Waterstreet Cooker in Burlington. -

I've been going to Barangas over the years (every Sunday night back in highschool for the hot patio dance party...lol) and am sad to see that this place has gone down hill bad.
I was at Barangas this past Friday to have some appitizers and drinks and enjoy the gorgeous view. They have a huge patio which is really nice overlooking Lake Ontario.
Sadly, I found the experince to be really poor overall. Service was terribly slow - took about 15 mins to get one beer and three pops and about 45 mins to get some dips and cut up pita slices - and quality of food has deteriorated (rotten tomates were sent on a club house sandwich my friend ordered). In additon, by looking around what was going out to other tables, I noted portion sizes have decreased and prices have gone up.
It's a nice venue, but I don't think the food justifies the pricing - you are paying for the view really. My suggestion - drive 10 mins down the road and go to Spencers in Burlington. Better food at a similar price point and you're looking at the same lake.. ;) -

I've been here for a couple of work functions, once during lunch, and once immediately after work. They have a decent volleyball setup here.
The best thing about this place is the view, because its right by the beach. So on a nice sunny day you can sit out on the patio with beers and its great. Some nights they have music and a club atmosphere. The service isn't great, but it could be a one off. I think this place really differs depending on the time of day you go.
