This place is wonderful great music and vibe. The owner hangs out and is super chill about all things music related. Rules! Also no one remembers you ever.

This is definitely not a tourist-level dive bar, but one for aficionados of ambiance with a minimal threshold for social comfort.
The bar is accessed through a grafitti-filled alleyway off Water St., and then up a narrow flight of dark stairs. You emerge on a rather interestingly appointed little room with a tiny bar, a pool table, and some tables and stools along the wall.
It's one of those bars where everyone knows everyone, and a general air of underground seediness prevails. If you don't mind getting suspicious stares from colourful locals with no visible means of support, and aren't the type to frantically clutch at your purse or wallet when a man without a necktie passes you, this place is worth visiting late, late, late into the evening. If you go anytime before 2AM you'll probably have the place to yourself, but it fills in towards dawn...
