I love reasonably priced boutiques with cute clothing and jewelry! Banshee is included in that generalization. They had some adorable items for good prices, but what put it over the top was the 40% off rack (4th star). They had some cute things on there! I saw a cute delicate purple floral dress with sleeves on it and when I saw it was my size, I HAD to try it on! It looks great and it was only $22 before taxes! The only thing was that one of the little threads that is the belt loop was ripped so I asked the sales woman about it and she said because it was already 40% off they couldn't give me a bigger discount (which is not what i was looking for), but that they could sew it back on for me (which WAS totally what I wanted)! That give Banshee its 5th star. The service is great.
Plus they have some awesome costume jewelry, some locally made, that would be great as gifts of for yourself if you want, and they aren't going to dent your wallet at all! You can probably find a necklace for under $25 and earrings were around $8. Too bad I didn't need anything... -

I stumbled across this little shop wandering around Commercial Drive during my Vancouver trip. It's cute, but not quite perfect. Banshee offers an array of clothing and accessories, and I enjoyed looking through the racks for something fun. They had a great 3 for $15 underwear deal, which I quickly availed myself of, and in looking at the business card I took from the shop, it seems like they have some sort of loyalty program which gives you a discount after a certain number of purchases. It'd be a great deal if this shop was worth coming back to. :-/
The lady behind the counter (the owner?) seemed kind of uninterested in my presence, even when I decided to make a last-minute purchase at the register. It wasn't hostile, but definitely wasn't friendly either. After looking through their merch, I'm thinking this place normally trends a little older, but it's no reason to borderline ignore me.
The coup de gras was the fact that the hair flower I bought disintegrated the first day I wore it. Sadface. This was the first one I purchased in-person and not on Etsy, and it failed the practicality test miserably. Sorry Banshee, the only screaming about you I'm going to be doing is out of frustration--which aren't shrieks of delight.Listed in: Fun in Van-city

This shop was great when i lived on Commercial Drive.
The pros
-inexpensive items
-funky selection
-loyalty program
-clearance rack i have gotten some fantastic deals
The cons
-the staff are never friendly, and wont even say hi!
-parking is slim to none (better off to walk here)
-some items are faulty eg. i had a skull watch that had to be exchanged 3 times before it broke and i was convinced it was not to beListed in: Downtown Vancouver, Shopping!!

This lovely little shop carries just about everything a woman could need. My favourite part of entering Banshee is the anticipation of finding something interesting and unique, and most unlike items from other shops along Commercial. Not to be disappointed, I entered Banshee for the second time to find an entirely different inventory of goodies!
From quality wigs ranging in price from affordable to expensive, apparel in varying designs for the mature lady to the young working professional, racy leg wear, hats, jewellery and a great selection of practical and otherwise lingerie items. The staff is always pleasant and helpful, as well as being wise to the trends and what women want! It is always an adventure to enter Banshee! -

This is an "OK" little store but I agree the service could be better. I bought a cute little wallet there recently and the clip demagnitized all of my credit and bank cards. Huge hassle and something the buyer should be considering. I find the selection on and off but you can get reasonably good deals.
