COOKIE MONSTER BEANIE!
Awesome and truly needed if you're in the Toronto/Canada area.
Awesome store with kick@$$ shirts and jewelry. Hot blondies that rock with Canadian accents.
What else could you ask for?
Overall, two thumbs up! -

Bang-on is a tattoo parlour for your tees!
Pick a item, style, colour and create a witty message or choose from their pre-made decals. hadn't been to Bang-on in forever and to be honest, it wasn't as magical as it once was (probably because I no longer wear t-shirts).
The back area has an interesting selection of vintage good and flashy M.I.A. inspired pieces. The real winning find in the "Porn" sweater, which is your typical hoodie with (you guessed it) porno pics! At a reasonable $39, it's definitely a great gift for any conservative on your Christmas list!Listed in: God save the Queen...…

My brother and I constantly battle each other every birthday and Christmas in an attempt to find each other the dumbest/crassest/coolest t-shirt. I've no idea where in Canmore, Alberta he goes, but I bee-line to Bang On whenever the holidays are upon us.
On the trendy shop strip of Queen Street West, you're presented with custom-printed t-shirt samples and cool accessories that will more than satisfy your need to be seen as "ironic". The run of plain t-shirts are ample and the catalogue of press-on designs and lettering are massive. It's a place you could easily lose a laugh-filled hour in.
Not only do they do t-shirts, but you can also get baby clothing. Fantastic stuff can be put on the front or back of those. Though my buddy thought it was hilarious, his wife still won't let me come over since I gave their newborn a one-piece with the words "They Shake Me" on the front. Pick your tee, grab your iron-on, and then get ready for you mom to ask whether she wants to know what a "Cleveland Steamer" is and why it's on the front of your shirt. Hours of amusement. -

I remember when I was in high school, and I wanted to make my own shirt, I went and bought iron-on letters at Wal-Mart and did it myself.
Bang-On gives kids today another opportunity to be lazy, with pre-made t-shirt designs that you can "customize", or you can actually get creative and do something original. Exactly the same kind of deal as a lot of other stores around, particularly Exile in Kensington, but just a central location on a touristy strip of town.
I'm pretty sure this place is a chain, because I think I've seen a location in Ottawa and possibly Montreal. And the Toronto location isn't bad, I'm just bitter that my high school efforts can now be accomplished so easily. Sigh.
If you want to make a funny t-shirt, come here to do it. They also have racks of fun sunglasses and belt buckles, good gifts if you are gifting for the ever-fickle teenager. -

If I see another "The Hoff" tee-shirt with a picture of David Hasselhoff on it, I will rip it clean off the body of the person wearing it. Same goes for tee-shirts featuring the Cookie Monster or Elmo as gangsters or any man's tee-shirt with the word "Tits" on it.
Having said that, Bang-On do sell some funny prints, but really? They're getting stale. As are the trucker hats they sell and the wacky sunglasses and the belt buckles.
If you're looking for funny FRESH tee-shirts, I'd recommend Threadless (online).
Plus it's expensive to get a shirt made at Bang-On! You can buy a bunch of iron on transfers and do it yourself if you've got a message in mind.
Note: It sounds like I should be giving this place two stars, maybe even one star....but then I saw that they sold Mexican Wrestling masks and decided that that at least was worth another star. -

Bang-On! was a revelation when it first opened. I think that this was still in a world that had not yet been completely oversaturated with slogan-emblazoned clothing, but who can say for sure? A world in which American Apparel t-shirts were not yet featured in their own store down the street and seemed like a great, well-kept secret (okay, now *that* can't be right...).
Over the years I have purchased many great, iconic transfers of great, iconic icons like David Bowie, Blondie (yeah, I know, real original), and Elvis Costello (which I was very excited to find), and had them transfered onto a candy-coloured shirt of my choice, while I waited!
As I said, the thrill packed by the power to write funny stuff on your shirt has been dulled a bit by the sheer, oppressive volume of shirts that already come that way- pretty much any way you can imagine- but it is still really fun to go in and do it like they did in the olden days. I dare you to go in and try to choose just one iron-on out of the bunch, cuz I guarantee you'll be in there at least 5 times as long as you were planning to. -

If I were back in high school, Bang-On would be my paradise, next to It Store knock-offs and places that sell posters of Fall Out Boy and Simple Plan.
This place is so colourful it feels like I've just walked into an adult version of a preschool playroom. And I admit, it's fun to look around and check out the crazy accessories. I've bought some cheap oversized sunglasses here (Halloween costume! Honest!), but that's pretty much it.
The purpose of Bang-On is for gifting and to provide vintage looks for those who hate rubbing their armpits against pre-soiled shirts. Though the idea of t-shirt transfers sounds great, it smacks of grade 10, when I dropped off posters and photographs at Black's to do the same thing with more effort. To do this now would feel like I'm revisiting my years of insecurity and trying to prove something. Why pay for this, when I can stick up posters in my cubicle and write the names of my favourite bands on a pencil case? Pshaw!
No! I will not let my personality be boiled down to an illustration or a band name! No!
...but then again, the floppy disk and Hustler Squad movie poster t-shirt designs are pretty funny, and would certainly give me bonus points from the NPR crowd. Hmm. [stroking chin]
You haven't lost me yet, Bang-On. -

Walking into the store is a bit overwhelming, it's like... OMG! Where do I start? Haha, flipping through the catalogs with friends can be real fun as you find prints that induce nostalgia and whatnot.
The Queen St location has a no-nonsense attitude in service. My shirt was done in less than 5 minutes and I was on my way :D Do remember to ask for a how-to wash slip so you can preserve your shirt for a loooong time.
There are also seems to be a price difference between the retail store itself and their website; the latter is cheaper. -

Bang -On has two stores in Toronto, the Queen St. The Queen one is by far bigger with more selection.
They have tons of books of iron on decals that you can choose from to make your own shirt.
Or, you can pick letters and make your own ironic hipster tee
