I agree with the other review. The 'Voy' is the spot to sneak about from. The connected 'tavern' is where you meet the locals -- employees from all the other shops and hotels in Banff frequently meet here for fun and 'transactions'. You will love it. The Motel itself is pretty together -- not seedy, like a city dive, but for Banff, it's clean and basic. Enjoy the people you meet here, you will keep in touch.
Trust me. Worth going out of the 'bubble' for the experience. Inexpensive, too! -

Hubby and I always stay at the Voyager when we're in Banff. Why? Because it's the most inexpensive hotel in town and we are cheap.
The very basic of basics. Kind of a sloppy reception area. The parking sucks. The pool, hot tub and sauna are awesome. Best of all, the lobby bar stays open wayyyy late and there is a liquor store on the main floor.
I can put up with all the riff raff when I realize the savings.
There is a decent restaurant, but we hardly ever eat there since Banff avenue offers so much more.
