    VIBE
It's on Bloor Street so it's impeccably clean here. I like the set up on the main floor. Not sure how I feel about women's being in the basement.
Service is nice. Unlike other stores, associates at Banana Republic will actually get your something if you need it and ask you how things are fitting.
But then there's the pitch of a buy a fabric bag and save the environment: only $10. Not when I'm trying on clothes. Come on.
Friend sat in a comfortable chair while she patiently waited for me as I tried on stuff. Lots and lots of mirrors and comfortable fitting rooms.

A NOTE: For February and March, 2012 if you make a purchase you will get a 40% off coupon on one regular priced item. Dates: Family Day, and two Weds in March. SMART idea. *I guess they're losing money? But super steal for regular customers!

    THE GOODS
Good for work basics. I got their sloane fit pant. It fits the "bend" test, is high waisted and good through the leg. But dry clean only. Sigh.
Perfect work pant! On top of it, as of Feb 2012, it is 30% off so under $100!
I like their petites section. I never considered myself "petite" but I like the options there.
Their Mad Men collection missed the mark. I think they have a re-do. More colour!
Bring in the burgundy sheath a la Joan Holloway.

    OBLIGATORY CATCHY REMARK
A good base for classics. Oh, and sometimes you can get a great coat here!

Banana Republic is my "go to" place for decent quality work attire, mainly because they have a really great "petites" section and it's hard to find stylish clothing made in petites anywhere else.

Although overpriced, Banana is part of the Gap group of companies and they ALWAYS have great sales. They usually do a 40% off everything 3 day sale once every 6-8 weeks or so. I refuse to pay regular prices but 40% off and the prices become quite reasonable.

The dress pants here in particular are always really well fitted and last long. Worth the $$.

The waits at this location can be somewhat freakin ridiculous during sale times. I think I waited 20 minutes to try stuff on and another 20 minutes to pay. But I guess people just go crazy when their are sales.

I don't like the set up at this particular store - lots of the good stuff is in the basement level, who wants to go down there? But that stuff upstairs and put the menswear downstairs, really!!!

Why, thank you, Katy Perry look-a-like, I do very much enjoy being treated like a nobody even when I'm bringing you business. There are such things as manners and etiquette, and you clearly lack them in every possible way. I hope you go back to being a full-time Katy Perry impersonator and never return to customer service, especially in stores that are supposed to be customer-oriented.

    Meh.

What a huge disappointment! This location really let me down with their  summer staff. It was obvious because she didn't know what she was doing. To top that off I didn't even receive great service let alone a 'hello' or 'how are you'. Just take, scan, payment, and get lost! Forget you, Katy Perry look-a-like! I will just go elsewhere for my shopping.

Shopping on Bloor Street is always a wondrous activity as a tourist.    They have the Roots Store, Louis Vitton, Tiffany's and of course one of my favorite clothing lines - Banana Republic.

As always BR on Bloor is on top of their game with attentive service.   This makes it easier to shop and pick out that specific wear for my events - pants with tops for dinner, pants with tops for casual, and pants with tops for formal.   The selection of men clothing will differ in Canada, so I'm always looking out for the hot styles that can't be found in California.      The only major downside was trying to accommodate all my new clothing into my luggage - dayam airline weight limit.

Tourist Parking:  Since BR is on Bloor Street, I suggest parking at the local parking garages.    Meter parking is available although its pretty much a pain in ass like San Francisco.
