If you're looking for a nice place to chill out away from the maddening crowds then try Balzac's on revitalized Queen Street (north of the Falls/Clifton Hills right off of River Road within walking distance to most of the B&Bs). I went every day for a week while on vacation in September and every time the coffee was strong, hot, and good. And, the White Pepper Walnut biscotti is to die for! Balzac's is in a renovated historic brick building that has plenty of seating and usually plays a mix of jazz and good music to chill by. There's even a patio for those late Spring and Summer months when the temp climbs to above 50.
