For the Durham Region, this is most definitely as good as it gets. The Maltese hall was formerly across the street, and I've been a customer at this bakery since as long as I can remember. I have no complaints, as I am a regular and enjoy purchasing fresh everything from this wonderful bakery & deli.

    Family owned, and friendly staff.

Great spot for lunch, or a coffee. Today, I enjoyed The Baker's Table with an old friend, had a double shot of espresso and a slice of tiramisu. Delicious, as always.

I'll add more of my favourites to this review later on...

Half of the store is bread and pastries, half is a hot deli.  What do you feel like today?  Doesn't matter, you'll find something delicious at the Baker's Table.  Making sandwiches at home?  Stop by and get a dozen rolls for $3.

A terrific Bakery and some pretty good lunch options from their deli counter.

Unfortunately bakeries keep closing as grocery stores expand and include bakeries within them, often with dubious results. This is family owned and very Italian with a ton of variety.

I enjoy their veal on a bun but will also get Chicken Bruschetta on a bun if they have it.

    Nice spot...give them a try.

My third review in a row of an Oshawa spot south of the 401...aka the south shwa....the nasty part....

This place opens before dawn.  Everything here - amazing.  I have yet to have something from this place that doesn't knock my socks off.

The location is right off the Ritson exit, and very close to my parents house.  Their bread, buns, veal, deli meat, donuts, mini cheesecakes, lemon loaf, cookies, basically everything - is amazing.

You can also get large orders here.  I am going to keep that in mind next time I have a family thingy in the shwa.  You can get a fruit or veggie tray here cheaper than at the local Loblaws.

The staff here are amazing - super friendly and helpful!  Extremely clean, just all around awesome.

Go here to get your panettone at Christmas time!!!  Slice it up and toast it - love it!

I live in Ottawa, but occasionally (not enough for my mother!) visit the Durham Region to visit family. One of the stops I absolutely have to make while in town is at Baker's Table. This is a wonderful Italian bakery, grocery store and coffee bar on Bloor Street, just off the 401 in Oshawa. After tasting their delicious cappuccinos, you will wonder why the swill produced by that other chain is all the rage in Canada. Besides the coffees, they sell yummy desserts and home-made pizzas. And, you can take home all sorts of hard-to-find European products, such as cookies, crackers, juices, pops, and spreads. The ambiance ain't much to talk about - it can get a little crowded if you want to sit and enjoy your drink and food. But, everything is delicious, so you need to go and take the risk.
