    -Order the poutine.
    -Proceed to the condiments.
-Squirt garlic sauce all over poutine.

    An update:

After reading my review, the owner of Bada Bing contacted me to give them another shot. Though the offer of a free sandwich was tempting, I can't eat the wheat (as I mentioned in my first review), so I once again opted for the bowl.

Now, call me crazy, but if a business owner wants to win over a slightly unenthusiastic customer, one would think that said owner would ensure that the second experience be above and beyond. It, unfortunately, was not. Yes, the bowl was free. And yes, the operator of the truck did throw in a classic cheesesteak sandwich for my gluten-eating friend in addition to my bowl. But, no. No, the meal was just as bland and greasy as the last time.

My sad bowl was filled with shiny parboiled rice, scantily scattered with tiny chunks of veg in the form of cubed carrots (possibly of the previously-frozen variety?), and the same bland meat.

    Sigh.

I really, really wanted to like it. Really! But I didn't. And neither did my friend. So again, points for reaching out and trying to better the situation, but without the promise of more flavour and less grease, Bada Bing is a bit Bada Bland.

Not really impressed with this "Animal" poutine. I realize it's street food but is the recession so bad that a half slice of Kraft singles substitutes for real cheese curds? And the secret sauce is just warmed up thousand island salad dressing. Come on guys, you can do better.

Bada Bing...good location...service is average...had the cheesesteak and poutine. The poutine was really good...the sandwich was a touch above average...the bread was a touch soggy...maybe some attention to get a better bread would help...over all it was a good but not great experience

Everything and everyone deserves a second chance in life and I am glad I gave Bada Bing another try. They definitely stepped it up by providing a substantial crusty bread that didn't fall apart...made everything taste twice as good. Real winner. The garlic sauce is the kicker and the meat and cheese is of excellent quality and it is apparent in the taste. Thanks guys, great Philly cheesesteak!!!!!!! I will be back.

I came here for lunch and got the cheesesteak and animal style fries.  The sandwich has no taste to it so I added lots of hot sauce just to get taste.  The meat was bleh, I would rather go to american cheesesteak on davie.  The animal style fries, well it's not the animal style fries from In-N-Out, I was rather disappointed.

The hubs brought home dinner last night. He ordered a cheesesteak, which is his second love (after Mass Effect), and he was pretty disappointed in it. I had a rice platter and found the meat just meh. The fries were decent, but I wouldn't go out of my way to hunt them down. Lots of food, folks.

He only mentioned that the meat was halal halfway through our meal, a butchering process I find horrific, so it leaves me with very few food options in the future so I think it was my first and last experience with Bada Bing.

My first food truck experience in Vancouver.
I was walking past this 'trailer' this afternoon, did a double take, and recalled the catchy name (from all the recent food truck reviews) of this flamin' (WestEnd),
    4-wheeled, 'bat-out-of hell' inspired, wagon.
Right in front of the Hyatt Regency, near the (currently) cherry blossom caped Burrard Skytrain Station.
    :)
The smell sealed the deal. I turned back and stepped up to the 'counter' and ordered.
I like my beef. (when I ordered I told them I like 'lots of spice/flavor')
From the time I ordered... 10 minutes later my name was called and this  HUGE sandwich was handed to me: hot, steamy, shaved(?) beef, melted cheese, some kind of garlic sauce, carmelized onions, and a balance of spices I can't recall.
The counter service was perfect, and all you need from a food truck. Great guys!
Looking at this arm's length of sandwich resting on paper in my hands, I scurried across the street to find a place to sit and get set up to dig in to this promising wonder.
(I should have asked  them to split it in half: easier too handle: for me, and myself).
I sat in the waterfall surrounded urban park at 666 Burrard, benches and impromptu seating, in the rare, April afternoon sun.
    This sandwich rocked!
I loved the crumbly (ie: easy to digest) bread, amazing sauce, tender beef, onions etc.
I am dreaming about this now! I think it cost around $7.50? can't recall. So worth it for a great, hearty, satisfying sandwich.
I looked at the other Yelp reviews before writing this and see a great array of experiences from this 'place'. Maybe I just lucked out, but I can't wait for this experience again.
    It was all that!

I did some researching on Yelp for places to eat in the Vancouver area. This food truck came up as THE place to go. We hit them for lunch the second day in town. They were parked right outside the Hyatt on Burrard st. They always had people lining up for them, so i thought they must be really good. The kind of good that makes people line up like that. Let me just say, it was not all that. They took our order, my husband had only poutine and I got garlic fries and a philly cheese steak.

My husband got his pretty quick despite the line of people, but they seemed to forget my order and I saw my cheese steak heading into the hands of the guy they seemed to know really well, so I stepped up took charge and got my stuff. It had an okay amount of meat on it, but there really wasn't much flavor to it. It was just average, if that, that is being kind of generous. The bun, as other people have said, does fall apart and it seems like way too much bread for what they are giving you. The garlic fries did have a pile of fresh chopped garlic on them, but every time you speared one the garlic shifted to the bottom of the container, so there was zero garlic flavor, which I was really wanting. The poutine was okay, i had a bite, but my husband ended up throwing a little less than half away.

If there is a big line there, it might not be worth it considering there are a lot of food places right in that zone.

This truck was parked right outside of my hotel, and as an American visiting after an evening of drinking this place hits the spot.  I had the rice platter and poutine, the meat in the rice platter was good but the rice was not doing it for me in terms of flavor.  The poutine with veggie gravy I guess appeals to vegetarians that want something to eat too but it misses out on the meaty flavor I want and need after couple of drinks.

Had a philly steak sandwich from Bada Bing, with a side of fries, last night after seeing Danny Bhoy... The bread was fresh and soft, the beef steak was plentiful and tasty.... Added some halepenos tospice it up and it was a flavourful treat..And large portions.. We will be back for more... Well worth a try!

    * Halal cheesesteak specialist *

This newish food truck did quite a respectable job on the cheesesteak I ordered.  They seem to have moved from their spot on Robson to the Northwest corner of Thurlow and Robson.

The cheesesteak was served on a soft Italian roll.  While it wasn't an Amoroso, it worked well.  The meat was freshly grilled with a nice caramelization and mixed with nicely caramelized onions, mushrooms, and green peppers.  They melted in a reasonable amount of jack cheese (no provolone option oddly) to make for a gooey delicious sandwich.  As a nod to the Halal food truck genre they also had pickled turnips, sliced pickles, and pickled peppers on the side, which made for a colourful side treat.  Photo:  http://www.yelp.ca/biz...

All of their meat is Halal free-range as an added bonus.

    I'll be back!

After finishing a particularly awful lunch, my husband and I were thinking that our weekend vacation in Vancouver was going to be a bad one.  After climbing up the Burrard Street Sky Train station stairs, we smelled the most amazing smell.  A few blocks up we found the source; the Bada Bing Food Truck!  My husband had just been saying that he wanted to try poutine - and there it was.  The guys running the truck were super nice and had the great instinct to throw in an extra fork even though I told them I wasn't eating any.  The poutine was AMAZING!  After trying one bite, I proceeded to eat more than half!  It was salty, crunchy, melty perfection and put our vacation back on track.  Thank you Bada Bing!

Live is too short to just eat healthy. This one of those place where I unleash the beast in me. I'm not big fan of their Philly cheese-steak sandwich. Not that it's bad, but there is nothing to really talk about here. My food of interest are awesomely unhealthy and befittingly named "Animal style fries". That's fried chips and caramelized onions, with strips of cheese and their special sauce on top. My recommendation for diet cautious friends, just skip the sandwich and only get the fries, as the fries are a complete meal. This is definitely something to try out.

While strolling the streets shopping, we passed by this food truck and it looked good, so being foodies, we couldn't resist getting something. All meat is halal and they have a bunch of awesome sauces to top your goodies with.

Chicken Sandwich: good flavor, nice balance of veggies to meat, roll is soft, good sized sandwich, more cheese would be nice, add some garlic cream sauce on top and it makes it even better!

The food truck scene in Vancouver has blossomed.  I have been wanting to try a Philly cheese steak from Bada Bing for awhile.  There are three guys working the truck and they seem to be pretty efficient.  However, they don't seem to be chatting with each other.  Both of my cheese steaks came out hot and very fresh rolls but neither had onions, peppers or mushrooms.  The sign clearly states they come with all of these items.  I went back to my office opened up my delicious smelling food and realized all the yummy things that help to make this their cheese steak were missing.

I will go back again but I will warn you to check your roll before you walk away from this place.

We ran into the Bada Bing truck while shopping on Robson and decided to just get some poutine off the truck because were a little hungry and the name of the truck was fun to say. BADA BING!! This review is only for their poutine because that is the only thing we tried.  I guess you can't really go wrong with the poutine... fries, gravy, curds... yum.   It's made pretty fresh because we were there waiting for a few minutes.  It was piping hot and the curds melted to be really cheesy.

Best Poutine Ever.  On our recent weekend adventure to Vancouver, this truck was parked just a few blocks from our hotel and it was nearly impossible to resist stopping every time we walked by.  The poutine was addictive.  I can't believe that gravy was vegetarian - I'd kill for the recipe!  I'm glad to see Vancouver embracing the food truck scene.  Here's to more food trucks!

Having never tried a Philly cheese steak sandwich, but seen much of their cheesy-melty-steaky goodness prepared on the Food Network, I was excited to give one a try, and a take-out truck seemed the perfect venue. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it seems like a fairly simple concept - thinly sliced beef sauteed with onion, green pepper, mushroom and cheese, then put in a white bun. I know what all of those things taste like separately, but I expected the reality to be larger than the sum of it's parts. Sadly, it wasn't. It was ok, but somehow it didn't live up to my (perhaps too high) expectations. I think it came down to the meat:bread ratio - too bready! I was tearing off chunks of the white "Italian" bun to try and get the right balance but it just wasn't working for me. Still, it tasted pretty good and the guys were fast. A solid 3 in my books.
