I loved this place, its definately got a hipster crowd, great beers, good mix of music, bustling on Fridays, the people there are friendly, and they play rap music too. Other hipster-dance-places in this city (Clinton's, the Boat, etc.) don't get enough rap in. Thank you, Baby Heuy's. You make my world go round.

Can't wait to hit it up for Karaoke Tuesday, I hear only good things. ;-)

Went here for drinks on a Friday night. The music was awesome! Meant for dancing.

Drinks were reasonable and the staff was friendly.

We had the back area reserved for our group, so we had enough space to converse comfortably, but the rest of the bar was  super packed! Too packed.

I had a fun time here.

    - They have space for six taps but only two were on when I arrived. One was added shortly after. Heineken, Sapporo ($7), and then came Creemore ($6). Bottle/can selection is limited to Stiegl, Kronenbourg, Molson Stock Ale ($5), Heineken, and some other minor beers that I can't recall.
    - Weird but fun DJ mixes. Tragically Hip and then Beastie Boys?
    - They were 180% over capacity, for sure. I believe the term is "packed to the tits".
    - My mind was blown by a girl that resembled "The Waitress" that wanted me to "bump it" McPoyle style.

I do enjoy a good bar scene but this place is a complete dive. They have couches  and chairs in the back that I wouldn't even consider sitting on without someones jacket under me lol it honestly just seems sooooo dirty. I understand there are alot of locals that frequent this place and its that hipster crowd which im totally fine with but this just makes that stereotype of the hipster scene come to light. Its grungy and gross and you just feel like someone is in the washroom doing that nose candy hahaha

but for real the place is an old townhouse so its small as F**K and when we went it was way to overcrowded. every minute someone stepped on my foot and i was in one spot pressed on the wall for 90% of the time. if you like rubbing on people all night and having your toes smooshed then go on a fri or sat night lol, just not my thing. I like to dance at bars and i couldn't even talk to the person beside me. NO FUN

I had a SUPER fun time there on Karaoke Tuesday. The DJ (Richie Rich) and the bartender (Richie Smith) kept the crowd totally entertained.

i have a bunch of pics on my blog from the night too:

When I walked into Baby Hueys on the Yelp Pub Crawl... I was already half in the bag.  Standing behind the counter was one Shanley M - a girl I haven;t seen in 15 years since we went to grade school together in Winnipeg.  For real.  It went like this:
    Sarah: 'I know you'
    Shanley: [gives me dirty(ish) look]
    Sarah: 'Shanley?'
    Shanley: 'Sarah?'
Sarah: 'oh my god, you work at a bar in my pub crawl!  I have to call my sister!!' [calls sister and hands phone to bartender] 'Talk to her!!'
Shanley: [talks to my sister for awhile]
    Sarah: [laughs]

The good:  Shanley works here!!! go just for that reason alone!!

The bad: Nothing here was really bad.  They don't have food.

The weird-but-fine: strange crowd.  And at least 4 people from Winnipeg were there when I was there.

Anytime I've been to Baby Huey's I've had a good time. Plus I am pretty sure they might be named after the late soul-singer, which would be pretty dope of them. They have lots of good beers on tap and the prices are relatively cheap. The music varies depending on whoever is DJ-ing that night, so it can range from great hip-hop and funk to terrible electro or questionable rock. Sound system is weak so amateur DJs can make your ears bleed.

The spot is very small, but that's part of the appeal. If you're lucky enough to score a couch in the back then you can have a nice little house party feel with your friends. Last time I went they were working on a patio but I'm not sure if it ever worked out given the noise complaints on Ossington.

Baby Huey is very much like most pubs on the Os; long and skinny with the patio at the back. Baby portraits are proudly displayed on the wall. With a large mural on the patio of Baby Huey himself.

The tables out back were a bit grimy and the chairs not overly comfortable. They did have some nice lounge sofa's, great for when standing turns into swaying although they are not really set up in a manner conducive for a group date.

As Chris P mentioned Baby Huey's had Okanagan Springs on tap, which I have never even heard of before but thoroughly enjoyed. They seemed to carry a nice selection of beers outside of the norm such as Red Stripe. The laid back atmosphere is perfect for having a brew and relaxing.

I'm giving this place 5 stars simply because they have Okanagan Springs 1516 on tap.  Since moving from Calgary I haven't seen 1516 anywhere.

We had a good time here, though the chairs on the patio are terrible to sit on for a long period of time.

Baby Huey's is pretty much like every other new bar on the Ossington Strip - Cool name, but unforgettable. High beer prices, with a small selection of some micro brews and a layout that doesn't really allow for a comfortable sitting.
The ambiance is pretty cool, but is really dark. They sometimes have a live DJ spinning house....which makes me like it a tad more.
I would hang out on the patio in the summer with friends, as this seems to be the best bet for a good time.
Most likely another trendy spot that will not last too long.
Maybe they should bring back the  Karaoke!

Baby Huey's is newish to the Ossington strip. It's a 50-person local bar with an assortment of music and a small back smoking patio.

It used to be a Vietnamese karaoke bar and a hooker hotel above until the head of security at The Social, Mike Homewood, bought it and turned it into a respectable joint.

This is a great place to go for a beer if you're by yourself or you just need to get away from the hustle of Queen West.

I only discovered Baby Huey's recently, but I have been back several times since then.  I love it!  It's a pretty run down looking place, but the crowd is always fun.  The first time I was there I was approached by two girls who tried to talk me into dancing on the coffee table (and did talk me into dancing on the little dance floor and doing shots).  The second time I was there was karoke night, which was totally fun and not annoying as karaoke can often be.  The one weekend night I was there it was totally packed, with a bit more of a normal crowd, but still fun.  The drinks are reasonable, the music is always good, and the staff is super friendly.  Another reason why I am starting to prefer Ossington over Queen Street.

Visiting from Chicago, this was a great spot we stumbled into during an impromptu Toronto bar crawl.  We sat in the neon lit backroom on the pleather couches. The DJ spinning 80s tunes that Friday night convinced my group to stay, and we had a real nice time!  Would definitely come back during my next visit!
