Great hummus and nice people! I love the guy at the Mira Mesa Farmer's Market! I love the sun dried tomato & basil and my husband likes the chipotle. If it's too spicy then you can cool down with the tzatziki.
My husband also loves their pita bread... we've tried many different brands, but my husband has come to the conclusion that he will only eat hummus if he has Baba's pita bread to go with it. -

baba foods products are just plain delicious. offered throughout san diego via farmer's markets and costco, they always provide generous samples of all their products. why? because one taste and you will be sold. its just a matter of finding your favorite flavors!
my personal favorite is the spicy black bean hummus. i could eat that every single day if i had it on hand.
deal alert: if you are a costco member they are regularly showcased in costco (i know at least mission valley and bayho locations - it might be one week a month at each? not 100% sure). when they are there, the larger tubs are sold 3 for $11. thats the way to go! If you can't consume quickly...you can freeze and defrost later. not exactly the same as they get watered down -- best to put in ziplocks completely filled instead of just freezing the tubs. works fairly well. -

"Hummus! Hummus! Pita bread, pita chip!"
If there's a slightly aggressive guy screaming this at you repeatedly at a farmer's market, give him your money. Satisfaction is just about guaranteed (unless you're an idiot), and prices aren't bad at all for a bazillion flavors of hummus - I haven't had a bad flavor yet, but the kalamata olive, spicy black bean, and spicy red pepper are my favorites, though my wife swears by the jalapeno (which is flavorful but only mildly spicy) and the fresh mozzarella soaked in oil. My daughter loves the lemon herb pita chips in her lunch, and for me a bag of pita bread and tub of hummus equals lunch at work for three days, not bad at all given you can get three things for like $11. -

This is as good as hummus could get !!!! Okay, seriously...I don't really like hummus but here it is AMAZING !!! I got the three layer appetizer and the next day I made brown rice and cut up some bbq chicken and mix well together...AMAZING !!!!
Go to their website to find out where that at for the farmers market. -

They have the best baba ganoush! I never seem to see them at Costco anymore - but they're always at all the farmer's markets in SD.

Love Baba Foods! A must-stop at any farmers market. I think I buy a different hummus every time I go. If pressed for a fave, Avocado & Cilantro. Get after it!!

Every time I'm a farmers market I always leave with 3 tubs of hummus from Baba Foods. Now I do have my favorites but I'll try a new one each time and find something else to eat it with. And let me tell you, they are all delicious and tasty.
Not only is their hummus tops but so are their other assortment of foods.Oh and thank you for letting me sample so many of them! -

All their hummus and dips are phenomenal! I was first introduced to all these gems at a farmer's market. I tried their garlic dip, baba ghannouj, jalapeno cilantro, spinach artichoke dip, pita chips, pita bread, marinated mozzarella, baklava and stuffed olives with garlic.........
Conclusion: LOVE THEM ALL.
If you go to Carlsbad or Irvine, you might meet Khaled, who is a very nice, funny and friendly Lebanese guy and he will help you choose your flavors.
I can't wait to try other flavors once I finish the stack of dips in my fridge... -

I love Baba Foods hummus & pita chips! I buy them often when they are at Costco for a road show. My favorite flavors are Avocado & Cilantro, Roasted Garlic & Artichoke, Roasted Sweet Bell Pepper. The chips are really good, but I like to buy the soft pita, warm them in a pan on the stove or toaster oven and cut them into wedges. The hummus freezes really well if you don't finish it (but you probably will). Such a great deal and the perfect thing to bring to a pot luck. ENJOY!
Check out where to buy them here:

I LOVE hummus and Baba has so many different delicious flavors that it's so hard to choose just one. Luckily they were at my local Costco with a deal of three large packages of hummus for just $12!
The Spicy Pepper with Harissa is so flavorful with a nice spice to it. The Avocado & Cilantro tastes so fresh and delicious. But I am absolutely addicted to the Spicy Black Bean! Two of my favorite ingredients, black beans and jalapeños, in a flavorful creamy concoction. They also sell pita bread and chips, baba ghanouj (which is also delicious!), tzatziki, and tabouli salad.
They can also be found at your local farmer's markets where they are pretty generous with their hummus sampling. They are at Otay on Tuesdays, OB on Wednesdays, North Park on Thursdays, Little Italy on Saturdays and Hillcrest on Sundays.
Hmmmm...I think I am going to go eat some hummus now... -

I was never a big fan of hummus until I tried Baba Foods! They're at the SDSU farmers market on Thursday from 10am-3pm!
They have samples of everything, and are very generous with their samples! I'm addicted to their 3 layer dip! It tastes so fresh and tastes amazing with the pita chips! I wish they had more SPICY flavors. I really like the Spicy Pepper, but I didn't like their Spicy Black Bean. They're actually at a lot of farmers markets in San Diego, so make sure to check them out!
Favorites:
3 Layer Dip - feta, pesto, sun-dried tomatoes
Spicy Pepper Hummus
Avocado & Cilantro Hummus- very fresh tasting
Garlic & Herb Pita Chips- so addicting!
Roasted Garlic Hummus -

I luv buying stuff from Baba Foods!
You can find them at almost any farmers market with their expansive spread of hummus, dips, pita chips and pita bread. Yummy!
My faves are the pesto which you can buy on its own or in a dip with feta cheese and sundried tomato. If you buy it alone you can just toss it in some fresh pasta whoa tasty! The hummus is delish as well, Sundried tomato, Kalamata Olives and so many more. There was one i tried that was super spicy but really good. Oh also try their tabouleh it's really good.
It's a dippers paradise yummy goodness! -

"Pita Bread, pita chips!!!!"
These guys always bring a smile to my face at the Hillcrest Farmer's Market. We generally get at least a 3 pack every month. They have an amazing variety of hummus and all of them are amazing. I love, love, LOVE the Avocado Cilantro!!! While the three layer dip didn't "change my life" as promised, it was great!
Stop by, say hello, taste the hummus, buy a three pack and throw the ones you won't use immediately in your freezer. That's what we do. You won't be disappointed. (As a warning, freezing seems to make the spicy ones hotter.) -

Always be on a lookout for their tent at most farmer markets. I am obsessed with their pita chips. Sample their wide selection of hummus and dips. Out of all their dips, my favorite is the three layer dip (feta cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, and pesto).

Farmer's market in San Diego... I walked by and the worker prompted me to try their 3-layer dip...
so i went ahead... tried it... thought "OMG it's so good!" that i had to buy a pack of the dip and pita chips... so good! My bestie and I were snacking on this all weekend long!
the dip: Pesto, sundried tomato, and feta cheese. it's so fresh and tasty! the perfect balance between garlic and feta and tomato. yummmmmmm!
Sadly, i didn't buy any for the trip back home to norcal... I've been trying to replicate the dip on my own... so far i'm 0 for 2... will have to attempt again, since i can't go back down any time soon.
If there is a way to buy that good stuff up here... let me know! :) -

OMG...we have been eating their Lemon/Pepper Pita Chips with the core selection of Hummus and Tabouli for years.
BUT...today I tried the Vegan Curry (normally I'm a Neanderthal meat eater type) hummus and the Chipotli hummus.
I'm telling you the only way they could make these two flavors better is to stick it in a syringe so you could just main line it. The only bummer is you couldn't taste it . But it's so good I can't get enough.
Those two are THAT good. -

YUMMY!! Seriously though Baba Foods has some of the best hummus & spreads around. The pita bread & chips are pretty tasty as well.
I look forward to stocking up on the stellar 3 item for $12 deal each time I go to one of the farmer's markets in town. It's great to be able to sample all the great flavors. The customer service is always on par!
Favorites:
*Tabouli (perfectly prepared, unlike other brands I've tried that over do one flavor or another... Baba Foods always gets it right!)
*Spicy Black Bean hummus
*Fresh Cilantro & Jalapeno hummus
*Green Olive tampenade
For locations in San Diego I know for sure that they are at the UTC Farmer's Market on Thursdays and the La Jolla Farmer's Market on Sundays... plus Costco during certain times of the year.Listed in: Groceries

Every Saturday at the Irvine Farmers Market, I've got a crisp $10 bill earmarked just for Baba Foods. Two hummuses and a bag of pita, please. Oh wait, maybe a hummus, some tzatziki, and that three-layer dip. Or just three hummuses. Or whatever. You know. You can just give me whatever. I'll eat it. And I'll probably eat it long before next Saturday comes, giving me about half a week for cravings.
I'd take off a star for their hummus making me think most other packaged hummuses taste a little like barf, but I'm not an ass-face.
These guys are generous with their samples and you never know what they will give you next! I've been having what are essentially Baba Foods Random Wraps for lunch for the last two school quarters and haven't gotten sick of it yet. -

They have alot more flavors that are all very very yummy.

I wish they took credit/debit payments...cause then I'd buy alot more =)

Thanks to the Oceanside farmer's market, I found out about Baba Foods. The first time around I had some classic hummus and lemon pepper pita chips. I thoroughly enjoyed the chips and almost killed the container on my first sitting.
Since then I've been happy to see the 3-for-$12ish dollar deal at Costco. From this promotion I've tried the Avocado & Cilantro, Spicy Pepper, Roasted Sweet Bell Pepper, Sun Dried Tomato & Basil, Spicy Black Bean and Roasted Garlic & Artichoke hummus, Taboulie, pita bread. I've frozen all of the hummus varieties and bread and they keep well. I usually portion out a third of the container and that lasts me a couple of days.
The only thing I'm not a fan of is the tzatziki. I think it's just a textural thing. -

Sometimes, when you purchase pita chips from the store, you get that "WHAT THE?!" disappointed feeling inside. They're basically regular chips that are somewhat shaped into triangles! WHACK! But BABA pita chips are delicious! The flavor is the perfect blend of yummy-ness. I've tried the plain, lemon pepper, and garlic & herb, which are all fabulous. The lemon pepper, however, didn't have as much flavor as I thought it would. All the lemon pepper ended up at the bottom of the box.
The hummus is great as well. I've only tried the avocado & cilantro and the roasted garlic & artichoke. Sometimes hummus flavors can be a bit tricky, they are often labeled different "flavors" but always taste the same. The Baba hummus, similar to their glorious pita chips, have distinct flavors. My favorite is the avocado & cilantro.
The three layer dip is pretty good too. It's made up of pesto, sun dried tomatoes, and feta. I probably won't re-purchase it again because I'm not a huge fan of feta. However, I would recommend it on it's extreme freshness. Once you open the lip, an array of smells burst out. It's like you stepped into deli!
I also noticed they're located in Chula Vista but everyone is mentioning on the various farmer's markets they visit. Thank you Baba Foods for coming all the way to Mira Mesa on Tuesday afternoons to bring all your tasty food! I appreciate it. -

To name a few:
-Chipotle
-Feta Artichoke
-Cilantro
-Spicy Pepper
-Black Bean
-Olive
I've only seen them at the downtown LA farmer's market on 5th street (Wednesday's), outside the Central Library and at the OC Fairgrounds swapmeet on weekends.
They cost $3 or $4 and are worth every penny!!! Even friends who said they didn't like hummus were made fans! -

Baba Food's has the selection of Baskin Robbins, the quality of Haagen Dazs and the hip happenin' freshness of Ben and Jerry's...all rolled into one!
This is one of the main stalls I hit at the Sunday Hillcrest Farmers Market. There are 21 different kinds of hummus all lined up and waiting to be sampled by yours truly. Avocado & cilantro, kalamata olive, spicy pepper, pesto, roasted garlic...Which one should I try today? Hm...how about pumpkin, their new flavor? *bite* Yummies.
I love how Anis, the owner, recognizes me - Ah yes, that little Asian girl who comes by every week to sample my food and never buys a damn thing, he's probably thinking - and still, week after week, he welcomes me with open arms! Thanks and awesome points for you, Baba Foods!
The pita chips are like crack cocaine and the triple layer appetizer is so good it'll make you wanna slap yo momma!

they're at the Little Italy Mercato too!
Let's see, for $12 I got a massive quantity of handmade baked pita chips, tabouli, a 3 layer dip with pesto, sundried tomatoes, & feta that will probably be gone tomorrow, and the whole transaction was conducted by a hot foreign man. AMAZING!!!
I'm so proud of this locally owned and produced middle eastern food company. I've been waiting for San Diego local businesses to create their own niches...delicious ones anyway. So to the food. Any hummus you eat will be delicious! They have at least about 15 different kinds from original, roasted garlic, roasted pepper, pumpkin, avocado, cilantro, etc. Additionally, they have the other traditional dips such as baba ganoush and tzatziki. I HIGHLY recommend trying their tapenades! The GREEN OLIVE TAPENADE, Roasted pepper-feta-olive tapenade, and pesto feta tapenade are amazing! Oh, and their pita chips are amazing too.
You can find these guys at any farmers market in San Diego, and sometimes Costco and Northpark Produce. My only drawback is that I think they are slightly overpriced, but sin'ce I can't find any other tapenades like their's, I'm totally willing to forgo that and support a great local business! -

I always see Baba Foods at Costco and at SDSU, and I always try all their samples but never end up grabbing some. Today, I was at SDSU's farmers market, and decided to actually buy some!
I bought the Spinach Artichoke and Parmesean cheese dip, and spinach feta artichoke hummus, and some pita chips. I'm eating it right now... as I Yelp. So GOOD!! I think this is the best hummus I've had. The flavors are just right and the texture so smooth!! I've gotta slow down a little or I'm going to eat all of it today!!
Anyway, next week I'm gonna try a different flavor! -

Never been to their retail location, but I have bought their hummus at my local farmers market (in North Park), and it is truely amazing! They must have at least 16 flavors! Every one I sampled was fantastic. I bought cilantro jalapeno, dill mint, and pesto. They are soooo good, especially the dill mint one! I also remember the roasted red one being really good. I wanted to buy them all!
There is always next time, I will be buying from them again very soon! -

You've never had hummus this good before. Trust me.
I stopped by the Baba Foods booth at the farmer's market (S. La Cienega at 18th Street in L.A.-- Thursday afternoons). They had some samples sitting out, but while I was pondering which items to try the guy working there put together a few combinations he said I absolutely had to taste. First up, the fresh pita with classic hummus and a bit of taboulie. I have had both hummus and taboulie separately, of course, but together they are ridiculous good. Ridiculous! The taboulie was so fresh and fragrant, the red onions and parlsey looked and smelled absolutely gorgeous. The guy at the booth said it had just been made that morning, and I could definitely tell. That freshness makes a huge difference in the overall taste.
Secondly, I tried the feta cheese and sundried tomato spread. This was probably my very favorite thing here, again just super fresh and flavorful. I also sampled the kalamata olive spread, a spicy pepper spread and some of their smooth, slightly sweet tzatziki. Not a bad one in the bunch! I ended up going home with the hummus, taboulie and the feta spread, plus a bunch of fresh pita. I can't even tell you how quickly my husband and I ate all of it. It's just too embarrassing. Let's just say that if you see a woman at the farmer's market cleaning out the Baba Foods booth, you'll know it's me.
Get yourself to your local farmer's market or the multiple other places this stuff is sold (Costco? Really?!) and stock up. Just don't blame me for the addiction that is sure to follow. -

I saw them today at the Santee Farmers Market. I bought some pita chips, avocado/cilantro hummus and marinated mozarrella all for $12. They have an excellent variety of hummus flavors, baked + fried pita chips(some flavored-lemon pepper, garlic, I think!) They also have taboulleh, roasted red peppers, etc. Yum!

The only remaining authentic hummus still to be gotten outside of a restaurant in San Diego, and that's a sad state of affairs. That is to say, five or six ingredients, OLIVE oil - not some awful canola etc. substitute, NO preservatives. And so delicious. My favorite flavor for awhile now is avocado-cilantro. I don't buy at the farmers' markets ($$), but if I did, I'd be buying their new beet hummus, the dill, and others as well. Three 24 oz tubs for $12 at Costco; how do you beat that? Yum, and go Baba.

Usually get this from Costco buy 3 items for 12 bucks. Really good variety of flavor humus and their tzaztiki (yogurt/dill) sauce if that's spelled right along with their flat bread is awesome like good greek/persian restaurants. I will not eat any other flat bread this is very soft, fluffy and fresh as can be along with some kabobs and you got a tasty gyro. Also I don't eat humus much but they got the good stuff here. If you're lucky you can catch them at Costco for a taste.

So, you can find Baba Foods hummus at any of the local farmer's markets or at Costco (The one in Mission Valley for SURE, not too sure about others). With that being said, their hummus is A-MAZ-ING! My husband and I are absolutely HOOKED! We happen to be at Costco when they were doing a taste testing of a majority of their flavors... They had about 7 different types there, but my personal favorites are: Avocado and Cilantro, Garlic and Artichoke and Sun dried tomato and Basil. If you like hummus, or want to try some, Definitely go and get some of Baba Foods! Oh, and if you get it from Costco, you get a tub twice of hummus over twice the size of say, Albertson's hummus, and it's the same price!
