Only one review!? Scandal. If you're planning any sort of party (ie wedding, shower, etc) where you need to decorate tables with beautiful trinkets or craft thoughtful place settings, B&J is your jam.
The place is overflowing with really gorgeous Asian inspired tableware and home decor. They have affordable plates, cups, bowls, mixing bowls and the like that are delicately embellished with Japanese floral prints or designs - this kind of stuff is usually expensive in other stores but I've found it really easy to stock up at B&J for a lot less, and who doesn't want to add a bit of whimsy to their table setting, right?
They also have cool stackable Bento-style lunch boxes, placemats and those rice paper lamps that don't easily withstand a flailing fist at a bedroom slamdance party to Ministry's "Stigmata". What of it?Listed in: Home Decor 101

Wow there is so much stuff here. We walked around all of Chinatown and kensington market looking for ribbon today. And we ended up finding it here.
Tons of colours and textures. We got a 50yrd spool for $5. It was more than enough for what we needed.
There's also tons of random things like tools, vases, gifts souvenirs. Come here first! -

B and J Trading Co. is one of the best store of... stuff(?) (can't really be categorized) in the Kensington / Chinatown areas.
There are so many random things at great prices you can get there! I normally go there for:
- Craft supplies
- Gift bags / wrap / decorations
- Kitchen supplies
- Household items
- Birthday cards
.... and anything else I don't know where else to get!
While the service is not the best - I think that might be a language barrier (i.e. saying they don't have something but then upon looking myself I find it), if you have the time to look through and pick out what you want, it is definitely worth looking through!
Also noteworthy, if you need to buy something in super bulk (like 100+) they'll give you 10% off. Yay!Listed in: My October 30

Love visiting this place during Christmas time. Great stocking-stuffer presents.
They carry SO much random shit that you can get lost in there for hours!
One of my personal favourite items I've scored from there was a welcome mat with a cat on it. So cute.
Lots of other great finds there as well. Check it out! -

When I am searching for something last minute or rare, I always hit up B and J Trading first because chances are, they will be my only stop.. whether I'm buying a carafe for a party or a wicker laundry hamper or even wrapping paper, they have it all .. and with an inexpensive price tag attached to it. Since Dollarama decided to increase their $1 price point, I wouldn't even bother going there any more.... not when I have a place as fabulous as B and J trading up the street.
Its definitely worth a pop in .. you never know what you may need until you go there! (It's like Ikea!) -

This store trumps every dollar store I've ever been in. Sure, a lot of the products are junk-ish, but it's dollar store fun with an Asian flair. My last purchase consisted of doll-house furniture, wicker baskets, chopstick boxes that I used to give cookies away in, and cocktail umbrellas.
I love that I can get presents for someone with an Eastern flair and cool plates to use at my next dinner party. It's a fun place to get lost in, though keep in mind you might go a bit crazy after a while. It's Chinatown though, whaddya' expect? -
