Review from David B.
After reading Audrey's review, we decided we had to find this place. We got dreadfully lost at first bit when we finally arrived, it was well worth the frustration. Not only is the cheese selection superb, we lucked out with the one guy who actually spoke English. By the time we were done we ended up with a delightful lunch of cheese and one of the best terrines I have ever had (why don't we have these more in the states?). The bakery next door provided a tasty baguette and the coffee shop was a relaxing setting to put it all together. This is very much a local spot and if you don't speak the language, like us you may find yourself fumbling but all the purveyors were paitent. I would definatly come back here.
The correct address for this place is. 2500 Ch des Quatre Bourgeois, Sainte-Foy, QC G1V 4P9, Canada. Do not use the yelp one, you'll end up in an industrial park. -
Review from Audrey F.
We love visiting our neighbor to the north because you give us a taste of old Europe without having to leave North America. And you are only 7 hours from us! You mean, I don't have to lose a day flying to France?!! You fufill our French-Canadian ethnic eats too!
If you follow your nose to Les Halles du Petit Quartier on Avenue Cartier a few blocks outside of the old city walls of Quebec, you will be rewarded with the best cheese on this continent.
When we visited early September 2009, we found this gem of a foodie paradise mall which held Aux Petit Delices, a fromagerie (cheese and charcuterie shop). We were drooling over the cheeses when the owner of the place came over. He said that he comes from a long line of cheese masters. He explained and handed us samplings of a variety of cheeses for over a half an hour. We were stuffed and we still had to meet some friends for lunch!
This week we dragged some friends to this delightful place. We grabbed some strong blue cheese, brie, camembert, and smooth foie gras truffle cheeses. We ordered duck terrine (melt in your mouth fatty duck pate) and bresola (chewy salty prosciutto) from their charcuterie counter.
We grabbed some baguettinis from the local boulangerie (also in this foodie mall) and snarfed our make shift sandwiches in their food court. My husband grabbed some large Quebecois beer in the beer store to wash things down.
Sitting across from the patisserie certainly did not help. Of course, we had to order a scrumptious moulin de fruits which was the best tasting "profiterole" ever! Why can't the Americans get cream right like the Quebecois! The citron creme brûlée and napoleon were not as memorable.
Needless to say, my friends were impressed. This beats any overpriced touristy restaurant. (Avoid the menus printed in French and English!) -

Yes, this shop is really the best cheese shop in the neighbourhood. Yes, I don't have to travel all the way to France to get this quality of cheese. Their service is excellent. A+. Love it.

Review from Tyler M.
This cheese shop is FANTASTIC! I'm a big fan of gourmet cheeses, and this place was a must-go for me while in Quebec. While there, we spent at least an hour learning about & tasting cheeses with Sebastien, who we now call Professor Fromage! He knows EVERYTHING about every kind of cheese you could think of...and he is so friendly! The owners are beyond lucky to have Sebastien as an employee! We bought some of our favorites, and have enjoyed them with some bread we got at a bakery across the street. If ever needing cheese, in Quebec, go to Aux Petits Delices!! and if you like to learn about some cheese and enjoy some tasting...make sure to ask for Sebastien, our Professor Fromage!
