As is the case with many "vintage" shops, so long as I walk through the doors of Attic Treasures knowing that I'm not going to get a deal, I can handle the slightly insane prices. That said, with some of the best and most well-curated mid-century modern inventory in Vancouver, it's easy to see how she gets away with the high dollah bills on the price tags.

This place is a modernist-lover's wet dream. Clean, well organized, beautiful teak, tubular steel, bent wood, Scandinavian modern, this shop is beautiful. And, bonus: everything is in ridiculously excellent condition thus require little to no refurbishing.

Now if she could just lower the price (even 10-15%!) then I'd be shopping here aaaall the time.

the lady there has a major problem with obese people...i stood right in front of her and she looked right through me and asked the person who just walked in if she could help him.....i followed her around and she kept on serving others until everybody left....then she had time for me......only until someone else walked in.....she cut me off in the middle of my question and went and helped someone who walked in......major BITCH!!!......i walked out and stood just outside the door and overheard her say something very derogatory and not worth repeating about me.....i came to purchase a very expensive lamp but would never give such an evil bitch my hard earned cash
by the way she is a CROOK.....she offered me no taxes if i paid cash......i will be calling revenue Canada about this!

also ALL of her crap is overpriced, granted she does acquire some good pieces......her bullshit attitude towards certain looking people is DISGUSTING!!!
she made me so angry AND FELT SO BELITTLED  that i will never go there again............TOTAL ASSHOLE BITCH.....NUFF SAID!

OK..so I wanna give more stars because this store always has amazing mid-century finds.....BUT....they are sooooooooo stupidly over priced it's embarrassing for the owner...at least it should be....

I am thinking that since she has been raping the wallets of Vancouverites for years..she doesn't mind selling beat up falling apart 1950's plant stands for $200 when Value Village would sell the same piece for $19....although most of the pieces are in great shape but still too much..

I do like to look through the shop now and then just to see if she has come to her senses and has priced items reasonably..never happens...BUT there is a 50% renovation sale right now and items are almost affordable...almost....

over the years we have picked up some beautiful glass wares,
bowls, dishes and quite recently a gorgeous teak mid-century
    sofa that we absolutely love!

shopped all over antique alley for the sofa before finally ending
up here and the price difference was phenomenal!
we would have spent double for the sofa at mid-century modern home
on front street and it was in pretty perfect shape with like new upholstery.

we always find the owner very pleasant to deal with and accommodating.
not too sure about the folks that found it over priced, maybe they don't
get around much... after all you are dealing with collectable items.

I have to agree with what all the other reviewers are saying about this place. Lots of great mid-century stuff all in really good condition but most of her stock is way, way over priced. She needs to seriously consider dropping the price on everything by at least 30%.

I bought a coffee table there (which I love) but the only reason I could afford it was because she was having a 50% off renovation sale. $350? Not a chance. $175. That's much better thanks.

    Whoa man, like totally tubular!

I don't know -- I was going for a 1970's vibe, you know, back in the day when Woodstock and hippies were as common as  eco-chic clothing and reusable bags.   Actually think of an episode of That 70's Show!

The retro furniture store has mid-Century treasures.  Coloured everything: dishes in yellow, mugs in black and white circa 1980's cheesy George Michael videos, kitchen appliances, those old rotary telephones, bread holders, large paintings of horses running and neon signs, and Russel Wright tableware.  Everything is in great condition.  No ripped couches here honey!

Attic Treasures buys, sells, and rents 1930s-1970s furniture and household items. You will likely feel like you are back in grandma's kitchen as you discover items from her past (and yours). I stumbled upon my mom's dishes. $25 for a cup and saucer! I better tell her to take care of those things. I can't say that I was inspired to buy (or rent) anything, but I am inspired to check out my grandma's garage full of boxes on my next visit home.

I can't help being pulled in two directions about this place and the review I am about to give.  On one hand I get excited whenever someone even mentions the word "mid-century modern"  it conjures up a ton of ideas about the past,  a sense of familiarity , and a nostalgia that we can all relate to (well most of us).  So for that simple fact I like coming here because this is exactly what this store offers.  No reproductions here, and a no frills atmosphere is what you get.  Pieces of the past  neatly displayed for you to look at and touch.  Almost everything is in excellent condition.
Now.. on the other hand is where I am ripped from the clutches of my ideas and dream (so dramatic I know) and just about dye when I discover the sticker price.  so if your into mid-century and you don't mind shelling out a few bucks then stop by and check out the wares... oh and they do consignment if you have something you excited to part with!

This is the best store for finding a deal on vintage mid century furniture or objects. Cheaper than comparable stores in this city. People who complain about their prices can't know much about vintage. The stuff is hard to find here compared to other cities because not much was sold or bought here in the day. I have furnished my home from this store over the years. The prices are LOW, and the proprietor is super friendly.
