On vacation and walking around we were taking in the sights and attempting to find a place for lunch. Looking at menus and hoping to select a winner on Boylston St., we stopped at the Atlantic Fish Company. On a hunch we entered the restaurant that was very busy. The gentleman at the door was very accommodating and told us he would find a table for us to enjoy lunch. The place is very nice along with a good atmosphere. People are nicely dressed and it is obvious it is a classy restaurant. Not white linen and fancy dancy but classy.

We decided to try the bar and to enjoy our lunch sitting at the bar. Not a problem and we were in the mood for drinks. The server was Billy and he was there for us and wanted to impress the couple from New Orleans.

The entire time we were having this long lunch drinking and eating was fantastic. And I have to give this establishment a Five Star rating. That is based on ambiance, food, drinks, and service. On any return trip to Boston this restaurant  will be on our must visit list.

After studying the menu and asking a lot of questions we decided on our choices. My fiancée ordered the Steamed Mussels. The dish was served with sofrito, capers and warm garlic croutons. She is weak for mussels and kept a smile on her face while enjoying her lunch.

I selected the Crabcake Sandwich. Something new to me and I thought it would be a good choice and it was. The sandwich consisted of jumbo lump crab meat, a must for me when enjoying crab meat, with other goodies. Also on the sandwich were tomatoes, brie cheese, and pistachio basil pesto accompanied with sweet potato fries. The portion here was not small and we just took all the time in the world to enjoy the food, observe what was going on around us and to think about our visit to Boston.

The wine selection, and the wine list is very nice, was a 2009 Far Niente Chardonnay from Napa Valley. This wine is also available by the glass.
The wine went well with the food we had selected.

We concluded with cups of Cappuccino and felt this restaurant would have no trouble at being successful in New Orleans.

This past weekend marked my 3rd time to Atlantic Fish Co.
I had made reservations a month in advanced for my sister's graduation dinner. Our party had 8, and even a month out there were no large tables available. Upon calling, found out they only have about 3 large tables... bummer.

Since I knew the food would be delicious, proceeded with 2 reservations of 4. They placed us in booths back to back, which wasn't so bad. 1 adult table and 1 for the kids.

    The food rundown:
    - bread basket = delicious!!! I can't help but grab a bit of each type of bread...definitely one of those baskets you can keep around the entire meal just to keep snacking on
    - Seafood: Fresh! a little pricey but given location, reasonable.
    - Sides: try the sweet potatoes!

The atmosphere is bustling but a good upbeat vibe. Perfect location next to Newbury to have a nice stroll before/after.

Probably the item I enjoyed most here was their brussel sprouts. They were VERY tasty. The crab cake appetizer was also good.

The Arctic Char had too much blackened or burnt topping. The pan seared sea bass was well done (my friend loved it though), but just not tasty. Lobster ravioli and spinach accompaniments were good. I suppose I prefer regular steamed sea bass with soy sauce and scallion. The corn pudding was too rich with butter. The ridiculous brownies sundae was very rich.

On a lighter note, the service was excellent. Great atmosphere, perhaps not my kind of seafood palate or I just stumbled on the wrong items on the menu.

a friend of mine was in town and she wanted to eat oysters. id love to take her to neptune and B&G oysters , but we didnt want to wait in line because of the bad weather.
i picked atlantic fish company because they had reservation available. the earliest was 8:30pm. pork belly had two interviews the second morning so we were trying not to stay out too late, so i told my friend to be there around 8 and we could probably be seated when we arrive. our plan failed. we got there exactly at 8pm and i told the host that i had a reservation for 8:30. altho the restaurant was kinda full but i still spotted a few empty tables. the host looked she DID NOT want to work AT ALL. she simply told me you have to wait til 830 because thats what she had on the reservation. she was laughing/chatting with other wait staff and did not pay any attention to us after while we were standing by the door for 30 mins. i felt angry because every time i arrived early to other restaurants they all had us seated right away when there were tables available.
so we were finally seated around 8:30. although the waiter was polite, the service was incredibly SLOWwwwwwwwwwwww!!
i wanted to try Lobster Fra Diavolo but it looked bland on yelp pictures, so pork belly and i order the New England Lobster Feast which serves two people. it includes a 2 lb. steamed lobster served with clam chowder,
mussels, steamers, corn on the cob, and new potatoes

their clam chowder is rated no.1 in boston. mehh i thought it was kinda watery. didnt see anything special abt it.

New England Lobster Feast- omg this was such a rip off!!!!! i dont need to describe the taste. it taste like whatever you buy from a grocery store and boil it at home with water. there is no other taste other than the original taste of the seafood which i dont blame them because it's what it supposed to be. BUT the steamers!! OMGGGGG!!!! SUPER SUPER SUPER SUPER SUPERSUPERSUPERSUPERSUPERSUPERSUPERSUPERSUPERSUPER SUPERSUPERSUPERSUPERSUPERSUPERSUPERSUPERSUPER SANDY SANDYSANDYSANDYSANDYSANDYSANDYSANDYSANDY SANDY SANDYSANDY SANDYSANDY!!!
i was like wtfffff so i thought umm maybe there is a part that we arent supposed to eat like the sand/shit bag. so i asked the waiter. he told me that i could eat the whole thing but i can take of the tail if i want and i was supposed rinse in the broth before i eat it so the sand can be rinsed out. he apologized that the person that brought us the broth never told us. pork belly even asked the person what the broth was, she jus said broth. she didnt tell us what it was for. and pork belly told me it was soup wtfff!

so i tried another one after i took off the tail and rinsed it in the broth. wtffffff still super super super sandy!!!! like i am literally eating sand. we did NOT touch the rest of them. i felt super ripped off! this dish was $87, i felt we wasted at least $35!!!! shouldnt you at least clean them??! even some of the mussels tasted sandy but it was bearable.

this place feels like legal seafood with a huge big price tag maybe even worse. man, i will NEVER return to this place due to sucky ripped off food and ignorant service.

This place is very well put together! Spotless and very classy, you'll feel under dressed if you don't have dress slacks and a button down shirt. The menu is quite extensive for a seafood restaurant and the wine list is HUGE! For a quick snack we had the clam chowder, which was amazing. Very creamy and has decent sized chunks of potatoes and diced clams. Even the bread that was brought out with the soup was good.

For my main dish I ordered the fish and chips, which was great tasting and portion wise was a good deal for the pricing. The service was nice at first, but went downhill as the afternoon went on. The waitress barely showed up after bringing out the entrees. Maybe she started thinking she was going to receive over 25% for barely doing anything. I think service wise, maybe the waitress was having a bad day, but this place is a must if your in the area, regardless if the service is just ok.

I grew up in Boston many moons ago. I don't get back there very often but there are three things that I miss most, foodwise, about the place. Good pizza (with anchovies, of course), oysters and fried clams (with bellies). The pizza and beer I took care of the night before with an old high school friend. I managed the other two today.

My companions (regulars here) had a grilled salmon with oven roasted potatoes, fresh spring asparagus and Fish and Chips. I had a half-dozen (PERFECT) Wellfleet oysters and a clam roll. We all had beers from their ample list. It was everything I'd been wanting, Thank-you AFC.

The service was excellent, even down to the perfect (go figyah) Boston accents, the venue was clean, fancy tablecloth Boston proper. You pay for it. In fact, It's the most I've evah spent for oystahs (whoops, there I go) in my ef'ing life but ....... I'll be going  back to my temporary digs in Madison, WI happy, wicked happy!

Went for Mother's Day Dinner and even with a reservation, waited about 20 minutes but the food was worth it.

Appetizer - Grilled Calamari- so tender and juicy.  You can't get that kind of tender meat without the squid being very fresh.
    Clam Chowder - Awesome

Entree - Sea Bass with lobster ravioli - the fish was very fresh and good but it was not memorable.
Cioppino - amazing.  the fish was a little flavorless but the spicy and rich broth made up for it.  This was the best cioppino I've had and I've had them all throughout the East and West Coast.

Dessert- peppermint ice cream cake - it was light and the cookie crust was flaky and so good.  I don't like peppermint but I loved this ice cream.

May have to go back to Boston just to eat the Cioppino and peppermint ice cream cake again!

    LOBSTER ROLL!!!!

We were walking around Boston and walked past this fancy fancy restaurant! Then we were greeted by Danny Levesque the Executive Chef. WOOT WOOT!!! He was very cheerful, and had a great since of humor. He won me over from the start, and I knew I would be convincing Carol later that day  to go back to Atlantic Fish Company for LOBSTER ROLL!!!

We decided to head over after we conquered the massive Boston library, and we were lucky that there was no wait. WOOT WOOT!!!

Carol had the Clam Chowder, and I had the Lobster roll. We ordered some Oysters for appetizer and everything was super YUMMY. We were having fun with the servers asking them if they were a head chef, or sue chef and everybody made this face like "    :-P " it was made us laugh and their expressions were priceless!!!

Oh and what was really cool is you can see all the chefs and line cooks working through this really huge wall glass. It gave Carol and I the sense of our favorite show Hell's Kitchen and yup... made us love it more.

With the food being great, and the atmosphere... there was 1 more challenge.

    THE BATHROOM...

I am very big on bathrooms, and this bathroom was very big on me. They had nice decor, and very great tiles. The music playing was elegant. If the bathroom is dirty, who knows what goes on in the back where the food is being cooked.

Everything about this place was incredible. If I travel to Boston again, i'll be sure to access the Atlantic Fish Company, and YOU SHOULD TOO!!!

Dining for me boils down to two things:
the food (taste, presentation, size, price) and the experience.

Atlantic Fish Company hits both nails on the head!

Russell and I were walking around Boston when we came across this place. The head chef was actually outside getting ready for the day's service when he introduced himself and insisted that we come by for lunch. After walking around for a few more hours, we took him up on it for a late lunch.

Having read a few reviews, I decided to go with a bowl of the New England Clam Chowder. The waiter was also more than happy to accommodate my request to have it in a regular bowl, instead of a bread bowl.

Russell ordered the Lobster Roll and we also shared an order of oysters.

The oysters were delicious! They tasted very fresh. I could have eaten 100 of these!

My serving of chowder was huge! Go with the 'cup' size unless you plan on sharing. Lots of clams and potatoes loaded this bowl of chowder. I also tried some of Rus' lobster roll. I was so glad that it wasn't over done with a ton of butter, like a lot of places in NY serve it.

The atmosphere of this place was wonderful. The waitstaff and food runners were all very professional and nice. I loved the open kitchen...you could see everything that was going on in the back. The bathrooms were also very clean and nice.

Even better...this place was so affordable. I would love to go back again!

Impressed. Not exactly a cheap lunch, but tasty if maybe a touch slow--service wise.

The chilled shellfish plate was very tasty--flavorful clams and oysters and the usually delicious lobster, shrimp and crab. They also had some nice warm sourdough bread and my friend seemed to like his clam chowder.

I got the grilled swordfish with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The swordfish was cooked very well though it had maybe a slightly oilier thing going on than I thought given that it was grilled. That said--it was nice.

The broccoli was well steamed and bright green. The mashed potatoes were a bit flavorless but had a nice texture to them.

Our water was very cool, though he did take a while to check in on our drinks. Overall if you don't mind paying maybe a little more than you should, I'd recommend this place based on one visit :)

Go here! Everything was delicious. My husband and I sat at the bar for a late dinner, and had a wonderful time with fantastic food and drinks.

For food: I got the crab cake to eat, and it was not typical. Almost all crab, no filler, and served with a yummy cole slaw.  My husband got the clam chowder in a bread bowl. I stole some of this, and it was so good.  At one time, I was on the quest for the perfect clam chowder, and spent a summer ordering it everywhere I went.  This clam chowder is top 10.  I would definitely order it here again.  I liked it better than Legal Sea Foods.  For dessert, we got the peppermint ice cream pie.  It's a generous slice of peppermint ice cream on a chocolate cookie crust with a layer of chocolate ganache on top. Very good.  Oh, and the bread that they start with is super-tasty.

For drinks: I got the blueberry lemonade drink, and ended up ordering another because it was so tasty.  My husband had a gin and tonic, which he approved of.

Bottom line: I will definitely come here again when I am in the area, and I would not hesitate to bring company with me.

Pretty good place.  It felt a little overpriced for the quality of the food.

Service was very good.  Our waitress treated us like we go to expensive restaurants all the time, very "deferential" in a strange kind of way.  I don't like to be treated like that so much, but most of my party does and they thought she was quite good.  I think it's something that the restaraunt fosters in its staff.

They had some cool mixed drinks on special.

I got the Sea Bass, my new favorite fish.  It was good, but just normal good.

I recommend goinig there once if you want to be treated like a VIP but I think you can get better food at cheaper places.

Service was alright but pretty slow on some fronts.

The only thing of note were the oysters, which were excellent. My friend had the lobster ravioli, which was apparently pretty good as well.

The famed clam chowder had a sour tinge to it and didn't taste particularly good.

Bread was stone cold, except for the roll, which was nice and soft. The lobster roll wasn't very good. There wasn't a lot of lobster in it, and the fries were skinny and full of air.

Overall, I didn't really enjoy anything except for the oysters.

This was the first dinner stop when I was in Boston.  I got to sit outdoors to really soak in the Boston town.  I loved the hustle and bustle around the streets as I was having my food.  The food itself was okay.  I had the calamari which was tasty, but I would have hoped for more crunch.  My main course was an ahi tuna burger, which was made very odd to me because instead of getting a cut of fish, the burger was made of ground fish.  I've never had an ahi tuna burger this way before so that was a bit appalling.  The flavors were good, but the texture and experience turned me off.

I've only been here for lunch (because dinner is very expensive), but it's my go to place to take visitors. Great lunch options, especially the fish sandwiches and sweet potato fries. The crab cake appetizer are seriously the best crab cakes ever.  The clam chowder in a bread bowl is delicious, but heavy, and certainly a fantastic deal for how much food you get!

I'm going to second the sentiments in Katherine d's review - we also had an issue with the hostess and seating, with our situation also not being handled properly.  Also agree with her on the server - fine, but nothing exeptional.

Thankfully our situation improved drastically with one very important ingredient - DRINKS.  And we had a lot of them!  After that none of us cared about the hostess or the server or anyone else, for that matter.

The food was great - 3 of us had lobster and one the seabass and we were all beyond pleased...to the point of even keeping our drunk asses quiet while stuffing our faces.

To start, there was an issue with the hostess and seating.  Without getting into details, I believe that the situation was not handled properly.  Once I was finally seated it was with a bad taste in my mouth.  All they could do was try to change my mood with my meal.

Our actual server was just fine.  Nothing exceptional, but he was there when we needed him.

Drink menu is uninspired, and they lacked the ingredients to make my preferred libation.

The food however, was really great.  We started with the seafood platter for 2.  The shrimp were enormous, lobster was great, as it always is, and the presentation was really something.  It is hard to mess up fresh seafood, but I began to feel my sour mood change.  The crabcake was sensational, large and meaty with no filler.  My scampi was great.  The pasta was cooked properly, and again more enormous fresh shrimp.  They do not at all skimp on the seafood portion.

The food was so good that in debating between a 3 and a 4 I'll round it up to 4.

This was not my first visit to this establishment, but it is the first since launching this blog.  The last meal is vaguely memorable as a decent seafood dinner...Sea Bass with asparagus and mash I believe.

I chose AFC for dinner to treat a veterinary intern to a seafood dinner before leaving Boston.  The weather was predicted to be crappy and I was attending a Martini Tasting just up the street at The Charlesmark Hotel Lounge.  Our meal almost made me wish I didn't bother slipping and sliding on the slush falling from the heavens as I ventured up Boylston St from the Charlesmark since the crudités, cheese, and sweets served at the Martini Tasting were a bit more appealing after trying a few items at Atlantic Fish.

We started with the Oysters Rockefeller.  I am convinced only The Oak Room (re-opening Summer 2012) can woo me with this dish!  AFC's Oysters Rockefeller lacked the richness I've grown to love when sampling this dish.

We also tried the Crab & Artichoke dip.  The gruyere cheese was a bit overwhelming, making the dip more like a cheese dip versus the expected rich, creamy dip typically anticipated. The crab meat was ok, the artichoke barely there, and the pita chips more chewy than crisp.

My dining companion had the clam chowder which I did not taste, but she was not blown away and I immediately thought of several other restaurants which would have given her a chowder experience to remember even once she was back in Michigan!

Entrees consisted of fish (haddock) and chips for her and baked Arctic Char with garlic/butter breadcrumbs, sauteed spinach, and corn pudding.

The haddock was lightly breaded, moist, and flaky served with an abundance of sad shoestring fries, and coleslaw.

The baked Arctic Char was overcooked, dry, and sloppily prepared (bits of skin remained on the fish during an apparently rushed prep which exposed the lack of attention to detail that tragically riddled the entire meal).  The sauteed spinach lacked seasoning, the corn pudding somewhat saved the day; though, as luck would have it, I did not have nearly enough of this most decent portion of my entree.

The ambiance of Atlantic Fish Co. is lovely.  The staff are professional, attentive, and friendly.  The location (especially during warmer months when Alfresco dining is in season) is perfect for people watching.  On this particular evening, watching the snow come down (only the 2nd real snow of Winter 2001-12) was more distracting and appealing than my meal.  I may give AFC another go, but I make no promises.  Perhaps trying brunch can change my perception of this establishment.

Avoiding the three star seafood restaurants is easy in Boston with YELP!  We came here last night for our daughter's first lobster dinner.  I am not the seafood lover so I will just say that she loved her lobster and the hubs LOVED his lobster roll.  The prices were great, the services was great, the only downside is that it is pretty loud.

Shopping all day long, we didn't  make any reservation and just walked in on a very chilly Sunday night, fortunately we got a very nice table.
For appetizer we had seared bay scallops (they can make an entree appetizer portion) and raw oysters. Our waiter highly recommended those scallops because they are only available for a short time. Really incredible indeed. They taste more briny, salty instead of sweet.
I am really happy with the less creamy new england clam chowder.
We did not even peel the lobster because they can do that.
Plus, they have darn good sourdough starter.
All in all, yummy food and five stars service make it a MUST try restaurant in Boston.

We came here the first night of our long-weekend honeymoon (or "mini-moon" as we called it).  I was glad that we had reservations because there was quite a wait, yet, when we got there we were quickly shown to our table.

For appetizers, we ordered the Ahi-Tuna and the Crab Cake.  Both were good, but I think I preferred the Ahi-Tuna.  The crab cake was a littler drier for my preference, however, it was still very fresh.  It was a great start to our meal. For our entrees, I ordered the scallops with the crushed potatoes and the broccoli.  The scallops were cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth.  My husband ordered the San Francisco Ciopinno and truthfully, I had food envy big time.  It's a good thing that he shares food because I probably ended up eating a good chunk of his.  My food was very good, but the spicy saffron broth in the Ciopinno was some of the best I have ever had.  I just could not stop eating it.  Just thinking about the yummy food, I am getting hungry.

At the end of our meal, our waiter brought over a complimentary creme brulee with "congratulations" written on the plate for our honeymoon.  I love little touches like that! It was also delicious and I liked the fresh berries too.

My complaints are very minor.  Our waiter was friendly and very helpful to recommend dishes.  He was a bit slow in getting our champagne. I was also a bit annoyed that we had to refill the champagne ourselves.  I don't know whether this was a product of bad timing (when we wanted it, he was busy) or whether it was a detail overlooked.  Nit-picky this may be, I expect the best at such a good restaurant.

    I will definitely be back!

Had heard that Atlantic Fish Co. was good but finally got to try it for ourselves today for Mother's Day lunch.  It was everything we had wanted and more!!!  We arrived for our reservation about 30 minutes early and they were able to accommodate us and seat us early.  We were greeted promptly with friendly staff.  Our waiter was wonderful the entire meal. We ordered off of Brunch menu and regular lunch menu and everyone loved their meals.  We will be back and can't wait to bring visitors here when they are in town!!  Very Good!

The Atlantic Fish Company has undergone a renovation in between the time I first went here, and now. It's been that long.

It's changed hands once, possibly twice in the decade or so I've been going here. I can always get a solid seafood dinner here.

If you want a fresh fish, cooked properly, with good side dishes, the Atlantic will do you properly. I wouldn't go here and order a steak, but if you did, it would probably come from next door. It's the same owners, so I would expect them to share supplies.

Anyway, I wrote this review for one reason only, and that is to extol the virtues of the crab dip. I love it. I've had it for years, and years, and I keep going back just for it.

It's crabby, without being fishy or overly pungent. It's always served hot enough to sear the roof of your mouth, and it comes with veggies, and cracker/flatbread. I feel like it's the best appetizer, but I'm clearly biased towards it.

The service is typically perfunctory, and professional. The place is always clean, appropriately lit, and not so loud you have to shout, but not so quiet that looking around is awkward. It's really a great date restaurant.

The wine list is pretty standard, and I've never had a problem finding a good pairing with dinner.

It's strange, I want to give AFC 4 stars, but 3 feels more correct. Maybe I'm just too familiar with it.

I'd been wanting to try this place for awhile, but unfortunately I'm poor, so I was delighted to hear that my friend's mom was coming to town for her birthday and taking us all out to eat here.

Best meal I've had since moving to Boston. We had Oysters Rockefeller and fried calamari for appetizers. I LOVE trying new foods and had never had either. I wasn't a huge fan of the calamari but my friends who like that couldn't stop eating it. The oyster app was so, so good. For my entree I got the crab-crusted haddock, which came in a tomato cream sauce with truffle salted potatoes and asparagus. The haddock was wonderfully tender and a real treat, and the potatoes were addicting! My friends and adopted mom were also extremely happy with their meals. The menu offers so many options and everything looked fantastic. I'll definitely be back...to try their clam chowder, because that's pretty much the only thing on the menu that I can afford by myself.

This was a fun location after the Boston marathon for dinner. The service here is wonderful. Our waiter was fantastic, personable and attentive. The food was delicious. Had the clam chowder and bread, and then cod with broccoli and asparagus. Wish I had gotten the fancier cod on the menu as this was just pan seared without seasoning, but still fresh and delicious. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal. We had a wonderful time.

Food was great! The big surprise was the calamari (jalapenos were a great touch) and the brussels sprouts were fantastic.

Service was meh- the waiters all looked miserable! The people clearing the tables were more pleasant & made for a friendlier atmosphere.

The Nunes loves this place and if you love seafood, you will also. So all around amazing, you can't even tell they are in a restaurant group....

To me, a great restaurant is not only the nonbrainer stuff: hygiene, yummy food, service (speed and care)...but also, how are you treated when you go a bit outside the box?

Because I dine out so much, I like to slightly control how my food is cooked. For example, we all know that dining out = lots of hidden calories:  added butter/oil, pan frying, whatever.

When I go to Atlantic Fish I feel at home. I usually get my favorite fatty fish, Salmon - heck, it fatty enough so they actually go out of their menu boundaries to STEAM it for me, and they also steam the sides. They never mess up and the fish still comes unshaken from being taken out of its pan friend or grilled comfort zone.

The tuna is top quality here - when you slice it, you dont see those nasty white strands of fat....you see pure tuna, its obvious they are giving you a prime cut.

The waiters are all friendly - probably because they get free meals at AF everyday!
Waiters Glenn and Sean are the waiters I always have and I love them, you will too.

The bar: eating at the bar is so much fun also. Be prepared to chat with random people, the bar tenders are VERY attentive to you also.

THE BREAD- the best start of the dinner...their signature bread bowl but not really bread is awesome.

I love how there is a window where you can see the kitchen.  Love the chef with blue hats, man they all look so classy - especially the guy with the white framed glasses...you'll see him there.

    Suggestions:
Your best bet is to choose a fish anyway you like it, with two sides.
Top favorites: Swordfish - trust me, its not your regular tasting swordfish..
Salmon....GO HUNGRY or take half home because the fish is 10 oz of glory.

If you feel like a seafood salad and you are on a budget, go for the Wok Salad, won't regret.

    GO and think of me....

    Love,
    Nunes

We read the reviews on Yelp and decided to try this restaurant- I was craving a lobster roll. I had the best lobster roll I have ever had last time in Boston at Neptune's. We got seated right away, and our waiter came over who had a major attitude. We found out he's been a server there for many years and other waiters who had come by our table also told us they agreed with us about his snotty demeanor. Our friend who was with us is from California but has live in Boston for 2 years. He told us that most waiters in Boston were snotty. I hope that's not the truth.

I asked if the lobster roll was hot or cold. He said cold but they could make it hot. So I ordered the hot roll. When it came, it was cold and the roll had mayo all over it. That's not a hot lobster roll! I sent it back and they brought it back out "hot" which was luke warm, and obviously the same lobster because there were remnants of the mayo. It was chewy and watery. I can't believe I paid $21 for that garbage! I had 2 bites and didn't even bother finishing it.

My sister ordered lobster fra diablo and the lobster in her dish was ICE COLD too!  Pasta was hot, lobster was cold. She was SHOCKED.

Normally I would say something to the manager, but it was late and we were tired. Of course our snotty waiter couldn't be bothered to ask why we both left over 90% of our dishes.

You would think this restaurant would have their shit together, but they don't.

The host who greeted us was very friendly, even though we came dressed like poor college students ........ because we are; our waitress was more obvious about not wanting to serve us because she probably assumed that we wouldn't give her a decent tip.

The clientele was mainly business people, whose conversations I really enjoyed listening in on, LOL.

ONTO THE FOOD (that was brought out on a roller!)
The complimentary bread and butter was absolutely amazing: fluffy, soft, warm, toasted, etc.

Appetizer Jumbo Lump Crab Cake: yum yum yum! but their corn bread was especially YUM
Captain's Platter: everything was fried deliciousness (though I wish they had a more even ratio of clams, scallops, etc.); french fries weren't very crunchy
Maine Lobster Roll: definite smell and taste of fresh lobster; a little too oily for my liking; the crunchy toasted bread complimented the soft lobster meat nicely

At the end of the meal, another waiter came by to scrape the tables of crumbs!

All in all, the meal was above average, but it was the atmosphere and sophistication of the restaurant that made the dining experience.

Was visiting Boston from Philly. Have had legal before but decide to try AFC. While legal seafoods is great. Atlantic Fish Company is the best seafood i've ever had.

The clam chowder is a must have. I went with the lobster for dinner which was fantastic but the scallops looked amazing as well.

A must go to if you are on Newberry street.

For my Dad's Bday we were struggling with a good choice for all of us as my Family has diverse preferences in our culinary tastes. Finally we settled on the old classic standard as it would likely have something good for all of us. It was the right choice. Everyone's meal was really good - highlights include oysters, fried calamari, chowder and bread, and special tuna tacos.  Adding to the high quality of food was the amazing service - she was fast , had a good sense of timing , and intuitively knew to bring a cake from spotting the bday card on the table...Well done !

    Absolutely loved this place.

Called and said I'd be a few minutes late for my reservation - was instantly assured that this would not be an issue.

When we got there, we were immediately sat at a table by the window (This was my only slight issue - the window definitely had a draft.  At one point I needed to put my coat back on)

I ordered the pink sangria...yum!  It came in a giant glass and lasted me through the entire meal - it was strong, but fizzy and delicious.

    ---------------------
Bread basket - warm bread, yes!  I hate when a restaurant serves cold bread.  The butter was room temp and easily spreadable - also a plus.  I liked the variety of bread that was served.

Grilled calamari tossed with olive oil, hot peppers, parmesan and garlic - thought it was great.  Love the option of grilled vs. fried, loved that the hot peppers were sauteed with the mix, loved the net over the lemon served alongside.

Meal #1 - Special of the Night:  pan seared bone-in monkfish, served over lobster risotto with snow peas and sun-dried tomatoes, with a sage butter sauce served on the side. OMG it was amazing. I had never tried monkfish before, and it was a great first experience...the risotto was perfectly cooked and came with a generous amount of lobster pieces.  I could go on and on...but it was great.  Until I forgot to bring my leftovers home :(

Meal #2 - Pan seared sea bass with lobster ravioli - sea bass was perfectly tender, the ravioli were great.  Delish. The waiter told us that this is the most popular item on the menu.

    ----------------------

All in all, a great night.  Skipped dessert to head next door to Max Brenner for yummy dessert drinks.  Highly suggested for a date night.
