I think this place is actually a lounge at night but during the day you would nev know that this was a cool little sit down that you can bring cd,Kent's to, enjoy the damask wall paper and large windows looking out to king street.

The lattes are smooth and creamy, but may be considered weak to some. I just thought it tasted just right so to each persons own taste buds. I'm guessing they get their baked goods in from a bakery nearby but they have a good selection ...sweet and savory scones, muffins, cookies, something buttery for the morning. For lunch you can order sandwiches as well

The bar is stacked along the wall, but for during the day, you can get your flavored lattes from bottles in a cooler... I don't know if there was any ice in there but I'm guessing it was just as form of storage, really.

The staff is friendly but if this place gets busy, you can expect to be waiting long because I've never seen fore than one person working at a time.

I'll stick w. take out at this place..not sure what night life is like.

Atelier Café Lounge is an interesting experiment on King street west. In the day, it's a café catering to the mobile commuter. They have free Wifi, plenty of outlets, espresso, and lots of comfy seating. It's a key place for a meeting; the monochrome damask walls and natural hardwood floors beat a chain coffeeshop anyday.

They feature lots of delicious goodies including vegan and gluten free treats from Bunners bakery. They also make sandwiches and salads.

In the evenings on weekends this place is a nightclub. I have yet to experience this aspect of the space, but it seems well-suited to evening gathering. I will have to check it out.

Obligatory Title Pun: ATEL- me all your secrets.

Menu Readability: Often written on the mirror right below the counter.

Need to mention: Outlets can be hard to find, but they are there. Get down LOW.

What this place teaches me about myself: I'm a sucker for damask.

Located on King street, just west of Spadina, Atelier cafe is where Spice Safar used to be.

My order of prosciutto focaccia was a delicious sandwich packed with procsciutto, alfafa sprouts, cheese and tomatoes.  It felt healthy and hearty at the same time.  The dish is well complemented by a side of curry-flavoured couscous salad.

The chocolate-almond croissant is flaky and totally yummy!  Even better than the ones I had in Paris!

If we weren't pressed for time, I can easily sit here all day, leaning back on the comfortable cushion, surrounded by the artistic decor, enjoying a cup of coffee, perhaps occasionally browse the web with the free wifi and catching up with my friends.

Love this spot, will definitely be back!

Their menu prices are also very reasonable.

Dark and dirty. And I could have sworn I saw a hobo sleeping in a poorly lit corner.

At night this place turns into a nightclub.
This is review is directed at Atelier Noir.
This place sucks.  Keep in mind we had "VIP/bottle service/booth" while reading this. After waiting in a line for about 20 minutes they wouldn't let my whole party in even though I was told me entire party (about 13-15) would be on GL. Once we were inside we weren't shown where our booth was... after wandering around we finally found it. There were girls sitting at our "booth" which was a 2x2 table and only seating for about 3 people. We waited for a hostess who didnt show up ... after waiting about 20 - 30 minutes we were fed up and left. Wasting in total an hour of my time. That's not how "VIP/bottle service" should be treated. It was EXTREMELY unorganized. It really put a damper on my birthday.
