you know when you watch a bad movie and you can guess the plot?.
This place just confused me. I couldn't decide if it was predictable or just bad.
Barrie's population of blonde's is at an alarming rate. So, for all the blonde lovers, pack your bags for Barrie. The land of endless blonde promises.
This bar seems to be a regular for 40+ crowd. The staff looked a bit unwelcoming at our entrance. There were 2 girls, possibly hostesses that didn't speak English very well and convinced me that this bar was the 'it' place. Lies.
The place had max 5 customers. All 45+.
The place is divided into 2 sections. The dance floor/bar section with no seats and the dinner section with circular booths along the walls and tables/chairs in the middle.
They have a stage for live bands. The band was confusing too.
One old guy with an outdated wardrobe alongside a relatively young hipster with a retro Adidas sweater and gelled up hair. I really would like to hear the story of how they met and decided to form a band. They promised me they were awesome. I assure you, they were no where near the word.
We only stayed for 1 round of drinks that were mixed badly. How do you screw up bar lime and vodka?
The dinner side must be what brings the crowd but unfortunately the snobby staff was enough for me to not give the place a chance.
On the flip side, the bathroom was very cute. Walls all blue and a cute silver chandelier. There is only 2 stalls but I like how well the decor combinations of Victorian and minimalist worked out in the small space.
In memory of Viveks "what this place teaches me about myself " = they should staple the word 'confusing' beside 'Barrie'.
xoxo

Slow service. The patio should be nice but the pillows and table were dirty and the flowers were dead!
I had the pulled pork tacos for an appetizer and found them dry and bland. My wife had the lobster poutine which was quite good.
I had the gnocchi (pronounced ganocki by the server) for a main and it came out completely gluey. Un-edible. My wife had ravioli for a main and it appeared to have been sitting under the warmer for quite some time.
Not a great experience.
