Arturo is awesome!  He is a great chef and a really nice guy.  Yesterday we tried a Tacotino.  It was yummy.

BLEH! So, even after a 1 star review, I was willing to join my buddy and give Arturo's another try.....wow, what a mistake.

I honestly have no clue how this place is still in business, all I can say is the food is absolutely atrocious. I love street food.....actually, I love most, if not all food, yet this truck serves out "meals" that even I cannot enjoy.

None of the food tastes good, far from it, its smells worse and this time, I actually found myself in the line at McDonalds (very rare) since I decided to package up my meal and give it to a homeless man (I hope to god I didn't send him to the hospital with that food; if so, It's all Arturo's fault!

My suggestion - burn the truck, come up with a new idea and start from scratch.

*cross your fingers that it works because given this failed experiment, you guys need all the luck you can get.

    * This isn't carne asada! *

    Menu option:  Burrito.

Choices listed:  Meat or veggie.  Whole wheat or white.

    The dialogue:

Me:  Do you have carne asada?

    Him:  Yes.

Me:  Ok, I'll have a carne asada burrito.

    Him:  Yes.

Me:  (Waiting patiently - no  questions about whole wheat or white, but just going with the flow and assuming likely to get white if not asked)

    Him:  Here ya go.

Me:  (Pay the man).  Thanks.  (Walk away to open up my carne asada burrito.)

Me (to myself):  Oh, they gave whole wheat without asking.  Hm.....
    Photo:  http://www.yelp.ca/biz...

    Me:  (Bite into it)

Me (to myself):  WTF?  This ain't carne asada!  This meat has not seen a grill.  It is stewed.  Ugh....I wanted grilled.  Ugh.  Grumble grumble grumble.

Me (after eating):  (Walk back past truck and decide to ask) Interesting carne asada - I've never had it stewed like that instead of grilled.

Him:  We don't serve carne asada.

Me (to myself):  WTF?!?!?! Did you not see the dialogue from before?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!

    Photo of "carne asada":   http://www.yelp.ca/biz...

I really don't  like when a place says they have something, you order it, you find it isn't what they said, and then they say they don't have that.  That just ain't right.  Just like that wasn't carne asada.

    Bad business practice.

So I went back a second time because I had two groupons.  I wasn't looking forward to it either, which is unusual for me as I luv Mexican.  I tried the tacos this time and they were a little better because they had more meat.  The problem is that now that I could actually taste the meat I realized I didn't like it.  I don't like writing bad reviews but I thought the service was good and the owner tries hard so I will give me feedback.  First of all there is too much rice beans and corn; don't focus on quantity, but rather quality (and this from a big eater).  I think they need to totally redesign their food including using a better meat and better tasting sauces.  It is not good and my friend actually couldn't even eat his and gave it to a bum that probably threw it out too.  My honest feedback:  Keep the truck and the employees and start over again with the sauces and the food.  Sorry

Street food just makes me salivate!  I have been eating it since my young years in Keene, New Hampshire when I used to go to the towns summer sidewalk sale.  In fact I was featured in my local paper biting into a piece o BBQ chicken at the age of 13.

You can find some of the best food on the streets.  The reason is that the owners of these trucks specialize and don't try to be everything to everyone.

The best $4 you can spend at lunch is for a taco at Arturo's to go!  A Mexican friend of mine was visiting and he dove into the tortilla soup and had a little orgasm.  Now that is a compliment!

If you are a party planner or office manager why don't you talk with Arturo about parking in front of your office and letti g your boss splurge?

A deconstructed burrito, or a Burrito Salad, is essentially the burrito without the tortilla.

Your choice of Rotisserie Pork, Sirloin Beef or Tinga Chicken, and different hotness of their homemade salsas. The rest of the 'salad' comes with rice, black beans, guacamole, sour cream, corn, lettuce, tomato, mozzarella.

It's a good sized portion, with a bit of everything. Just remember to mix everything up because it tastes so much better. The pork was tender and flavourful, and went well with the whole salad. Just wished there was more meat.

This was at the Live Summer event at Stanley Park, and I paid $10 for my food. I'm hoping it's regularly not that much because I won't be paying that much for street food.

I will admit, I am a cilantro addict.  I've tried counseling, rehab, but nothing has worked.  Today this gringo had a relapse.

I tried to resist, but I was compelled by the power of pork.  I needed 500cc of Burrito, stat.

I gotta agree with some of previous reviews, the meat was kinda skimpy.  The meat itself was tasty, but it was just crying for more sauce and acidity.  They had a huge bushel of cilantro behind the food counter, but I didn't taste much of it on Burrito.   The rice and beans overwhelmed everything else.

Now I'm jonesing for some proper mexi flavor.

I was a huge fan of this place when it opened. Lots of meat, good taste and always felt full after eating. The last couple of times I have been there has been more onions less pork and rice in their burritos. After eating them I was still hungry.

I would stick to the quesadilla or some of their specials as they are better values.

Arturo stop cutting back on the good stuff! Raise the prices if you have to but eating a burrito of rice and onions is not all that tasty. Where's the beef?

I visited this truck back in Oct.  Food truck + Mexican = how could I not! I made a pitstop here w/ some friends for a taco de puebla and a mild beef burrito.

Unfortunately, even for this Vancouverite's underdeveloped Mexican palate, it was a bit of a hit-&-miss.  The ratio of the burrito fillings seemed off - too much rice & beans - which made me uncomfortably full without the flavour pay-off.  The taco de puebla was good, but expected the rotisserie pork to be moister that what it was.

The order window was also ridonkulously high back in the day..but seems like they've fixed that!

I find the food to be quite good, and very fresh.  My personal favourite is the 'gringas' with pork.  Their pork is rotisserie grilled with spices and onions.

Sadly, since they raised their prices by about 15-20% this is no longer a good deal.  Personal opinion: food cart prices should remain below $8. Once the prices approach 9-10, I can go to any Asian noodle shop and have a great sit-down meal, including tip for less than 10.

    Hello Tacotino!
    Yummy.
I went after 5pm. I was hungry but had dinner plans so i decided to try a Tacotino. Just a little sumthin' sumthin' to get me to dinnertime.

OMG. So freaking flavourful. It was so de-lish, that I went back then next day for lunch. There was no skimping on meat, it was hot and it was so fresh. I had to have more!

I had chicken the first time (because they had run out of pork by 5pm) and I had pork the second day. I vote for chicken personally. I'm just not a big fan of pork in general. Both were tasty but I'd surely go back for the chicken, again, and again.

Arturo's is perfect for a snack. $4 tax included for a delicious bundle of hot joy.

I went and had a burrito.  It wasn't very good, both the pork and the beans were bland.  I tasted the vegetarian burrito that my friend ordered, it was better.  Any street burrito truck where the veggie burrito is better than the rotisserie pork burrito is not doing it right.

Stopped by yesterday for a veggie burrito. It was tasty with a great filling of different vegetables. The hot sauce was actually hot. My one complaint is that it costs the same as the meat version ($8.50). Overall decent burrito but I could pay the same and have a full meal with service somewhere else.

Great ingredients, quality presentation, and great value out of a Mexican food truck? I never thought I'd say that in this town, but here it is. Looking for a lunch filler-upper with your choice of toppers and sauces for 8 bucks? I'd say it's hard to beat.

I ate at Arturo's a while back and while I'm excited to see a mexican food cart, I have to admit for me it was only ok. The flavours were a little bland and while I requested their spiciest options I found it only mildly warming. I had the chicken burrito and over all it tasted ok, just nothing I would go out of my way to have again.
