Good place for a quick lunch, chat with your friends, business meetings or just chilling. It can get extremely crowded and noisy though. And it can be a bit hard to secure a table when you visit during busy hours (12-2 PM and at night in summer). They offer free wi-fi. But don't even bother bringing your textbooks, lecture notes, documents, etc. to study/work at Aroma. It's not really a good environment to focus.
The coffee seems a bit watered down to me. If you like mild coffees with toned down stings of caffeine, you will enjoy Aroma. I usually have cafe au lait. It is pretty good. And you also get a free chocolate for every drink! The chocolate is really yummy.
The service is pretty good. Staffs are friendly. Drinks+foods come out at a fast pace. The tables are always dirty though. They don't get wiped too often. -

Stopped in here for a cup of coffee last month on a beautiful fall day. First thing I noticed was how busy this place was, maybe even a little too noisy inside. It was quite a nice day for November, so I can't blame people for wanting to get out and socialize.
Service was alright, not bad, but not super nice either - they were pretty busy and the staff did look a little frazzled at times. Coffee was made relatively quickly and we opted to sit at the tables situated outside so that we could hear our conversation. Patio seating was also busy on this day as well, but felt a little more comfortable than inside.
Our Americanos tasted pretty standard, so nothing amazing there, but you do get a little chocolate with your order which was kind of nice. Either way, I will most likely be back again the next time I am in Toronto due to the proximity of this shop to my friend's place. -

I'm a little disappointed with how things run at Aroma. Judging from the decor and the stores' locations, not to mention the prices, you would think that the atmosphere would be a little classier. Admittedly, it is a nice place to hang out with friends for a nice cup of coffee, if the noise doesn't bother you. It is anything but quiet and the constant yelling - mic or no mic - of (customers') names destroys the whole ambience and makes the chic cafe seem like a greasy diner where the cook hollers, "Order's up!" The dinging bell and loud clanging of dishes and cutlery doesn't help much either. If I wanted to have a quiet day of coffee and reading, I would rather go to Starbucks instead of Aroma (Shops at Don Mills). All in all, it has good coffee and food (though my portobello sandwich was slightly salty for my taste). It's a nice (but not quiet) place to hang out but I would not come back (to this location) if I wanted to relax or have a quiet chat with a friend.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! i used to go to Starbuck's for my Lattes but this place rocks! The very first time we discovered Aroma was in Israel when we had their blended iced coffee. Soooo good, for just over 100 calories. When they opened in Toronto I was thrilled. Starbucks who? Anyway, their lattes, salads (The Aroma Special), the sandwiches (Avocado) are so YUMMY! The place is great for several reasons: The staff are friendly, the food is fresh. You can have breakfast, lunch or dessert and coffee all in one place. The prices are reasonable, they bake their own bread. You also get a tiny piece of yummy chocolate with a coffee. How can you go wrong with that?

I have been to Aroma Coffee at many different locations (downtown, Vaughan, Annex) but sorry to say that, this is the worst one.
First thing is the customer service, the girl that called me up to pick up my drinks, she messed up my order with another customer (both myself and the customer in front of me ordered two drinks each), so she swapped one of our drinks. That's fine if she apologized, but instead, she's just finding excuses like "oh I didn't make both drinks, the other barista made the other drink on this order", normally I'd let that go, but there's a long line up there already, at least 6 people waiting for their drinks, and there were at least 3 baristas working behind the bar, it's just showing me that they were not experienced at all and hence very inefficient. It's just not too professional.
In terms of coffee quality: I ordered the Cafe Au Lait, it tastes like hot milk! I can barely taste any caffeine in it. I didn't think of complaining because I thought maybe that's how they make it. I spent the afternoon at the coffee bar, and saw the way they work there, just making me believe that they are very likely to be new hires and didn't really know how to make good coffees. So I should have gone up to them and ask for extra shot!
Environment - the store was extremely noisy the day I was there. It was full at certain times, and some noise from people chatting. But even during the less busy periods, there were lots of noise from the bar/kitchen, and they also dropped a cup of coffee and noise from the glass being shattered. The coffee bar isn't very spacious and it's all enclosed with glass windows top to bottom, so it's extra noisy with echo from people talking and the espresso machine. -

I do like the booth/section like set up at Aroma Espresso Bar which is located at The Shops of Don Mills.
The lighting though is a little white and bright for my taste, especially after I have a drink or 2 at the other bars in the area and just want to chill a little.
The Cappuccino was delicious and of course that chocolate came with it made the experience awesome.....
I wish all places would give me a chocolate... dark chocolate preferred!
Checking in on Yelp with the Free WIFI is as sweet as my little treat!!
