If you want to try out traditional Chinese pastry, Aroma Bakery is the place to go.
When you enter the parking area, you would already smell the aroma of freshly baked goods...
All their pastries and cake are all baked in house. They are famous for wintermelon cake (wife cake). With a flaky layer outside and wintermelon a little chewy inside and not too sweet. They also now has a husband cake which is salty instead of sweet.
There are also seasame ball with red bean, chinese big sponge cake, tiny little BBQ pork/Curry Beef/Ham and Egg buns. They are all smaller sizes than the other bakery. But they tasted so much better as there is a better balance between the fillings and the bread.
If you have really sweet teeth, you will be a little disappointed as most of the sweets are not as sweet as the western/european counterpart!

Cantonese Pastry Shop that has a brand name that slightly resembles Hong Kong traditional brand. It does provide some of the same traditional Pastry favourites that Southern Chinese enjoy and use for some of the more traditional celebrations.
There is quite a selection of WIFE Cake, Husband Cake, and more Flaky Pastries where some contain sweet interiors while others have a mix of savoury and sweet. These items line one side wall display cases while the other is the usual Chinese Bakery Buns and Cookies.
While it is an excellent place to get those more Specialty Pastries, I find that the regular Bakery Buns and Cookies are slightly higher in value just because the sizes are less generous than others of the same genre. -

Cantonese cake and pastry shop inside a small mall. Ordered a large birthday cake in advance and had no problems whatsoever. Good cake.
