We're from Vancouver where there's a Japanese Restsurant on every block so this will be a great comparison! The food was good and fresh, nothing out of the ordinary that you could find just about everywhere! Service was good and the food was good. Very reasonably priced too.

I would often eat at Arigato Sushi when I lived in Kamloops from 2006 to 2008. The Sushi was pretty good and I could easily grab some take out if I didn't feel like eating in. I moved away for a few years and when I came back I was looking forward to eating there again. I have been twice in the last 3 months and I was disappointed both times. The quality has really gone down. The sushi was poorly put together and didn't taste very fresh. The restaurant wasn't not clean and the bathroom was disgusting. (If they can't be bothered to clean the bathroom how clean do they keep their food prep area? On my last visit I sat in a booth that had a strong odour of urine. After asking to be moved to another table I noticed that the chair I was sitting in was all sticky as though juice has been spilled on it and not properly wiped up. The restaurant was significantly less busy than it used to be. I remember lining up to get a table or place an order. Both times I have been in the last few months there were maybe 6 other people in the whole restaurant. Guessing I'm not the only one who has noticed a change in quality and cleanliness. I'm not going to bother going back a third time.

Eat here regularly. In my opinion the best Japanese restaurant in Kamloops. Crazy California Roll is awesome! Their Green Tea is also excellent. Prices are are very reasonable for the interior.
