Mom had the turkey club which was very tasty. Waitress said turkey was roasted and sliced in house- not imported cold cuts- Mom was happy with that. I had a taste and man, I love real pan-fried bacon- there's no better way to prepare it! I ordered the chicken caesar salad and we got a side of fries with gravy. The salad was pretty standard, but tasty. The fries with gravy were the hit of the show. Nothing fancy at all, but the fries were crispy, and the gravy was dark, thick, and beefy... If only they added cheese curds, it would have been a perfect poutine. YUM!

Again, not fancy but good solid diner-ish food.

If a sitcom along the lines of "Cheers" or "Seinfeld" were to be shot in Lewiston, it'd be filmed here at Apple Granny's, the unofficial hub of this sleepy little suburb near the Canadian border, best known for its proximity to Artpark. The food's cheap and filling, and the staff is friendly (and according to other reviews, often pretty funny). Locals bring their friends here, alcoholics bring their tendencies, families bring their kids, and business folks even bring their clients, for a bowl of the crab bisque or a short stack of pancakes.

If you're looking for gourmet food, you may want to trundle on down to locavore haven Carmelo's. If you're looking for decent beer, the Brickyard (across the street) is better. But if you're in Lewiston and not looking for anything in particular, you'll probably find something good at Apple Granny's.

Tried all restaurants in lewiston and this food was second under brickyard.  The fried sandwiches are good.  Roast beef was more flavor over the rachel.  Relaxed environment.

    No mildew stench?  Check.

We haven't been to Apple Granny's in forever and while driving to Lewiston from NFNY, Barry asked "where"?  Apple Granny's?  NO.  Steelhead?  Ehhh...I've always hated the bar...Barry:  "I'm not going to that brick place, and I really don't feel like going to Water Street."  Mary:  I don't care, really, let's just eat...

After the mildew trauma at Steelhead, we swiftly walked to Apple Granny's.  We haven't been there in forever, and fondly remember Julie the bartender who can go toe to toe with Barry and "bar humor."  I think she's an original employee if you get what I mean.

Disclaimer:  if you're intention is to have a great cocktail, think again.  Apple Granny's has those stupid donut control pour rings and they SUCK, so stick with beer or wine... or just beer becase the wine selection is really really scary.

I got the reuben and slaw, soooo wanting the fries...whatEVER.  The reuben was made with thick sliced rye, not too much sloppy dressing, perfectly tender corned beef, but could have used more kraut.  Still it was easy to eat.

Barry ordered the perfectly boring hot roast beef seved between two thick slices of white bread - a notch above Wonder.  I thought the gravy looked too dark, but he said it was great.  He didn't even touch his fries!!  I may have eaten one...

Julie is quick with the placemats, silverware, napkins S & P, Ketchup and horseradish before the food comes out.  She's a pro.

I don't know what to say about the decor.  I pretty much hate it, but the food and the experience won out.

Apple Gran's (as we like to call it) is the best place for sandwiches in Lewiston. My co-workers and I have enjoyed a quick lunch here sooo many times and Apple Granny's is quite consistent with food and service.

The "Granny Melt" is pretty much the best thing on the menu. I would suggest rye bread with turkey and a side salad. It is a grilled cheese with meat, bacon, tomato and your choice of bread. So delicious.

The wings are also very good if you are looking for that type of thing.

I would not order the "italian" food section, not their strong point.

I liked this restaurant. It's very homey and they have photographs hanging up that you will probably recognize. And the waitress was friendly.

As an appetizer, we had an Awesome Blossom, which is basically a blooming onion. The onion was good, but I did not care for the horse radish sauce. Instead, I dipped it into into my ranch dressing that came with my salad. My salad was good as well.

For the entree, I ordered the broiled shrimp. The shrimp was large and I was happy to see that the shells had been removed. Most restaurants refuse to remove shells from shrimp, so I was thankful that I did not have to get my hands dirty. They were supple and delicious, but it really wasn't enough to fill me up. However, shrimp entrees never seem to be filling no matter where you go.

My friends ordered a chicken caesar salad, a Granny melt, and a Monte Cristo. They had no complaints, so I assume they liked their orders.

The only drawback was that the place was so crowded that we had to wait about forty minutes to be seated. However, this was during the Lewiston Art Festival, so you're going to expect a long wait no matter where you want to eat. But I think we made the right choice.

I really need to start eating when I frequent local establishments, since this is like my eleventy-thrillionth review where I've "drink, drank, drunk" but not "eat, ate, at."

If you like doing shots and quaffing cocktails in your great-aunt's Kozy Kountry Kitchen, come here by all means.

    Otherwise, no.

We had lunch there. I thought the decor was appropriate for the beautiful town of historic Lewiston.

The waitress was very nice and for this kind of homey comfort restaurant fit in just right.

The burger was good even though it was a bit overcooked. The fries were great and the Dutch apple pie was very very good.  The other folks got soup, salad, sandwiches and a patty melt. Everyone liked their food.

No great culinary awards may be won here but I certainly would come back.

Sit at the bar, have some wings or a burger. Dave the bartender is the nicest guy and very attentive. The wings are the best in WNY. The burgers are always juicy and cooked to perfection. Yes the crowd here tends to be older, but they know a good thing and keep coming back.

Even our kids enjoy sitting at the bar and talking to Dave. Our youngest even gets upset when she finds out we went and saw Dave without her.

We consider Apple Granny's our local pub!

I absolutely  hate this restaurant. They can't even get a drink correct. Someone I was with sent their steak back three times before it was decently cooked. The decor is some sort of crazy rustic, old lady, garbage that's covered in dust. It seriously looks like they went to a yard sale, bought anything that looked awful, threw it around the place, and then covered it in crap.

Known for its fresh haddock Friday fish frys. It has an excellent fish fry! The baked fish is usually good, although I've gotten it on occasion and it was watery.  I'm not a real fan of this place otherwise, but it's ALWAYS busy around dinner. Not trying to be insulting, but the older folks love this place, and flock to it by dinnertime! There's consistently a wait on weekends. Basic fare. Don't order the Taco Salad: I think it's gross. The raviolis and sauce taste like it's out of a can, literally. When I go here, it's usually early and for convenience with the family or extended family. It's a place to get grub, NOT to get excited about dining.

Can you say, "APPLE GRANDPARENTS"???  It was like eating Thanksgiving dinner at my Aunt's house.  Great Uncle, Great Aunt, Grandma, Grandpa, all the older Aunt's...you get the picture...  It must have been too early to go there, because almost all the patrons were  over 65 years old (Must have been early bird specials).  Food was, "eh" ; service was a little slow for me; I ordered Honey Glazed Chicken and it might have been just on the brink of being under cooked.  No "pink" juice coming from it, but I almost sent it back.  Rice Pilaf I found out, is UNCLE BEN'S!!!  What ever happened to "made from scratch"??? I can make rice pilaf...why can't they?  Over all, I would come back if I HAD to.  Might be better off going to "BRIO" across the street for Italian...

Grabbed lunched here since we were too late to make it to breakfast anywhere (oops). We had the seafood chowder, a tuna sandwich, and a club. Everything was just ok. Not great, not bad. Service was decent, but not super friendly or anything. Oh, and we were also apparently way too young for this place - we didn't have a cane, a walker, or our own oxygen. Our bad.
