If you want to head out to a bar in Hamilton and not have 17 year olds running into you drunk *cough* HESS VILLAGE *cough*, people stepping on your feet *cough* HESS VILLAGE *cough*, or those same 17 year olds screaming like school children as though they are in a Famous Players watching a horror movie *cough* HESS VILLAGE *cough*, then do yourself a favour a head to Augusta street and check out the various pubs and bars that cater to a more mature crowd that can handle their alcohol.
Aout'n About is a great little pub that has two floors with a bar on each and a nice sized patio. I prefer heading upstairs, as it seems a little quieter and in turn, easier to get a drink! Drinks are reasonably priced at $4.75 for a pint of beer or a cocktail. The staff is friendly and the crowd is one that can enjoy itself without getting belligerent.
So if you want to mix things up, avoid Hess, enjoy a good crowd, and get some good bang for your buck, head to Aout'n About! -
Review from Sam D.
Hamilton, ON
Small, built into a house, but really decent. The drinks were reasonably priced, and the atmosphere was pretty casual and laid-back, but the big draw is the jukebox, which offers a crazy variety of music including some awesome indie stuff - Broken Social Scene, White Stripes, Modest Mouse, etc.
