Strange that that the yelp page said it was closed. As far as I can tell it just moved.

This THE core skateshop in Vancouver. Culture rich. Gotta check it out if your visiting and are into skating. You can feel good supporting a place like this.

Listen, if you, like me, are not much of a skater, at least go to Antisocial to check out the art!

This Main Street store's walls are lined with skate decks and kicks, which flank a central-island display case of skate vids, wheels, hardware, wallets, etc.

The rest of this so-called "skate shop" is more art gallery than skate park. The rear of the store hosts exhibits from local and out-of-town artists, and Antisocial also sells zines and comics by independent and underground publishers.

I don't skate, but I do buy a couple of pairs of Vans a year. They have a great selection and fair prices, and neither my husband nor I have ever received anything but low-key, friendly customer service from the owner (who I don't know personally.) Just sayin'.

Absolutely the worst customer service I have experienced  in over 20 years. Seriously. This business certainly lived up to its name. The clerk was about as antisocial as they come.

When I walked into the store, the clerk gave me a look that suggested I was an unwelcome intruder. " What do you want ?," growled Miss Congeniality. Some remedial customer service would have been a good start. I  asked her whether the store carried a certain product. She spat out a terse "No !"

I then asked her if she could refer me to any skate shop that might carry that product. This simple request really seemed to put her over the edge, and she went into mono-syllabic battle mode:  "No !!"   I walked out.

It is interesting to note that I subsequently visited 4 other skate shops in Vancouver. All of them had far better customer service than the Antisocial Skateboard Shop, as well as product selection, with one of them offering some of the best customer service that I've experienced in years. Talk about extremes in customer service.
