I love my pretty, pretty nails.  So shiny and clean.  It's been a week now and they are still looking like I just had them done.  This is a great place to drop in, but yes, be prepared to be there a while.  I don't mind because the person doing my nails was very meticulous. She checked with me if the length was good, if the shape was right and at the end if the shine was right.  Most places just go though the motions, but they really try to do everything right.  They spent so much time on buffing my nails, I swear I could see my reflection.

Long lasting, inexpensive manicures - what more could you ask for?

I used to go to their previous location when I needed a cheap mani pedi and fast. Sure, it wasn't the best but for $25, who could complain?

When they recently moved, I followed them and got a mani pedi. Unfortunately, the quality of the services has really gone downhill. My polish was translucent (which, for sparkly bright blue doesn't look great), there were spaces on the sides of my nails which hadn't been polished and (most importantly), the lady who did my pedicure gave me such a deep cut in my cuticle that it hurt for two weeks.

If you can't give a pedicure without making me bleed, you are just too careless to deserve my money.

Consistently good and long lasting pedicures. I put my manicures through a lot so they last, but not as long. That's pretty much my own doing though!

The staff is always friendly and the women give the greatest massages! I love the spa chairs and after a tough workout, I like to treat myself once a month to some relaxation and girly time.

It's cheaper than most places in Berkeley or SF and never so busy that I have to wait, if at all. The warm lotion is a plus and they have a decent array of polish to choose from. It's not super fancy, but suits my needs just fine!

I love this place.  LOVE IT.  I've been coming here at least once a month (usually more often) since 2010, and I have never been disappointed with my mani/pedi.  They are very thorough, friendly, and on more than one occasion have fixed a nail for me for free when I bumped it on something after leaving the shop (I know, I should just sit still while my nails are drying, but seriously, who has time for that?)

Besides the mani/pedis, I think they also do a really good job waxing.  For the price, it can't be beat.  The new location is nice, too - it's a little more spacious and I think they have a new spa chair (or two).

Definitely a fan of this place! The ladies working there are very nice and friendly. They definitely do not talk smack about you either.

Definitely my go to place when I'm in Berkeley. $25 for a mani pedi? Yes please! They also have a great collection of OPIs. Their pedicures are all in the spa chair and it's cute that they use lemon and mint to soak your hands and feet.

I enjoy their warm lotion massage a lot but my friend's arm broke out in a rash? from their lotion.

Affordable, convenient, and meticulous, this is definitely a place to check out!

Pretty good mani/pedi and not too expensive either. 25 for a mani pedi or 20 for just a pedicure.

I went with my mom and they were in a bit of a hurry, but overall a relaxing experience.

I lived on Northside for two years and it was hard to just walk into a nail/hair salon and find reasonable prices. Even little neighborhood nail salons would charge something like $50 for french tip manicures, and as a college student, that just won't fly.

Then one day I walked into Anna Bella, was told a French tip manicure was only $10 or so, and sat down. The service was pleasant and professional, my manicure was impeccable, and the prices were terrific. I highly recommend this place for girls with slim wallets and good taste.

I noticed "Anna Bella Nails" while waiting at the bus-stop outside the shop, I went in to ask the price of a manicure and pedicure and was to surprised to hear $25!! What a sweet deal!

Since then, I have been there about three or four times and would definitely recommend it!

The shop isn't extremely fancy but it is neat and clean (always a plus!). The massage chairs are a amazing, only, they did not switch it on the last 2 times that I went :(

They are fairly fast and do quite a meticulous job, however, I would prefer it if they spent a little extra time massaging my legs. The warm lotion is sheer pleasure..
They put in mint leaves, lemon and orange slices in the dipping water which is a really nice touch and smells quite refreshing.

The girls are fairly moody and range from being very friendly to completely indifferent, however, it doesn't bother me much.

They have a large collection of OPI nail polishes to choose from and I swear, my toe nails looked perfect even after a month! Wish I could say the same for my finger tips but oh well :)

    All in all, a 3/5

They have this mani-pedi special for $25. Does a pretty decent job. It depends on which manicurist does it, my nails can last as long as 2 weeks. Weekday afternoons are the best time to come. They tend to rush the job when people walk in, especially when customers come in pairs.

Yay for massaging chairs, except they're in intervals of 10 minutes, so I would have to keep pressing the remote during my pedicure. I love their massages. I rarely get a nice massage on my legs at a nail salon since I have some muscular calves. I felt this one for sure. One time I almost knocked out while getting my nails done. Very relaxing.

After not-even-that-much arm twisting, Kat F and I decided to get manicures. (I forgot to bring a nail-cutter to SF. This is easier. Whatever, STFU.)

Kat, the manicure maven, picked out a swell spot in Berkeley.  This was my First Time and I literally had no idea what do expect. Would they sandblast my fingers? Is acid involved? Will my nails be hot pink by the end of it? Turns out a manicure just involves some cutting, scraping, bottles and bottles of fluids poured liberally over my fingers as a Vietnamese woman silently (wo)manhandles them. Then there was the arm and wrist massage which was quite lovely. She offered me a clear coat, but I declined; my masculinity was already at an all-time low.

The whole rigmarole was $10 which apparently is cheap. You do this regularly, Kat? Unbelievable. Minus one point because I don't want to seem like a fairy.

Obligatory Title Pun: Ciao BELLA! (This is the only time I have ever, or will ever, say this.)

Menu Readability: I don't remember any menus. All I remember is the colour orange.

Need to mention: There are massage chairs! Next time.

What this place teaches me about myself: I put the MAN in manicure.

As I type this I'm actually trembling, because I wonder what sort of witchery the nail technicians at Anna Bella must have performed on my digits to explain the fact that FIFTEEN days later my nail polish is till 90% intact.

Please, I'd love to hear an explanation for this. How's it even possible? Even on my most gingerly of days I still manage to wear down my manis by opening a can of pop, peeling off a fruit sticker or giddily tearing open a parcel from Etsy. So how in heckfire is my two week old mani still standing upright??

I came here without an appointment and even though the salon was buzzing with activity I was still able to squeeze in almost immediately. I brought my own polish (Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in "Wet Cement") and my technician went to town on my cuticles. Really thorough (and much needed) work here and the hand massage was otherworldly, though I would have preferred a more viscous cream for my hands. I like less moisturized/slippery massages and the lotion was a bit cheap-feeling. Polish application was perfect - zero touchups required and no peeling back at the tips either.

I'd say 4 stars overall, with an extra bonus for outrageous staying power. Here's hoping my future manis at Anna Bella are equally memorable - I plan to come back to Berkeley for manis as well as threading nearby at M&M Thread Salon (http://www.yelp.ca/biz...).

I stumbled across Anna Bella Nails in the hunt for a relatively inexpensive and well-rated nail salon. I never realized how many times I had walked past this salon without even realizing it! It is tucked away near Brazil Cafe and Zatar on Shattuck. Anyways, my roommates and I wanted to get our nails done and decided to go here. I called in at about 12 and made an appointment for the 3 of us for 5:30. I don't think appointments are necessary because when we got there nobody else was in the salon; but, I wanted to be sure this would work out! We got there and all chose our respective colors and then our manicurists. I really liked mine. She asked me if I wanted to pay for the manicure beforehand because my nails would be wet after. I was grateful she asked this to prevent the awkward moment at the end where you are searching for money and trying not to have anything touch your just-painted nails. It was $10 for a manicure which was a great deal. I paid her and she started.

I'm sure her work was cut out for her since I haven't gotten a manicure since my high school prom. She put my fingers in a little water bath with a cucumber, lemon, mint, and small stones which was interesting. She asked if I wanted my nails cut or just filed and I told her just filed. I liked how she consistently asked me what I wanted and wanted to make sure I liked her work. Then she began cleaning my cuticles and whatnot. I thought one lotion she put on my hands was red because my nails were a weird color. But no-a few of my nails were bleeding near the skin. Yes, bleeding! That's one reason they don't get 5 stars from me. My manicurist was painstakingly careful when doing my nails (which I liked) and was very good about cleaning up the sides afterwards too.  When she was all done she asked if there were any mistakes and if I liked it. I noticed afterwards that there was a very tiny part of my nail missing polish but for $10 it wasn't the end of the world. I tipped her and then waited for my friends who also really liked their pretty nails! I will definitely come back here but will tell them not to clean my nails so hard...A great job for the price paid. It has been almost 5 days and my nails have not chipped. I'm happy!

Just finished my manicure, and I am still bleeding from cuts on 4!! fingers. I can forgive once, but this is totally unacceptable. Funniest part- the manicurist charged the full amount, and then gave me change in singles, as if expecting a tip.  This is pretty much the single worst manicure I've ever had.

The owner and workers are really friendly.

I am always impressed by the really thorough job they do on cleaning my cuticles. Better than a lot of other places in the area. Nails chip pretty fast not sure if that is mine or their manicure techniques. Uncertain if items are cleaned after use.  Cannot beat the price however.

They never want to turn down any customers so some have to wait a bit longer than expected to be fit in. Even after their closing hour, they take customers sometimes, probably need the business.

I really enjoyed my experience here. Everyone was very nice, and my pedicure was excellent. I walked in at 4:45 on a Wednesday, and only had to wait about 5 minutes. The massage chair was wonderful! Overall, the ambiance is not as nice as more expensive places, but it was clean and very comfortable. This is an excellent place to get an affordable pedicure. I will definitely be coming back often.

I got a manicure and pedicure, which they said over the phone and outside of their store as $25.  Seems like a good price, but in the end they charged me $43....hmm looks like they have hidden charges.

    Pedicure: (3/5)
I asked for them to remove my callouses, so they told me that was an extra $5.  Hmm last time callous removals came part of my pedicures, but everywhere is different and at least they told me the +$5 up front. Overall, I'd give their pedicure a 4 for their meticulousness except for the fact they put lotion that was too hot over my legs and smeared the white nail polish on my toe under one toe nail.

    Manicure:
Overall 2/5. They put 4-5 coats on my nails vs the 1 coat on my toe nail, which is odd.  Sure, ur fingernails probably grow fast then ur toe nails but i feel like my finger nails can't breath and it took too long to dry.  I ended up wrinkling one or two of my french manicured nails.  Plus the white tips aren't even on both ends of the nails and I have a 2 small bubbles in the nail polish of 2 nails and a lint stuck in another nail and I had to ask them to correct a smear they over looked at the end.
I also asked for them to buff my fingernails thinking I could opt for that instead of a clear nail polish coating.  I don't think they understood I meant for the buffing to subsitute for it since their English isn't that good.  However, I wish they told me that buffing is an extra $5.
O, I nearly forgot, they cut the cuticle too far on my pinky and I started bleeding.

In the end, it was $25 + $5 callous removal + $5 buffing (didn't tell me up front) + $5 for a french manicure (where did that charge come from?) + some hidden $3 charge = $43....
Overall if the price was $25-30, I woudln't complain about their service for that price, but the fact that they weren't near perfect  AND had hidden charges really turns me off.  Now if everything was perfect, I wouldn't be as turned off with the hidden charges.  However, I don't recommend coming here.

Gave a good-quality pedicure, but despite the ample staff, had to wait way too long!  Saw two other ladies walk out for the same reason during my visit.  The price is good for a low-frills spot (similar to what I was used to in San Francisco), but caters to people with plenty of time to spare.  As a busy working mother in need of a quick pedicure before a big event, this place didn't work for me.  I had to leave before they could actually paint my fingernails!

everyone knows that you don't always do work while you're at work (hello, aren't we all yelping from work right now?) for some people, the preferred way to kill time is facebook. for others, a simple chat at the water cooler works. but me? i like to get a manicure.

when i'm tired of doing actual work, my favorite way to kill half an hour (while still on the clock of course) is to run down to the nail shop a block from my office, and get a quickie manicure. ABN has a wide variety of OPI, essie and other colors, and i have never had to wait at all to be seen. they take the time to massage your hands and forearms (my fave!) and are always friendly and speedy, something that someone sneaking out of work might appreciate!! plus, my favorite of all, they have a frequent customer card, and so every ten services you receive a discount of ten dollars. which is a free manicure!

**should my boss or any future boss read this, please know that my actual laziness was embellished upon for the sake of yelp creativity.

They did an awesome job period. I'm a mom, and last time I did my nails (acrylic) was over 2yrs! I decided to take advantage today since my little monster was asleep :D it worked about half way, until he woke up screaming. The manacurist was in speed mode to get me done! Even w/all the screaming nails look fab! Maybe the place isn't fancy looking, but the staff was quick and nice. Total cost : $25! Thanks yelpers for another recommendation.

I have been going to AnnaBella's for 15 years. I have occasionally strayed and tried other places, but I keep coming back because NO ONE can do my nails better. Crystal is the only one I let touch my hands and feet. She's the best at shaping your nails so you have beautiful slender fingers instead stumpy-looking digits. Her pedicures are to die for, she has hands that are quite strong and can deliver a wonderful lower-leg massage. Crystal is also quite adept at waxing any part of you that you desire to be hair-free. Aside from all that, she's a kook and really fun to talk to. The shop can get busy on weekends, so I recommend making an appointment about 3-4 days before you want to come.

This is a great place for a pedicure/manicure combo. For $25 it comes with a good massage and excellent service, plus lots of opi hues to choose from. They are fast and efficient and the women who work there are very friendly and accommodating. On my last visit I decided to do french tip acrylics. First time ever! I decided after seeing a lot of faithful, loyal customers come in for their regular visits. Hahn was my technician that day and she was extremely fast! I was in and out in 45 minutes. The only reason I am not giving this place 5 stars is because I had hoped to get more attention because it was my 1st time. I totally understand, though, since she does this many many times a day, but it'd be nice for newbies to get a bit more special attention. On the plus side, I've gotten a lot of compliments on my nails, much to my surprise. Just last night at Picante, the waitress said that they didn't look at all gaudy or false. I agree. They look like my own, much nicer nails. I highly recommend this place for both pedis/manis and acrylic nails.

I went to Anna Bella for a full gel set and pedicure during my much break. The ladies there were very sweet, even though their English is limited. The gave me a wonderful pedicure. The full nail set was great, not completed perfect, but I had told them that since it was my lunch break  I needed to be done in 45 minutes, so she put those nails on at breakneck speed! I imagine if she hadn't needed to rush, it would have been flawless. Highly recommended as a lunch-time diversion!
