Found this gem on Boston's hidden restaurants website through a link (forgot where, did so much research trying to find a place!) 8 of us from the NY/NJ are in Boston for my daughter's BU graduation and wanted something nice, but not too fancy or expensive, but good. BINGO! Found it.
Great waitress, helpful, sweet and didn't rush us.
Good drinks, inventive!
Food was great! Everyone loved what they ordered! (not perfect, but really good for the prices)
Only con: was too loud. Maybe it was the other 2 large parties trying to yell over each other because when they left it was nice, I guess the acoustics are bad. But I would go back if I were in Boston again!
I named the neighborhood SoBo.....South Boston :) -

A co-worker recommended this place. I met some girl friends for brunch. It was easy to find and they have a parking lot! That was nice.
I had some buffalo chicken tenders and were super salty but, all of my friends said their dishes were great. Our waitress was also very friendly and polite, the place was clean and the noise level was good. Prices are also reasonable.
Overall, I do recommend this place, but if you're checking your Sodium intake, make sure you DON'T order the Buffalo Chicken Tenders! -

Food was amazing and came out fast and hot! And pretzel rolls with that wonderfully delcious garlic/oil dip. Helllooooo pretzel rolls!
I had the risotto which I asked about being vege but forgot to ask about being veg and it came with cheese. So I would just check in with them before ordering.
Our server Ashley was so amazing and helpful!
This was place was so good Im going back tonight! -

Ok, I had brunch here a few weekends ago and based on that, I will give Amrheins another star. Yes, brunch is a bit expensive, however, it is all-you-can eat and features many brunch favorites (although skip the Eggs Benedict, not-so-good) as well as desserts (cheesecake was tasty).
I've been back a couple more times and I did have a scallop dish here that was good. Their risotto (I had a spoonful of my friend's) was a treat as well. All-in-all, not my first stop in Southie, but a good alternative to have in your back pocket if you are looking for a meal.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I agree with you yelpers, the upscale bar food is AMAZING!
I love the atmosphere, dark wood, booths and friendly service.
Skip the chicken buffalo dip which is way too spicy but try the butternut ravioli which is fab! Thanks to Phantom Gourmet we tried this place and LOVED it! -
Review from Anne W.
Quite excited when I walked in.. the place is pretty nice... plus, it has a parking lot... plus, there were a lot of people in there! We were seated immediately.. but then we discovered.. the service is quite awful.
It took forever for the waitress to get our drink order, bring our bread, take our order, and even ask if we wanted the bill or how everything was. Terrible. She was good in asking if I wanted another drink.. I think she just wanted our bill to go up more. Not a fan of that.
The lobster and mac and cheese is NOT amazing. It's just mac and cheese... and barely any lobster. I may have seen 2-3 pieces of lobster meat. It's not worth the price as it's one of the more pricey things on the menu.
We also got the award winning steak tips.. this was also just okay. The steak tips were not cooked consistently between pieces. There were some pieces that were rare.. some that were medium rare.. and some that were medium. Also, not a lot of choices in sides... mostly starches. The mixed vegetables was something they got out of a can I am sure.
They were very festively decorated with Christmas stuff... probably wouldn't come again to be honest.. -

The quality of the food has definitely gotten worse in the past year. My Caesar salad was just wilted warm lettuce soaked in dressing with a SINGLE crouton. The old chef is now at telegraph hill in southie. Really similar menu but cheaper and way better food.

We eat there every now and then and it has always been good. Last night was great! We went in around 8 p.m. the entire place was packed. They literally got us in, sat and fed in 30 minutes...the service was so quick. Not that you want to be out of a restaurant in 30 minutes but very efficient. I got the turkey tips with risotto and it was great! Left overs was even better.
1. The bruchetta with goat cheese and tomatoes was awesome but only two pieces of bread with a ton of tomatoes and goat cheese for $10. Needs to have more bread come with it for the portion and the price.
2. They got new wine glasses which I am a fan of. I hate being served red wine in a small white wine glass and now they have larger wine glasses. -

For BAR FOOD, Amrhein's is pretty awesome. I'd heard so much about their Lobster Mac and Cheese and Pumpkin Rissoto, but didn't realize how incredibly close it was to the T! Literally a two minute walk from the Broadway T stop.
The Mac and Cheese is AWESOME. Get the half order, it's more than enough! The cavatelli is the perfect noodle, and they're quite generous with the amount of lobster. Super cheesy inside, and crispy thick crust on top... YUM. SO GOOD!
Buffalo chicken stuffed potato skins. Just do it.
Service was eh. That being said, I'm going back tomorrow for more Lobster Mac and Cheese! -

Went about 2 days ago on a tip from are hotel manager they promptly picked us up in there shuttle service. The shuttle service is great friendly driver, funny guy got us there and back safely. But enough about the shuttle the decorations as you walk in where beautiful and the revitalized old wooden bar was just astonishing.
As for the food goes me and my wife split a plate of the fried mozzarella balls which where delicious. Then I tried the Chicken Under Brick (wierd name) which took a little long but once it was on the table I couldn't get enough of it. My wife got the Parmesan Haddock she was delighted and couldn't finish it all due to the huge amount of food (its ok i enjoyed the midnight snack). The reason im giving it a 4 instead of a 5 was the chicken was a little long to cook but really good but other than that good food great service I will be back to eat here again!! -

THEY STOLE OUR FOOD, LITERALLY!
I don't know what to say, this was the plot for a Curb Your Enthusiasm episode but it happened to us the other day at Amrhein's. We were celebrating my dad's birthday and went out to eat a family meal. My brother ordered the Lobster Mac n Cheese and went with a full order (this cost $24). One thing you have to understand about my brother is that he is built like a stick, he decided to get the full order because he could bring the leftovers home with him.
So the end of the meal rolls around and both myself and him decided to take the rest of our food back. I ordered the Pumpkin Risotto and also had a fair amount left on the plate. We ask the waitress to pack our leftovers and she comes back with a plastic bag containing the leftovers in two boxes. We never opened the leftovers at the restaurant to check, I mean why would we? I guess we were naive to assume that the restaurant would give us the food we paid for.
We came home and decided to put the food away in the fridge. That's when we noticed that the box containing my brothers food was tiny, compared to mine. This was despite the fact that his portion was much larger and he barely ate a quarter of it. It was at that point we realized that either the waiter or the kitchen staff had basically taken my brothers leftovers for themselves and put a skimpy serving in a small take out box.
I hope this is clear. THEY TOOK OUR LEFTOVERS FOR THEMSELVES! WHO DOES THAT?
We are joking about how this plot mirrored a Curb Your Enthusiasm episode and then we decided to go on Yelp and see if anyone else had a similar experience. I have not read a review like this yet, but there are plenty of 1-2 star ratings, we ended up learning about other shady practices such as not honoring vouchers and not giving customers back exact change (i.e. rounding off totals for themselves). To be honest I don't think the whole thing about the change is that big a deal, but when I compared that to the experience we just had I couldn't believe that this restaurant continues to be in operation.
Basically Amrheins was the most screwed up eating experience I've ever had. I'm looking forward to telling EVERYONE about what happened to us. -

I have been a fan of Amrheins for a number of years largely due to the chef Richard.
His menu and food consistency was excellent. His presentation and talent as a top chef was above excellent. Recently I have had a number of poor experiences and noticed a level of poor quality of food not just in taste but presentation and temperature of my food being served. to the degree I got very sick of which I attribute to my meal I had there.
Not to mention I brought business associates that paid the tab. While no one was openly admitting their meal sucked. Each time I came to this establishment I asked for Richard and the same old answer was he was not working that day. It was not until I walked in the back door of the kitchen looking for him.
I wanted personally to tell him my bad experiences and bad food quality. His signature dishes, pumpkin ravioli and mac and cheese with lobster were a disaster.
Basically through it in a bowl like Campbell's soup and half nuke it.
Need I say more! I am happy to say due to my efforts to find him, I found that he no longer worked there. I new something was wrong. This is a chef will pride in what he creates and serves to please our palettes and gain our continual patronage.
I am sure I am not alone. I finally found his new digs. Words travel fast.
So you can find him at Telegraph Hill Restaurant in South Boston. I went there today to so enjoy my grilled cheese and tomato soup to be nothing but superb. His signature was all over it.
Need I say more!

I've been to Amrhein's about four times, which totally contradicts the two stars that I gave them but I can explain:
I live fairly close to Amrhein's so my going there is definitely one of utter convenience. They're food is always "meh." Food has to rate pretty low to come across as "meh" when you're really hungry. They're not expensive so that's a plus, but then again, if they're not really good I suppose that doesn't matter. Best way to put it, there's food you eat for enjoyment and food you eat to get full. I think you know what I'm implying. Another thing that I hate to mention (please know this is my sincere opinion and not bashing) but feel compelled to mention, is the smell of Amrhein's. On two different occasions I've been here and its smelled like dirty mop! Yup, like they mopped with dirty water or something...totally gross. -

Third time here last Saturday night, my wife, my 9 month old son, and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Great food, will take our parents there sometime...One other note, they have a parking lot, if you drive 5 minutes further into Beantown you'll be parking at a meter and walking to a restaurant or at a pricey garage...Nice having the parking lot for their restaurant...

revisited to see if it improved! NOT.the chicken pot pie was not pie at all since the piecrust was a pre cooked phylo bun that had no relation to the filling.if a restaurant uses those"fake"tasteless baby carrots, they are just lazy and no pride.
the bread pudding was so stale my companion got a knife from another table,so i could cut it!
if bread or rolls came with the meal we never saw it.

Now that I've been coming here quite a bit over the past couple of years, I'm going to bump up my review of this Southie stalwart.
Food has been much better and I'm a big fan of the burgers (yes, they have 2 for some reason), Wiener Schnitzel, as well as the chicken penne pasta dish. All very well prepared.
Service has been much better as of late, but the place seems much more busy over the past 12 months or so - difficult to get a table on weekends without waiting 20-30mins. Barlows and Local 149 haven't seemed to make a big dent on business as of late.
For those of you in Southie, the van service is pretty good if you can plan it out right!Listed in: Regular Haunts in Southie

Review from Steve B.
For what youre getting, its really not worth the price.
The princess and I came in for Sunday brunch yesterday. We were sat in the dining room up the ramp (not sure why, as there were plenty of open booths nearer to the brunch buffet). We just let our server know that we were going up to the brunch line and ordered an OJ & cranberry juice to drink.
We went through and loaded up with all kinds of breakfast goodies as well as some things you normally dont see at breakfast (fried zucchini, fried mac & cheese), and came back to our seat. Dont get me wrong, for a buffet, its good, but its mostly breakfast food, which we all know is cheap. Its also tough to keep eggs benedict on a buffet line. English muffins get soggy, etc. I ordered another OJ before going back up for the desser portion of the line (different cakes, brownies, berries & cream, etc).
Again, not bad, filling & satisfying.
Where I go sour is when the check came. $51.25 for two people. For brunch. Youve got to be kidding. They charge $3.00 per glass of juice! I could understand ~$20/pp for brunch if there was lobster tails and oysters, but for mostly breakfast food (yes theres a carving station and steak tips, but still), I just dont see it. Then, $9 for a glass of cranberry juice, and 2 glasses of OJ just put the final nail in the coffin.
Unless youre going to make 3-4 trips to the buffet, I cannot possible recommend Amrheins for brunch. -

I went here with my girlfriend last weekend and we loved it. When we first walked in it was crowded and I expected a long wait, but we only waited 30 min before getting seated and managed to grab a seat at the bar. Good beer selection, and the cocktails looked good too, although I didn't have one. Atmosphere was dark but cozy, and it was decorated nice for Christmas.
I ordered a meal from the specials. It was a fish that was stuffed with shrimp and other seafoods and breadcrumbs. It was amazing and only cost a little over $20, which isn't bad for a seafood dish. My girlfriend ordered a burger and fries which she said she enjoyed. Overall, good food with reasonable prices. Definately worth it. -

My BIG ISSUE with this place is that if you pay your bill with cash the servers keep your change. They actually keep the coins without asking. So if your bill comes out to be $53.45...they round it up and bring you back change as if your bill was $54.00. I'm sorry but if someone takes something from you without asking that's stealing.
I dine out 15x per month and this is the only restaurant which has this policy. From a conversation I had with the waitress and then a follow up call with the manager I was told the waitstaff doesn't carry change so they round up the bills. Doing some calculations I concluded that this can generate an additional $300 divided up between the waitstaff on a busy day.
Other than the fact they take your money without asking the place is pretty good. The atmosphere is nice. The food average to above average. The pricing isn't cheep but reasonable for a Boston Restaurant. My friends and I visit this place about once a month, more so during the spring and summer. I wish I could give it a better rating but the change issue is like the pebble in a really comfortable pair of shoes.
It may seem petty to some people but i don't want to look over my shoulder to see if people are giving me back the correct change. When I go to a gas station and ask for $10 worth of gas I don't want the attendant giving me $9.50 and keeping .50 cents for himself. I don't expect the teller at the bank to take an additional dollar out of my account when I do a transaction. Call me crazy but I expect that if a bill is $53.45 and I give them $60 that I should receive $6.55 back. -

I have to agree with some of the reviewers below; Amrheins used to be so good, but lately it has been a total miss. We went this past Sunday for the brunch, and the food was either cold, or a total miss on taste. Unfortunate, considering the brunch is $25 per person. I have heard rumors they lost their chef, which may explain the issue. Please Amrheins, get back out their and find a great chef! The location and space is too good to let this place go to waste.

Though Amrhein's has been a Boston landmark I can rate the newer version. The place has that feel of an old Boston bar , with some nice updated appointments.
The staff are friendly and helpful. Our server was on top of our needs and knowledgeable of wine choices and beer selections. Would have expected a larger beer selection
For starters we chose the lobster tail, came recommended , a very good choice. Lobster tail was a good size served with an orange marmalade
dipping sauce.
For my entree I ordered the swordfish w/ Sambuca rice, this is definitely a winner. My wife ordered the lobster mac and cheese, I tried it and is probably by far the best . Rich and cheesy with plenty of fresh lobster meat.
Prices are fair ,food's good, portions are plentiful without going overboard. Overall they've taken something of a Southie landmark into the next era -
Review from Aaron R.
Naperville, IL
So, I'm traveling and am at the mercy of another driver right now, so I ended up here by no choice of my own. Mid you, I'm pretty easy going with that kind of thing, because people don't tend to like BAD places. Nice how that works, isn't it. "I know this joint over here..." So... who knows, I could end up dead, it could be McDonald's, I got NO idea...
Well, we drove up to a typical Irish pub-faced building, with a somewhat out of place patio seating area and parking on the side. The private, no charge parking is refreshing in the middle of a big city!
I walked in expecting a bit of a dive, from the looks of the area. Not dirty, but not upscale, ya know? A mom-n-pop kind of anticipation... turns out, it's a NICE joint - plenty of room, friendly greeting at the door, and has that great dark-wood classic pub look. Not "upscale," but you could wear almost anything here and not be out of place. Awesome.
For (as I learned) a Boston landmark, I think the beer selection could have been better - I tried a couple summer ales (not my thing) but they didn't even have bottles of Sam, except Light. In fact, very few craft brew options.
The food menu, though - wow. Outstanding. I had a really tough time choosing... so many options looked good. Definitely a goof chef, lots of new American upscale/trendy ingredients, but still VERY approachable. Comfort classics (pot pie, meatloaf) and some out-there stuff (sambuca risotto!?) partnered will with some New England classics (lobster mac n cheese looked REALLY good)
I decided on a Blue Moon, the swordfish, and some fresh pan-fried mozzarella - all of which were OUTSTANDING. Our bartender/server was also a real sweetheart, not too intrusive but chatty when she needed to be. Perfect pace/style for a barkeep.
I'm knocking off one point because of the beer selection - with a menu like this, they could really benefit from an expanded craft brew selection. It's trendy to drink something you've never heard of anyways... isn't it!? :) -

Boston, MA
Beautiful old restaurant with really friendly, attentive service. Even during the lunch hour rush our waittress made sure to keep our glasses full and our table cleared of empty dishes.
Unfortunately, the food here is unbelievably over priced for what you're getting. I ordered a run of the mill lunch menu tuna wrap for $16--not worth it. I disagree when people say you're paying for the atmosphere and ambiance--the restaurant was built in 1890, I'm sure they've recovered their fixed costs by now.
It's a toss up whether I'd recommend this restaurant--maybe for an after work cocktail but I'd be hard pressed to pay for a meal here again. -

Visited this establishment the other night and was not disappointed. Having been there in the past I was looking for something new on the menu to try. Found Pork Chops listed on the dinner specials and dove in heartily. Unbelievable! Full of flavor, huge, cooked perfectly, and served with a sweet potato hash that was out of this world! Will return soon and often to sample anything new!

Amrheins has been open since 100 years ago and has an exceptional American cuisine. I had the special, lobster pie. A casserole comprised of lobster/crab stuffing topped with lobster chunks, served with red mashed potatoes and eggplant Parmesan. The lobster was a bit overcooked, but the dish was really tasty. Out other two dinners were little plate crab cakes topped with lobster and chick quesadilla. Both had been pretty excellent with ample food served. We also found the cocktails from the bar had been incredibly generous in size.

Been living in Southie for 1 1/2 years, my first time there. Was always intrigued by the menu, as it's one of the only places in Southie that offers more than Pizza and bar food. Was impressed by the selection and specials, as well as the wine list. We had the buffalo chicken dip for an app - very spicy and chunky, lots of big pieces of chicken. Yum. Had the swordfish special, it was very fresh and tasty! My fellow diners had salmon, veal chop and scallops and were all amazing...
The atmosphere was nice, old Boston with lots of dark wood. I am excited to try out the free shuttle - what could be better?! Also, there is ample parking and service was wonderful. Will definitely be going back - prices are high, but the food stands up to the prices. -

Had a delicious and relaxed lunch at Amrheins today. Service was excellent and friendly. Atmosphere is great...comfortable, warm and friendly - what you'd expect from a restaurant that's been in business since 1890! The fish and chips are light and delicious with a Panko breading, fries are light and not salty. My husband claims the cheese burgers are the best he's ever had in Boston!

OK, I ATE CROW!
Well, not literally but it turns out that the very day I wrote that I would never go to Amrhein's again, I did! You see, it's close to home and we were going to watch the Red Sox game with friends and the bar area is a good size and not too crowded (but still too loud). I know - excuses, excuses.
Anyway, I added a star because ironically enough we had really good service and the food was actually good. Two standouts were the Mediterranean platter and the pumpkin rissotto. Don't get me wrong, my previous review still stands but I guess now I have to admit that this place sucks a little bit less.
PS - My friends were afraid they would recognize me as someone who wrote a bad Yelp review but I don't think that happened.
************************************************** *********************
Three time we've been here and all 3 times it has sucked! I know what you're thinking...if it sucked the first time why did you go a 2nd time and Dear God, why even attempt a 3rd time???
I have no excuse except that it's close to home and our visits were so widely spread apart that we forgot how bad it was the previous time - until we remembered.
Service is terrible. Soup arrives after entrees, waitresses are MIA and forget to bring things - that sort of thing. All the time. The bar side is so loud you can't even hear yourself think and the dining room side is full of blue-hairs who remember what Amrheins was like "back in the day".
The menu tries to be creatives and fails miserably. I noticed another reviewer applauded the very dish I am about to slam! Shrimp scampi crostini should NOT come with a cheese sauce, especially when the menu makes no mention of it. Scampi is made of garlic, wine and oil or butter I think...but not cheese. And once the "heirloom" tomato & mozzarella salad my boyfriend ordered came out with about 3 unripe grape tomatoes like you get at the Stop & Shop salad bar. The food is just not good, no matter how good the menu makes it sound.
Maybe if they stuck to bar food...Wait, on second thought, they can't even do that well. The fries that come with the burger are soggy. You know you're in trouble if you're at a place that can't do French Fries right.
I can honestly say I have now been to Amrhein's for the 3rd and final time.Listed in: Making the most of South…

Review from Jen H.
I'm a fan after only one visit. Amrhein's lured me in with their 100+ years of history, upscale bar setting with a laid back feel, and deliciously scrumptious food.
This is a good spot to take someone that you've been dating awhile, but not necessarily a great place for a first date. I say that because it can get a bit loud, and the atmosphere isn't wowing in terms of a date spot. However, if you have been dating someone for awhile, you want a laid back atmosphere, but a bit nicer... and you're not concerned with environment to assist in wooing your date... this could be a good choice.
The warm fresh bread and olive oil for dipping was perfect, and the olive oil was so good! I then had the filet... 10 oz of awesomeness with broccoli and mashed potatoes. I swear I wanted to lick the plate clean (except for the mushrooms that were orig atop my steak) but that is just not ladylike, so I refrained. My partner in crime for this excursion ordered one of the specials of the day: pumpkin ravioli with chicken -- also said to be very good.
Another bonus to this spot?! It's so close to my house! Only 2.5 miles away, or a few stops on the T and I'm there. If you're taking the T, this is a short walk, so perfect distance to use public transit.

I am thrilled that I have finally been introduced to the goodness that is Amrhein's. Hard to pronounce but easy to fall in love with, Amrhein's is exactly the kind of establishment I could see myself becoming a regular at. Everything from the salads to the lobster bake is just seeping with deliciousness. Even more fabulous; the service! People love working there, and you can tell. It's no wonder why.
It's pub fare that's anything but standard in quality but still manages to keep the affordable price tag. You seriously cannot go wrong.
Hint: get any one of their soups. Trust me. -

Normally I am turned off by restaurants that offer menus longer than two pages long. Too many options lead to analysis paralysis. However, the long list of goodies this place had to offer were not that overwhelming and all seemed to make sense.
Lobster Mac and Cheese, lobster and crab cake, and chicken risotto served in a pumpkin all immediately popped out of the menu. With 6 offerings of beef/steaks, I was surprised I passed up on this opportunity. Instead I opted for the Jumbo Sea Scallops seared in Brown Sage Butter with Lemon, served on a Bed of Braised Baby Spinach and Roasted garlic Mashed.
This is by far, the best meal I have had in months. everything came together in harmonious synchrony. I loved it! -

Yeah. Great food.
I have eaten here twice, and I have been blown away both times!
Th first time was for brunch, and oh me oh my they do that well! There is a HUGE table of buffet foods, ranging from breakfast to lunch and lovely desserts. Also a couple of meat slabs they cut for you and an omelette bar. Its all the basics of a buffet, but REALLY well done.
I also had dinner, outside, with one of my best girls. We both loved our meals. This is THE best lobster mac-n-cheese I have ever imagined! The waitstaff was also super nice, and really really helpful.
This will be a frequent return! -

Met another couple for the brunch buffet last Sunday.
There was quite a variety of food, and for the most part, it was fresh and tasty. The omelet station was awesome and cooked exactly how I ordered it.
Service was phenomenal, as my club soda was never empty and the waitresses were continually patrolling tables for empty plates.
There are two reasons for only three stars:
1. The steak tips. Although tasty (thanks to the marination, no doubt), they were extremely chewy and very fatty. Might have had something to do with the buffet tray they were sitting in, but all the same, I'd stay away in the future.
2. Labels/signage/what am I eating? There was a variety of options on the long brunch buffet table. And for the most part, you can figure out what you are being served. But, there are a few items - ok, several items - that cannot be determined through visual inspection alone. The most disturbing was the tuna salad/chicken salad. I'm a pretty big fan of both, but still, it would be nice to know if what I am adding to my plate will mesh with the other flavors/foods.
Oh, and the Fall/Autumn decorations were awesome. If not for the 85' weather and nasty humidity outside, I might have appreciated it more. -

Great for brunch:
Nothing cures a hangover quite like a mimosa and some eggs benny. Add in bacon, sausage, homefries, croissants, bagels, steak, beef teriyaki, fresh fruit, an array of dessert... and that isn't even a third of what Amrhein's offers at their weekly brunch buffet. Every Sunday from 10:30-2, at $16 per adult, you can fill up as many plates as you please with as much food as you like; for us Umassers- DC mentality! Just bring a couple envelopes for your high-horse friends who are going to preach about starving kids in India.
Also great for dinner:
Large menu with traditional, American fare, including what I thought was a delicious Surf 'n Turf (filet and lobster/crabmeat stuffed shrimp). The lengthy list of specials (which I won't recount, since they've probably been replaced by new), were also very palateable. One thing to steer away from? The Buffalo Chicken Dip. I was a bit disheartened to discover that the so-called 'dip' was in fact an order of wings, in a blender, with a side of chips. Moving forward, I think I'll stick with the non-pureed variety and just order the buffalo chicken whole.
Other pros:
- Outdoor seating is flowery and lovely, with an awning to shield the sun
- Good tunes- Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl" came on twice. Both times, I took the liberty of explaining the lyrics to my mother.
- Bread pudding was warm and mapley
- Big parking lot, which means you have an extra $15 to spend on beer
Con?:
- Blonde bartender is a bitch. Our waitress thought so too. -

Another S date-- this time a double-date with his friends from work.
The menu doesn't appear especially vegetarian-friendly, but we did well with the roasted vegetable risotto (me) and fetuccini alfredo (he). Long-time readers might note that I generally shun roasted/grilled veggies, but this was truly a superb dish. I do have a soft spot for risotto, and this risotto, as far as risottos go, was excellent. Leftovers were great for lunch the next two days.
The fall risotto, ordered by the other couple, was impressive-- it was gloriously presented in a small cooked pumpkin. A lot of risotto!
The waiter was very scatter-brained and inattentive.
We'll have to go back. I've been craving incredible risotto ever since!Listed in: Boston Risotto
