Review from Chuck W.

Great food and warm friendly service! Loved the falafel and baba ganoush on the appie platter. My lamb shank and my partner's mixed grill kabobs were very tasty. We've been to the middle east and ear alot of arabic food, so we were really happy with the authentic food. We chatted with the owner and he was very friendly. We will definitely return!

Review from Dustin D.

This review is for delivery only, I've never been into the restaurant.
We ordered an appy platter, one chicken and one beef shawarma, a lamb kabsah dish then some baklava and konafah with cheese for dessert. They were out of beef shawarma (really? isn't that one of your top 2 selling dishes?), they were out of baklava (sigh) and they were also out of... wait for it... the konafah too! nice! 6 items ordered, they're out of 3. This is a shaky start to this experience.
We settle on the appy platter, two chicken shawarmas the lamb and no desserts. So be it. The food arrives, we dig into the appy "platter" which is actually a medium sized styrofoam plate with dividers and possibly the smallest collection of things I've ever seen referred to as a platter - 2 small dolmathes, 3 small falafels, some hummus, tzatziki and babaghanoug with pita. Besides being underwhelmingly small, nothing on the plate stood out taste wise, it was all just OK. The chicken shawarmas were decent but I felt they were fairly lacking on actual chicken content. The lamb kabsah dish was by far the star of the evening, nice flavours, good sized portion, but it wasn't enough to make up for all the other shortcomings.
I'll have to give Al-Sultan another chance and dine in there to try some of their less obvious offerings on a day that they're not out of everything however places like this have to realise that they're pretty much banking on their shawarma to drive their business as that's what we're all going to order.
