I really want to like Al-Mahdi. imagine East African cuisine! How cool it is to have such ethnic diversity in Richmond Hill. However, Al-Mahdi really disappointed me, I doubt I would ever go back and give it another try!!
Specials of the Day... Al-Mahdi supposed to have different specials everyday.
Me: Special of the Day please!
A: No, we don't have that.. and we usually don't have everything everyday..
Me: What do you have?
A: You want a burger?
(I don't know if people really go to Indian/East African joint to have burgers?)
Me: Anything else?
A: (annoyed) Butter Chicken...
Me: Anything else?
A: (really annoyed) Butter Chicken....

Butter Chicken ($7.99)
- One of the worst butter chicken I have... dare I say I can make better butter chicken myself... (Yelp Friend STOP laughing, yes I can do it!)
- If using precooked chicken cubes and just heat that up in a store brought sauce.. with no spices and not much taste to it. I think I can do way better than that
The other tables with men were served with a lot more interesting food.. why I ended up with just Butter Chicken??
