All you can eat sushi during weekday lunch hours can get you the best bang for your buck for a lot of delicious sushi! All I have to say is...AK47! (unfortunately it's not on the Lunch Menu, but you can get it after lunch hours)

I'm giving this 2 stars because I went on Family Day, and I will give them the benefit of the doubt that they may have been really really overwhelmed.
The service here was not great - we waited and waited for every step of the meal. Wait for a table, wait for your glasses of water, wait for your order to be taken, wait for the first piece of food. Wait for the second piece of food. Wait wait wait.
Some of our food never did arrive, but before we realized this, we were told to quickly order because it was last call for lunch. We had no idea at this point how to gauge our hunger because we hadn't gotten even half our first order yet. So we guessed and hoped we hadn't ordered too much or too little.
The sushi was ok, but not great. The deep fried things were pretty good across the board. Note that much of the menu is not available during lunch service. (Having a separate lunch menu seems like it might be a nicer way to present that fact, though.)
All in all, a sort of brutal lunch experience in Barrie. -

At first, this place can be confusing. The giant banner outside boasts a lunch and dinner buffet, but when you go inside there is no buffet bar; which leads you to think that you showed up late or something. It's actually an all you can eat, and they give you a menu :) Great veggie selection, with proportionate rolls. My favorite was the Taro Tempura. Perfectly breaded and not greasy at all. The place filled up quickly around me as their dinner service got underway, but our waitress was attentive and polite the whole time. Would definitely be a regular stop for me if I lived in Barrie.

I'm a real fan of Aji Sai too, but Akira is my new destination of choice for the widest selection of the freshest and tastiest sushi in Barrie. They do a la carte, but the real deal is the all-you-can-eat.

More than one would expect from and all you can Sushi reateraunt. $12.99 for mid week lunch was excellent value.

I agree with Julian... Aji Sai is good but this place is amazing! The AK47 is to die for and as mentioned they have a huge selection of funky rolls. Everything (including the sashimi) is fresh and the actual restaurant is nice and warm (most sushi places tend to be cold to me). The one drawback is it's usually packed and sometimes the service is a bit slow on weekends! I definitely recommend it to any sushi diehards.
