This is the sister clinic to the popular Academy Massage. The nice thing about this place and Academy is that they have a lot of therapists available and they are open to 9 pm on weeknights. Convenience is definitely a selling point as you can generally get an appointment same day or within a couple of days.
The clinic here offers some interesting services like paternity tests (using saliva samples), botox and laser therapy for inflammation. I thought the paternity testing and the botox offerings were odd for a massage clinic but I suppose they are broadening their services. LOL.
Anyhow, I came here for a massage. The waiting room is clean and airy. The therapists aren't overly friendly but seem to operate more as a revolving door service so they really aren't there to get to know you but to just massage. The massage room was really relaxing and clean. But the walls are thin here as I can easily hear the next room even with music on so it wasn't super relaxing if your neighbours are loud. My massage therapist was very good and provided a great deep tissue massage. I had no issues on that point. The only thing I do have to note is that both Academy and Advanced Massage clinics prompt a tip option when you pay with debit/credit. I never get that prompt at any other massage clinic. So to me, it makes you feel like you HAVE to tip. Now, to me, I tip at spas when I receive a massage from an RMT because the spa offers up a different experience than a clinic and that tip is shared with the other attendants in the spa. When I am at a massage clinic, I am there for pain management so to me it's similar to a chiropractic or physiotherapy visit. I don't tip there so why should I tip at a massage clinic? Anyhow, I felt like I had to tip here, which in this case was fine as she did a good job but she didn't say thanks and seemed like she expected it. To me, that's just bad because one should never expect a tip.
So to me, unless the pain is super bad and I need a massage immediately, like it was in this situation as my regular massage therapist was not available for several weeks, I don't think I will be returning.

History
Established in 2005
Advanced Massage and Laser was one of the first locations in Winnipeg to offer Laser Therapy. Sometimes you can only take a person so far with there Massage Therapy Treatments. We wanted to offer other options to treat peoples pain, and get them well faster. The laser can go 4 inches deep into the tissue to speed healing, and get you back to your activities quicker. We have been lucky to work with Sports teams, and have medical support from many doctors and medical clinics.. Thank you...
