I used to live in the Queen and John area, so initially it was simply proximity that brought me into this Active, Green and Ross. However, now that I have moved I still find myself driving past a dozen garages closer to my place in order to bring my car here.

The staff are very friendly and honest. A few times I have sort of suggested what I think is wrong (not that I know anything about cars of course), expecting a big job and making peace with the money I am about to spend. However, on multiple occasions I have been told that major repairs are not required, despite the fact I easily could have been taken advantage of.

Also, if you live out of the downtown core and commute to work you can drive your car here for an oil change and pick it up at the end of the day, saving yourself from the usual commuting costs.

Excellent in terms of honesty, politeness good with most of the staff, price very decent (for oil change at lease).

I went in for an oil change and managed to get the "winter maintenance package" which saved me $5, even though as per their website that offer expired at the end of the previous month. All I had to do was ask if they had any sales on oil changes ;-)

Aside from that, I knew that a number of things had to be checked/done to my car at this point based on my car's maintenance minder, so I provided them with the list of items involved which corresponded to the message on my maintenance minder. They quoted me on the price of the oil change and told me that they'd check everything and get back to me to let me know what needs to be done and assured me that they wouldn't do anything without first confirming with me.

So when they had checked everything, they called me and let me know the work that needed to be done. Since the price was a bit high and I had the parts for some of the repairs, I ended up declining any additional work.

When I came back to pay (I had gone home to wait for them to finish working on my car), the man whom I paid for the work ended up saying, "Well if you can do the work yourself, why not do the oil change yourself too?" I did not like that attitude, and this was in fact the only part of my experience with this venue that did not go well, hence losing them the 5th star.

I have been to this venue before and have never had any complaints, and as per the reviews on here, it looks like everyone else is more or less on the same page. I would likely return to this venue, as long as I don't have to deal with the individual who made the comment in question.

I was driving downtown one afternoon when someone pointed out that my tire had a bubble on the side. I called my dealership and they weren't able to deal with it that day as too busy (what a disgrace BTW). So drove to this AG&R location. They did not have my tire in stock but replaced the bad tire with the spare and rotated the tires at the same time - all for no charge. This was the afternoon before Canada Day weekend, so I would have been without a car had they not done this for me. Excellent service.

It's hard to find a decent mechanic in Toronto that doesn't require a trip so deep into The 905 that it may be worth actually moving to Aurora instead of incurring the towing charges out there.  I came across the Active Green + Ross downtown the first time I needed an emergency oil changes.  The next time, my clutch blew up in my 1992 Nissan Sentra.

This is a family run business, owned and operated by Diana and Scott Moody.  They started up the business 20 years ago having known nothing about the automotive industry.  Given that the parking lot is typically choked with cars needing servicing, it's obviously busy and they've obviously sorted out the automotive business.

Both of them run the phones, sort out the invoices, and handle your work that needs to be done efficiently.  Friendly?  You'd be hard pressed to find someone that's friendlier than here.  Either of Diana or Scott will look after you and make sure that your car is not only serviced but serviced properly.

I recently went here to get an inspection to register my out-of-province plates.  The location was extremely convenient and they took care of my car quickly.  5 stars for customer service.  However, I felt the prices were quite high relative to what I have paid elsewhere and they required things for the inspection that I'm not sure were necessary.

i just hope their space doesn't get bought out by a developer.

    good service.

honest and not pushy at all... personally, i think that's a rare find.
