I had dinner last weekend at Acqua with a couple friends. The food was delicious, it was nice being inside Brookfield Place and watching everyone walk by in the distance, the customer service was excellent and the wine was especially good :)
Although the dinner was a bit pricey, I would definitely recommend the restaurant to others.
Much better than my experience at Vagabondo close by here, where the owner is a total PRICK!
I had lunch at Acqua during Summerlicious. Aside from the food, which was fantastic, the service was the best I have had anywhere in recent memory.
My lunch companion had to be back to the office within the hour. While being seated, we asked the maitre d' if he thought that would be possible. He assured us that it would, and that he would make sure our waiter was aware of our timing issues. The waiter was very attentive, brought us one course right after another, and we were out of there in great time.
We ordered the Angus beef carpaccio as an entree. It melted in my mouth. (I wish it had been available as an entree -- I could have eaten much more!)
My main course was seared white fish with mussels and fingerling potatoes. Delicious. The fish was cooked perfectly. This was my first experience with mussels (I'm embarrassed to admit), and these won me over as a mussel fan from the first bite.
My companion ordered the grilled chicken pizza and declared it to be incredible.
Dessert was a maple creme brulee with a shortbread cookie. Definitely, without a doubt, the best creme brulee I have ever had. I have been craving it ever since.
I look forward to my next meal at Acqua. I will most definitely be back.
during yesterdays aft. storm, the place was empty.
10 glasses of wine for less than 10 bucks, great! that is all it should be.
great selection of salty and seedy flatbread, grissini and bread. i asked for oil instead of butter, and there was not problem.
butternut squash soup - golden colored, perfectly textured and tasty.
crispy nuggest of sweetbreads - dried tarragon aioli, good too!
escargot w. pancetta, rich thick beef glaze, buttery crouton to hold it all, pearl onions, great too, very rich and maybe the top price, 13 on the app. list - as many chefs do - taking the least costly ingred. and dressing it up w. max flavor for max price.
too buttery chowder w. cherry tomatoes.
i went home and lounged...watched the snow fall, comfortably numbed...
great service. 100 dollars inclusive.
