I was not in the market for anything major, just some paint for the bathroom. I really use to enjoy painting, but now, I like the quickest way possible to get the job done.
The sales people here are very nice and offer some great advise. They assisted with educating me on the different paints and colours.
He was gracious enough to give me some samples to bring home to test. -

I like popping into stores and imagining that I'm in the market for whatever it is they are offering. Not that I'm definitely not planning on painting something, I mean I could paint something if I wanted to. And maybe I'll know whether or not I want to paint something once I look at different paint types and stuff... yeah...
SO - I popped in this Benjamin Moore dealer today and was greeted by a friendly fellow. I started to meander about and he came over to see what I needed. I told him I was pricing paints (which I was) and he quickly offered up the digits on a variety of paint types.
There were all of your standard paints (latex, etc. ) as well as low-scent, more eco-friendly varietals. In addition to paint, this shop carries everything paint related. From tapes and brushes, to removers and thinners - this is the joint to peruse for all you paint buffs out there.
In total: Good service. Lots of selection, and from what I gather, they seem to know their stuff. This seems like a good place to head if you're serious about quality and longevity when it comes to paint. -

Recently my parents gave me a lot of responsibility...if I was a teenager. Yes, folks, they finally let me choose what color I'd like to paint my room at our cottage.
I'm one step closer to the status of "adult," and I'm only about five years behind schedule!
Regardless of what this says about my state of arrested development, I was very excited about this prospect and started diving into color schemes. I found some colors I wanted and called my folks.
"It's like a bluish-green kind of color, you know...like, um, also I really like this red, but kind of oran-" my father cut me off, "Do you know what colors they actually are?"
I could feel my adult privileges being whisked away, so I let my parents know that I would find out and get back to them. I printed off pictures of the colors and went to Acadia & Quigley's. They are located on Quinpool Road, a short walk from my home. I went in and hoped for the best.
The staff were really helpful and were able to point me in the right direction with only the print outs from my computer. In no time I knew exactly what my color choices were called and had a price for them. It's always a treat when the person working knows what they are talking about and is not simply collecting a pay cheque. At Acadia & Quigley's, this was definitely the case.
So now I have my colors and am very excited to paint my room, I think it's only a matter of time before my parents let me stay up past 10:30!
I kid...there's no way they would let me stay up that late...
