Review from Stephan J.
This is a relatively new hotel with a great location. It is only a few minutes stroll to the Whistler Village and the lifts for skiing. They have great garage parking, the rooms are very clean and modern, and they offer free wi-fi. If you are one that likes the expensive ammenities like room service, the expensive drinks and snacks from a mini bar, and movies on demand keep looking. If you need a nice place to stay and are concerned about close proximity to skiing and all the village has to offer this is your place.

Imagine hearing a digitized voice say "low battery discovery" every 5 minutes for 2+ hours starting at 11PM after a long day of snowboarding. This is exactly what greeted us on the last night of our stay. No apologies from the hotel...instead they stated it was a malfunction in their system....as if we needed to just suck it up...my two star rating is generous and has more to do with their location rather than the actual hotel.
The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything going on in the adjacent rooms and in the hallways (including the outburst of profanity by the neighbors when the smoke detector went off...). The rooms, although nicely decorated with a new contemporary look, are very small. There is free Wi-Fi...but for some reason, it didn't work on any of our laptops, tablets, or iphones......it took an IT specialist in the group to reconfigure his network settings to get the wi-fi working on the laptop...I would definitely say not very accessible even if it is free.
Hopefully, no one else ever encounters this "malfunction" in their system....and it was a random fluke. Based on my experience, the only reason I would recommend this place is because of the short walk ( less than 5 minutes) to the lifts and village. -

Sum up the total experience into one word: Eghh
The rooms look a lot better in their photos. How can I explain how I felt there? It's like a house remodel that was made with the cheapest materials possible with some good looking art on the walls. You know that deep down it's pretty crappy but you don't say much because the exterior looks decent.
The service wasn't great at all. I didn't realize that they charge an extra $30/person fee per night either until I got there. I didn't feel the same experience that I get when I travel to the hotel chains such as any Starwood hotels.
You're better off booking with another chain or one of the higher rated hotels in Whistler (even if it's an extra $20-$30 per night it will be money well spent).
Bonus Tips:
- Outdoor pool unheated
- Jacuzzi stays lukewarm -

I have mixed emotions about this place...
Pros: Beautiful hotel, very pretty and gorgeous rooms. Service was good, not great, but good. Aveda shampoos and conditioners in the rosemary mint scent. Free Wi-Fi.
Cons: Noise coming through the walls and the hallways, strange location. Parking is expensive, but all hotels here are like that. I ordered room service that gave me food poisoning (from White Spot across the street). -

Im surprised the reviews are not great, I love this place! But for me, going to whistler isnt about sitting in my hotel all day long. Its about getting as close to and on top of the mountains as possible and staying on said mountains all day until you are exhausted then quickly stopping at hotel room for shower and change. Then back out for a huge meal and a night out, which probably includes patio drinks and one of the local bars. I usually retire after the patio drinks so since the Aava has clean, nice and comfortable bedded rooms for cheaper than anywhere else in that entire place, I give it 5 stars! Ive been a few times now and the staff are always great(they also have the cutest matching argyle sweater vests on the boys and girls) so i loved that too. The outdoor pool and hot tub are awesome and you aren't right in the craziness of whistler village but still 5 mins to gondola base. Beautiful view depending which side you face. And a golf course next door in case you go in summer! And honestly I dare you to get a better deal for location than Aava. Good for families too!

the location is very good... you walk less than five minutes to the lifts through the really clean Village. the rooms are small and clean but the walls are thin. the lobby & rooms are modern and the staff is extra nice, (like most of the people we met in BC). the safe in room did not work despite 2 separate repairmen trying to fix it (was a downer). staff held my laptop in the back with claim check- no problem. It was just an inconvenience with the cash and passport carrying. Again, did I say that the staff are really nice. the wi-fi often did not work in the room, so the staff said that guests have to come the lobby to use wi-fi. Garage parking is great! Bottom line= close enough and clean enough to the lifts that it is good, but if you are looking to enjoy your hotel after the day is complete (bar, restaurant, nicer room /lobby, amenities, etc), then it is recommended that you take a step up in price point /rating. But, if your focus is the day on the slopes and you solely need a clean place to stay that truly is close enough to lifts and the Village action, this A-OK.

It's a new establishment. Style and decor are simple and contemporary. Very small lobby area and no on-site restaurant/bar (there's a White Spot restaurant right across from the hotel though). The staff were friendly but sometimes when it gets a little busy (we went a little before the winter Olympic starts), it seems to be a little short handed. They provide a skii/snowboard locker for you to store your equipment.
The rooms are nice and very clean. For a small room, it has too many furniture. The couch was very uncomfortable. The sheets were pretty stiff and needed fabric softener. The bathroom was nice (tub was a little narrow but enough for me... nice shower head though) and they use Aveda shampoos, conditioners... etc. They don't have tea bags in the room, they only have coffee and some herbal tea (chamomile and lemon?). The only thing is that you can hear people talking in the hallway/outside of your door loud and clear.
We got a pretty good deal and it's a convenient location... about 5 minutes walking distance to the gondola. Can't complain much. -

We stayed here over the summer. Nice rooms, reasonable prices. We did not have any trouble with noise. Staff was nice and pleasant. Room was nice, clean, comfortable. they had a pool and hot tub too. Good location near the village. Can't get much better in this price range.

A-OK. If you can't get a better deal somewhere else, go for it. If not, it's a pretty average place to go. My friends had a 1 bedroom suite with kitchen for the same price we had our 2 beds no kitchen room, 2 beds? why? The room was crowded with a couch that was pointing no where, and a desk that was a knee hitter and the window gave us a view on the golf court right beside. Thank god it was raining. Did I mentioned A-OK?

beautiful hotel, location is great!, reasonable room service price, we stayed in a standard room, but it was fancy enough all the aveda shampoo, soap, cond.. etc..
