I cannot say enough great things about A Touch of Clover! I have gotten a full body massage, a facial and two brow-shapings here - and each time I am amazed at how wonderful A Touch of Clover is. Laurice gives an amazing and relaxing facial, also, she shapes my odd brows to perfection!
The location is in an old Victorian house, and it is comforting and smells good. Also, they are always running really great monthly specials on their webpage, so make sure to check those out before you go in! -

I'm pretty sure waxing is a form of mid-evil torture! I did the Brazilian before leaving on my honeymoon. I'm not going to lie... the pain was traumatic. Simultaneous profuse sweating and shivering with goose bumps. As well as Simultaneous praying and cursing! I will likely stick to a razor from here on out! I'm not sure how women get this done regularly. I'm guessing they must get some sick twisted addiction to the endorphins released in their brain as they are getting their hair ripped out by the root!
Pain aside, She was extremely professional and made the experience as comfortable as possible considering you are naked from the waist down with your legs spread open. The environment was also very clean. I was a little concerned my derriere would be placed on some nasty dirty sheet! It's plastic for easy sanitation.
She also did a good job since my hair wasn't quite long enough. Apparently 1/4 inch is ideal. I've also since learned that taking IBP before hand can help as well as a product called no scream cream. If I ever get it done again I will try both followed by a Martini! -

I found Rhonda about 3months ago on Yelp. I first tried her for my eyebrow wax and was really happy. I have sensitive skin so I get really red and sometimes even break out in bumps. Rhonda assured me that she used top of the line products and I wouldn't have that issue and she was right! I am red for just a few minutes rather then a few hours and have never had any bumps. I recently did a facial and it she was great, thorough and gave me suggestions on what I should be practicing at home without being pushy with products. I now schedule my waxes in advance and will be indulging in facials periodically as well.

I got the yelp deal for a $60 green with envy facial. I have never gotten a facial before, but my skin was oddly breaking out (I think due to stress) and I was desperate to try anything that might help. Laurice was my esthetician and she was awesome. I told her in the beginning that I had never had a facial before and for the entire hour she kept the conversation flowing and told me every step of the way what she was doing. I'm now in love with other people doing extractions for me! I didn't see results right after the facial, but over the next day or two I saw what a difference it made. I also bought their green tea face wash and toner and the products work great.

At first, I wasn't sure about waxing but I wanted to check out A Touch of Clover, based on great reviews from friends. Rhonda has such a professionally calm and relaxed personality that put me at ease. She asked me questions and got into conversation during the appt, which really helped me feel comfortable.
I recommend A Touch of Clover to anyone that is skeptical about waxing and is looking for someone professional. Just a warning that you might love it and want to revisit many future appts! It makes you feel really sexy! :-) -

I just got a fabulous facial from Rhonda at A Touch of Clover! I am glowing and I feel fabulous!
I am one of those people who has not always had great skin. I have had a lot of facials throughout my life and Rhonda is the only one who has given my skin a real visible difference. I started seeing Rhonda for regular facials before my wedding. I noticed a huge difference in my skin after the first facial, but after a few, I truly noticed that my skin looked and felt better. After my wedding, I could not give them up! And now even my husband has gotten his skin tended to by A Touch of Clover.
Rhonda is truly a skilled professional who knows skin and knows the products she works with. She has always made me feel super comfortable and relaxed during my facials and they are such a treat. I am very grateful to her for everything she has done to make me look and feel beautiful. -

This is the best facial place in San Diego!! Rhonda is so gentle and does a perfect job depending on your skin needs. I got the classic clover facial and it was perfect - everything from the smell of the various creams to the way she massaged my face left my skin feeling perfect. She also gave me a small shoulder and neck massage which was wonderful. I can't wait to go back here for a massage and she how they do!

I started coming to A Touch of Clover last fall and am happy to say I have finally found a place where my waxing and skin needs are very well taken care of.
I called and heard back within a few hours, which is always something I notice. Rhonda is the one who called me and whenever I email her or call her, she is always very prompt in getting back to me.
Anyways, my experience.....
I first went to Rhonda for an eyebrow shape up last year and immediately I was impressed. I have Italian eyebrows, which aren't always the easiest to handle and after actually LISTENING to what I wanted and was looking for, she shaped them and started to fix the last disaster my previous waxer had done. Here I am, 6 months later, and LOVE my eyebrows.
I also get a Brazilian wax every 6 weeks and Rhonda does an amazing job with that as well. She's very efficient, quick, patient when I need it and makes the "area" look tidy just the way i like it. One thing I just love about her is how comfortable she always makes me feel as she's doing her job. She's extremely professional, which is another thing that keeps me going back. She's so fun to talk to and really makes it a good experience, rather than the usual "ughhhhh gotta get waxed today, this is gonna suck!" Never do I think that after going here. I always leave smiling because I feel very taken care of.
Also, whenever I've needed skin advice, she is always quick to offer something for me to try out or suggest. You can tell instantly she is very knowledgeable about her profession, which makes me trust her.
Just give A Touch of Clover a try! -

My girlfriend and I came here for a facial, and Rhonda was able to squeeze us in with her colleague who was super sweet but had cold fingers. Temperature-wise, it's been in the 40's-50's at night so when we came in the morning, it was a bit chilly in the room and I just couldn't get warm on the table. I was longing for a heated blanket and a cup of hot chocolate. I was thankful for that hot moist towel on my chest but that lasted for only 2-3 minutes.
I got the oxygen facial. My skin was shiny afterward like it got a polish and my cheeks were pink from a burning stinging sensation. She gave me a cream to soothe the stinging and did ice swirls which helped immensely.
Overall, I think for me, I don't need something so intense. I felt my face was undergoing a 7 layer cleaning that maybe even waxed floors don't undergo. I think my problem is a lack of education on facials . . .I'm probably somebody who should watch a video prior so I'm not so apprehensive afterward about what just happened. -

Came here for a facial during spa week. Met Rhonda and Angelica and they were both very sweet. Angelica did my facial and it was sooo relaxing I fell asleep! She took her time and was very meticulous.
Afterwards my face glowed and felt really clean.
For $50 it was a steal. Service was great and I felt like I got waay more than my money's worth. -

I love getting my facials here! Rhonda is very attentive to the needs of your face and provides awesome advice in maintaining it in awesome shape. I went with the classic clover as I break out occasionally and have acne scars that need to fade out. She was able to use very small amounts of medicated substances on my face as I am sensitive to them and used more natural products. I love the way my face glows after I'm done! :)
She is very knowledgeable and an amazing person to converse with. She also carries really good cosmetic and facial products that are far better than anything you can find at Sephora! :P
The place itself has character since it's located in an apartment type structure converted into an amazing spa! It's not at some typical office looking type building where a lot of beauty related services tend to be at. Parking can suck but, because of her mad skills, this place is worth going to when getting your facial needs met!
Oh yeah, and I also got my eyebrows done by her as well, and she did a good job transforming my thin, lack of a shape eyebrows into well sculptured brows that framed my face beautifully. -

This place should be called A Touch of Heaven because Rhonda and her magic fingers are a godsend!
I got three facials in preparation for my wedding, the last one being the day before the plunge. Even though I only got 4 hours of restless sleep the night before, I was still a drop-dead gorgeous bride :)
Rhonda is funny, beautiful, and a great conversationalist. She also has an amazing read on people, both through observations made with her eyes and her fingers. She could tell I was a ball of nerves by just massaging my neck and back... and that I did a lot of computer work. She also LISTENS - WOW, who knew people did that still these days!? Even though my appointments were 5 weeks apart, she remembered where I worked and my husband's name every time.
I'll continue going for periodic facials (I really need one at the mo because of the 10 hours I spent in the sun on my wedding day... my face is all tore up) and probably go for my first Brazilian right before I leave for my honeymoon in December ;)
In terms of pricing, I've never gone anywhere else so I'm not sure how her prices compare to others. For the Classic Clover (which is an hourlong facial), it's $75. But just sayin', IT'S YOUR FACE, so unless you want someone to burn you the eff up, I'd say shell the cash for the quality. I have been here twice so far, and had an awesome experience both times! First, the atmosphere is great - it's in a old building and feels very relaxing and quaint inside. I get THE BEST facials here! Also, I started getting my eyebrows shaped and am hooked! I received excellent product recommendation and skin care advice, too. My skin has cleared up since I started going to A Touch of Clover, and I couldn't be happier with the service, price, location and friendliness of the staff.

Fantastic! I am a licensed esthetician myself and new to San Diego. I am picky about my facials!! Rhonda was AWESOME! She was the perfect mix of pampering and effective skin care. She got me unclogged in the pores and de stressed in the body! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. And I love the retail section. I got myself some fantastic skin care. I have walked by this place a billion times, and never really thought it looked like much from the outside. After some Yelpsploration, and with the additional motivator of Spa Week specials, I finally made an appointment for a massage.
It is so cute inside! It's an apartment-turned cute neighborhood spa. The waiting area is the living room, complete with fireplace. The treatment rooms are converted bedrooms. I like all the vintage homey details like the hardwood floors and bathroom tile. It feels very comfortable.
I had a great experience that was very relaxing and was impressed with all the friendly staff. The massage itself was very nice, but I could have used a bit more real body work. But that's how it is with massage therapists, you have to go a few times and get to know each other!
Overall I was very pleased and the Spa Week specials are a steal. Oh, and I was given a very cute little gift bag as a parting gift, which included makeup samples and even chocolate! Nice touch. -

I've been having some *issues* with finding a great wax in town (see previous reviews). I wanted someone in my neighbor, fairly priced, who does a meticulous job. Is that so much to ask??
I went to Rhonda based solely on her Yelp reviews. And they're all true! She is a very kind, gentle, modest lady who remembers what customer service is. She makes sure you are comfortable and I knew that I had her full attention. You get to know someone fast when your pants are off (for a Brazilian) and I can see how she quickly becomes a friend.
Her place is relaxed and removed from the hustle and bustle. It's private, but not sketchy, elegant but inviting, sterile but warm. I almost can't wait to go back!
Some extra info for below-the-belt waxers- she got everything and then some, didn't leave any hard wax behind, meticulous with ingrown hairs. And my hair has grown back slowly but evenly, and I basically can't wait to go back. Woohoo!Listed in: Purdy It Up

Rhonda is awesome! I went to her for the berry facial during Spa Week to hopefully combat any pre-wedding stress complexion issues. She has a perfect touch, and checked with me to make sure I was comfortable during every step of the process. I left feeling completely relaxed and left actually visibly GLOWING. One of the highlights was the firm but invigorating shoulder and neck massage she gave me, which took tension out of my shoulders that I didn't even know was there until she took it away!
As if her wonderful facial wasn't enough, when I mentioned my worries about a totally weird farmer's tan I can't get rid of, she gave me a huge sample of an exfoliating scrub at no additional charge. Rhonda was both a sweetheart and a professional. A Touch of Clover was a great experience from beginning to end, and I'll definitely be back! -

My typical brow maintenance regimen:
1. Do nothing with them for six months.
2. Wake up one day convinced that my negligence is just egging on the apocalypse.
3. Try to save the world with a last minute appointment somewhere.
4. Spend the interim thinking that it was totally stupid to do so, that I've waited this long so what's the point, and reminding myself that it is very uncool to cancel an appointment made on short notice, resigning myself to dropping the 20 or 30 bucks on it.
Of course, I went through all that in March. But now that Rhonda has done my brows once, I'm actually looking forward to having them done again.
Since college, I've only have my brows tweezed and trimmed. Some estheticians just aren't as comfortable with that as with waxing. Not Rhonda. She did a fantastic job. And created a subtle effect. I've been to places where the person doing the work thinks that if the client is paying a certain amount of money she wants a certain amount of brow removed. Not true! I just want them to look good!
Rhonda made mine look great.

Meh.
I feel bad for being the party pooper, but I expected more based on the raving reviews. I tried this spa because my usual skin care person was booked, but I wasn't impressed.
My facial was OK, but I didn't feel the wow that I usually experience. I also left with a very oily face which annoyed me It was still a good time, just not as good as my usual treatments. -

Oh boyy... So I've never got a brazilian wax before and I'm leaving for vegas and decided to try one out. After looking at yelp reviews and with their special june offer of $35, I decided to go with Touch of Clover.
A brazilian is every thing they say it is! Painful. But man oh man am I CLEAN and bare down there :). I had Angelica and she was awesome. I was really shy it being my first wax and she was super friendly and professional. She walked me through the whole thing, made conservation to make me feel comfortable, and took her time to make sure she got EVERYTHING. 5 stars definitely.
Wud I do it again? Maybe not all the time, but special trips/occasions a must! -

Here is my LONG OVER DUE review... I have been going to A Touch of Clover even before it was A Touch of Clover!!! I started seeing Rhonda shortly after she moved and was starting her business in San Diego! I have followed her all over San Diego =)
She really cares about your skin! She is is very meticulous. Her facials and massages are awesome. I tend to doze off! I usually get my bikini waxes by Rhonda too. And one day I started to talk to her about brazilian waxes since they intrigued but frightened me to death! BUT I trust Rhonda and what was I worried about?? It was not as bad as I had envisioned. Rhonda made me feel at ease and explained her process so there are NO surprises!!!
Now I'm in SF and I miss my Rhonda!!! But every time I plan a trip to SD, you better believe one of my first calls is to Rhonda!!! -

Love this place! I came here for spa week treatment, the bamboo massage. They took me at the last moment and I really appreciate that. I was on the verge of a meltdown from stress.
I was greeted by Linda and she had a charming smile and she's very professional. I have to admit, I wasn't at my best, its been a while since a haircut, I just got outta work, no shave, just looked a trainwreck! She was kind and attentive and very sweet.
Linda was very concerned with my neck pain and took heed to what I was complaining about! She had a gentle touch, but dramatic and powerful energy. She worked out some kinks in my neck and did so with force, but ever so gracefully. She really listened to what I had to say.
Love this place and I wouldn't mind going back when I'm a lil' more kempt. Linda, you saved me from my meltdown...!
If you haven't been here, i'd definitely give it the OK to go now! -

I will NEVER go anywhere else to get my eyebrows waxed or facials again. I LOVE the way Rohnda does my eyebrows. It took me sooooooooooo long to find someone I truely love to do my eyebrows/facials. The ambiance is great! I cant stand getting my eyebrows somewhere where they do your nails. If you want a great facial and wax job Rohnda is the person to go to! I love "A Touch of Clover" : ) Oh and I did forget to mention, she does become a GREAT friend too! You def. wont have that awkward feeling and moments of awkard silence when you're there!

I absolutely LOVE Rhonda!! I was originally referred to her by a coworker last year and decided to check her out because I was having some acne issues. After a few acne facials and the Jan Marini products she recommended, my skin did a complete 180!! She was geniunely interested in helping me have great skin yet I never felt like she was pushing products on me. When I did ask about products such as the Jane Iredale make up, she was more than happy to help me and was very patient in helping me find the right color to match my skin. :)
I also go to Rhonda to get my eyebrows waxed regularly. She always does a great job and I will NEVER EVER get my eyebrows waxed anywhere else especially at a nail salon!! She takes her time and always makes sure you like them before you leave. I get facials from her once every couple months and love those as well. They are soooooo relaxing especially when you get them after work!
Rhonda is not only an awesome esthetician but she's a great person! Very easy to talk to and is super sweet. Although she stays pretty booked, she's also very accomodating in squeezing you in for a quick eyebrow wax. I don't know how I'm ever going to leave San Diego because I doubt I'll find anyone better than her! Anyway call and make an appointment, you'll love her! -

WOOHOO is right... this little gem in Bankers Hill is a great find.
Rhonda and her staff are very knowledgeable and take time in pampering you and allowing you to forget about all the errands and etc.. that runs through our minds.

I have been going to Rhonda for facials for a couple of years and she always does an amazing job. She provides a warm, comforting atmosphere, impressive decorum and is attentive to every detail. She is very welcoming and takes a genuine interest in her clients- the most relaxing environment possible.
Her services are tailored to what works with your skin or what it needs and she has a wide range of treatments. Not only have I gone to her, but my boyfriend has loved it when he has gone- he said he was so relaxed he fell asleep! I also sent my sister there as a gift and she is a raving fan. The services at Touch of Clover are moderately priced, not pricey and not cheap (you don't want to skimp n your skin). I have been for facials and waxing and always been sooo happy! -

It takes A LOT to impress me when it comes to spa treatments. That said, I cannot recommend this place enough! I went here for the first time today and absolutely fell in love! Rhonda gave me the most amazing facial. In addition to the love she showered on my face (seriously amazing), she also gave me a glorious neck massage, lubed up my hands and feet up with some of her miracle cream and then a warm wrap, took my wirey old man eyebrows and waxed them into arches of perfection and did all kinds of other magic on me. Her passion for good skincare is obvious in every step of her process. She was meticulous, yet gentle. I felt like a million bucks when I walked out. Rhonda is the creme de la creme of the esthetician world. I will definitely be back. 5 stars all the way! As Yelp's unofficial soccer mom reviewer, I must say that all soccer moms absolutely must come here immediately.

I have been going to see Rhonda for over a year now and I can't tell you how great she is! I was frustrated with my skin. I have had problem skin my whole life. Large pores, breakouts, oily....you name it, blech! So I decided to spend some cash to try to make it better. The best part, Rhonda's prices are totally reasonable and she doesn't push anything on you, although I totally use all her products now.
Rhonda is super friendly and makes you feel right at home. Not only is she my preferred cosmetician, but she is a good friend now too!! -

I recently went in for the Maui facial that was on special in January. What a great experience! Rhonda is so, so very good at what she does. My facial was so relaxing, I almost fell asleep! Afterwards, my skin felt and looked so much healthier immediately. I have been able to see improvement in my skin's texture and clarity in the days that have followed, too.
Rhonda recommended some products for me based on the concerns I vocalized about my skin. She sent me home with some little samples to try, and she was totally right on about these products
helping my skin.
I will definitely return to see Rhonda for more facials and skin-care advice in the future. I would highly recommend her services to anyone who is very particular about their skin - Rhonda's a pro and you will be in great hands - literally!
I also got a massage there back in 2009, as well. I can't remember the name of the massage therapist off-hand, but that was great, too.
Finally, I have to say I love the location. It's quaint and sweet and makes you feel like you've been invited over to a friend's home - very inviting.
All in all a great relaxation experience! -

I swear by Rhonda at Touch of Clover for facials and waxing. I tried using a coupon at another waxing boutique who claimed to be fast & efficient and I will never do that again, I never knew waxing could be so painful!
Thankfully, Rhonda has No Scream Cream for sale and cortisone cream to soothe sore skin. I have been coming here for years and am not going any where else!
