I've been here 4 times.  I bought some rocks, crystals, carvings and some sage to burn in a cleansing ritual.  I am usually offered a free tumble stone to take home with me as a bonus.  The lady behind the counter was friendly and chatty.  She wanted to look at my homemade bracelet.  I let her handle it and when she was done admiring it, she cleansed it with sweetgrass smoke.  I really appreciated that courtesy and told her so.
Sometimes they don't have what I want, but they'll tell me where else to look.
A very chill place. Not cheap, but nice.

Although the selection of cards are convenient, the selection of items vast, and SOME decent prices... over all I'd rather shop at Where Fairies Live, or Ascendant Books al on 124 street.
I work close to Whyte, and frequent SofS often, in fact I bring quite a few friends there and recommend it to others, I always go there and leave feeling terrible.
I have done readings multiple times, and each time, I feel ripped off.
The Staff are nosy, and interrupt your conversations, the owner is rude and is always barking orders at her staff. I once inquired about the part -time position posted, and the owner immediately lied to me and said "oh we've already found someone"  The sign was still in the window the following week.
The last reading, I was told that I was in the session for 17 minutes and therefore I had to pay for the the extra 7 minutes even though I said I wanted 10. It's not up to me to monitor the time. So I was charged an extra 5$.
This exact same thing happened to me when I did a tarot card reading, I chose 15 minutes, and I was in for 22 minutes and was charged extra. I will NEVER return for another reading again OR recommend this place to anyone.
The owner is also a soul leacher, you can feel it as soon as you walk in the door.

Whenever I walk into A Sense of Serenity, I instantly feel a sense of calm. I'm not sure if it's the smell of incense, the general atmosphere, or if it's just in my head, but I like being in this store. I used to really be into new age stuff, but once I started to learn more about psychology, I realized new age was just another way to think about things. I don't think there's anything wrong with new age, but I'm just not into it anymore.

I still like coming to A Sense of Serenity though; this store has some really nice items. They have a huge selection of different gemstones, like pyrite, rose quartz, and hematite. Each gem also has a description about it's meaning and healing powers. I actually collect rocks and gems, and sometimes I will buy a few based solely on their meanings. I'm not sure if I really believe in this, but I still find it fascinating.

Other cool stuff here are the sage bundles, Buddha statuettes, and jewellery. The book selection is also quite impressive. You can find topics on witchcraft, chakra, and "the power of the mind." I had my chakra read once, and it was very accurate! There's also a great selection of angel merchandise. Some of the angels are really beautiful--just kind of expensive.

I found this shop while I was looking for angel cards for my mom, since she's into the whole New Age interpretive stuff. It's never really been my thing, but I have to admit this store is pretty neat, even if I don't know what half the products are used for.

Sense of Serenity carries crystals, jewelry, incense, and many books and cd's on things like self-healing, shamanism, paganism, and Reiki. At first I thought they didn't have the cards because all I saw were almanacs, but then I noticed they had an entire back corner full of books and cd's. They not only had my cards, they had the whole collection! I'm definitely bringing my mom here when she comes to visit!

The staff are very warm and friendly, and they offer services such as psychic readings and massage therapy. I'm a little curious about the psychic readings actually ... maybe I'll check out the costs the next time I go there.

The name says it all. You definitely feel a sense of calmness when you enter the store.

They carry things like Buddha statues and books about the mind and witchcraft. Most of the stuff they carry represents or relates to a type of peace and calmness. They have a lot of self healing stuff which seems to be all the rage these days.

Even if you aren't into the new age stuff you will find this store pretty interesting.

I've been in here a few times but have always preferred Ascendant Books on 124th Street. Though it's nice to see what each store has to offer.

The last time I was in, I found it a very unpleasant experience and not sure if I will return. As I was browsing, the owner was behind the counter ringing in sales and kept barking orders at her assistant, who in my opinion was doing a fine job. The owner also made the mistake of giving my purchase to the client before me and again, yelled at the assistant, who did nothing wrong. The owner should have been more conscious about each client in front of her, which is how the mistake was made.

Both my friend and I purchased something but as soon as we walked out, we both commented on how untrue the experience was and it left me with a bad feeling. Hope the next time I step into the store will be a better experience as this is the intention the store should create.

I stumbled on A Sense of Serenity almost by accident but it was a blessing I did. I was walking around aimlessly one day in the neighborhood and saw the shop. I had never been in before so in I wandered. I immediately felt a sense of calm when I walked into the shop. I am not overly into a lot of the things that they carry, but I did find some of their spiritual books very interesting as well as some of their meditative CD's. There was free Reiki sessions on that particular day and I decided to try one out. I am the biggest skeptic in the world and I was having a bit of a rough day, so you can imagine my amazement when I did feel a difference during the session. I walked out of the store with a smile on my face.
