I purchased 3 $39 vouchers for a Professional Wash, Cut & Style, Colour or 15 Foil Highlights and a Manicure ($127 value) online. The woman doing my hair asked twice if I wanted all over colour, I said yes, but she just did roots. ?? Her manicure skills were seriously lacking. She didn't remove all of my old polish & even left some smudged on my fingers. I had to ask her to remove it, & she couldn't manage it, so I had to do it myself. She wasn't going to cut the cuticles, I asked her to, &, get this, she asked how many? (!?! um, all of them!?!) She attempted it, but nope, they were still there. Then she said polish isn't part of it (the deal). Bullshit. Um, what basic manicure doesn't include polish??! Manicurists say they always include colour. She said polish is extra. I said I need polish and so she put on a clear top coat. I even cancelled an appointment I had elsewhere for a manicure bc the manager suggested I get it done at the same time as my hair. I had to re-do this manicure and do it properly when I went home. Very disappointing.
(While she's doing my nails, she asked me if use anything for my blemishes. I told her yes, & named many of the products I've used. She said, no, you don't have acne... Um, huh??? Yes, I do. That's what blemishes are.)
Then she proceeds to blow dry my hair, which wasn't part of it, I don't blow dry my hair, bc it gets frizzy - which it did, of course, sigh. & that was it from her pov, she was going to send me on my frizzy haired way. I said um, you're cutting my hair, right? She says "oh, you want a cut?" Um, yeah, it's part of this. (!!) So she quickly cuts it, & you can tell, not a good job. Then nothing, she's not even going to style it (which was incl.), so I ask for at least some shine spray, so I'm not leaving the salon looking like a messed up poodle in the wind. I have to scrunch it in myself & try & fix my own jacked up head. No success.
Never good when you leave a salon looking worse than when you go in.
To top it off, the managers' child threw a tantrum. She's forced to be in the salon w her (manager) mom every day, all day, while she's visiting on her vacation with no toys, books, tv or anything to do, so she's clinging off her mom who's w clients, whining & carrying on (I learn later from the woman working on me). So they fight, shout at each other in Hindi & the kid throws stuff on the floor. Then she cries FOR 30 MINUTES NON STOP. Not a low whimper either, a FULL ON fit. Her mom would yell to her every now & then, but the kid was in it for the long haul. She was sitting at the front desk chair & threw books across the floor. This was at the beginning while my colour is setting, & I'm seated near her realizing friggin frig, this isn't going to be a relaxing experience at all. Not only was this uncomfortable & stressing for all the clients to sit through, but it's so incredibly unprofessional. I thought going to a manicure room would be a welcome relief... hah! The mgr. did come & apologize to me for her crying, & I asked her to please at least turn up the (very low) music (to attempt to drown her out), but I think she thought I was kidding. Um, no!
As I'm leaving another stylist looks at my obviously lack of styled hair & says you're not blow drying it? I said she DID blow dry it. Sigh.
I just wanted a little beautifying for a big annual Valentine's dinner/dance, which I certainly didn't get.
This salon is advertised as "Modern & Comfortable Atmosphere", "Luxurious Hair Cut and Style", "Experienced & Youthful Staff" - no, no and no. "Unique Spa & Salon Experience" - well, that it certainly was.
Luckily I got a FULL REFUND from the internet company I purchased the 3 vouchers from.
