Review from Coy W.
I figure due to the great weather this is the appropriate place to review next. 73 north is a restaurant but in the summertime it turns into a patio hookah bar on Sparks St. You'll see the middle of Spark St lined up with many patios but this one is probably my favourite. You can order a hookah and some drinks for you and your friends and chill here all night.
They have a decent selection of shisha and the drinks are average priced. The atmosphere is fun though as they have music playing and in the middle of the week they have a DJ that plays.
I've tried the food and it's not that great but what you'd expect.
Come for the nightlife! It's also an awesome spot to come during Ribfest!!! -

Service was friendly but server was AWOL most of the time, even though it was a very quiet lunch with restaurant a quarter full.
No desserts at all on the menu ("They go bad in the fridge," says server. Mmm, that's appealing.)
Lebanese platter was middling. Kafta lacked any discernible spice. Tabouleh and hummus were good. Pita bread was microwaved and delivered in a baggy. A baggy?
Friend's pizza looked pretty good but no compelling reason to return -

An incredibly busy Sparks street location, 73 North appears to be a polarizing restaurant for its customers; some will be turned off by slow service, while others will love the food, and atmosphere.
If you want to find a place with sheesha (hooka) available in Ottawa, this might be the best place. Especially later in the evening once the busy dinner crowd has died down, this is a fun place to hang out late at night.
It gives off a jazzy modern feel, and the patio is great to enjoy during the summer months. We came here during the Canada Day celebrations in July, and the place was rocking. Live music is on hand at times.
The food is a mix of Lebonese/Middle Eastern and Western contemporary. The Shawarma sandwiches are definitely worth trying out. I haven't been here for breakfast, but the menu and others suggest it is also worth checking out, if for the waffles alone.
The service can be inconsistent and slow at times, but nothing extraordinarily unacceptable, based on my experiences. -

This restaurant has a great location, menu, service and atmosphere! On a warm August night, dinning right on Sparks St (literally) was awesome! They have a sizeable menu of mainly comfort food. Our waitress was very nice/helpful and the service was not slow at all even though it was a very busy Friday night.
73 North also offers hookah in about 5-7 flavours and is reasonably priced at $15. -

Breakfast special is 2 eggs, bacon/ham/sausage one of them, with homefries and toast for $4.99 before 11am. The eggs were the best thing but hey who screws up eggs (note they are small eggs) The ham is a couple of thin (i mean really thin maybe 1 mm) slices fried for about say 1 second in a pan thrown on the plate. Homefries are deep fried tatter tots. Rye bread toasted or untoasted as it was, kinda like warm bread with synthetic butter. one slice of orange. husband had sausage it's just sausage not great but not bad. The waitress calls you "babe" "honey" , "sweety" or darling..take your pick. 2 breakie with an apple juice $15 + tip. Not worth a visit try somewhere else.
