You couldn't ask for a better dentist. I started coming here in October as my teeth were in need of a lot of attention. I wanted a nice dentist that would be honest without being a jerk, and that would give me the best care but only recommend treatments that were necessary. Basically, I wanted top-notch treatment, but I didn't want to get shafted. My old dentist thought I was on a really, really tight budget because I was a student when I started seeing him. Sadly, after a couple of years, I got the feeling he often didn't recommend the best course of treatment, only what he thought I could afford. I'm not totally blameless in this (as I said, my teeth are rubbish), but I like it when people just level with me.
Dr. Hao's staff are lovely (I actually sent a really pathetic and sad email in before I made any appointment and they gently coaxed me into booking myself in). They were also really, really nice when I cried on my first visit (I know, I know).
Having been seven times since October, I think I've met each and every one of the staff at this point. They send reminders via email (the week before and the day before) and are always smiling and in a great mood. Not only that, but they're extremely helpful. If they can do something to make your life easier, they will.
Dr. Hao himself is lovely. He's very down to earth and not at all intimidating. He chats away while he's working and he's always asking if you're okay (which he then apologises for, because he's worried he's annoying you!).
I have a lot of work left to do but these guys have already transformed my smile and made me so much happier. Total gem of a dentist! -

I agree with all of the previous reviews - he's the best dentist I've ever had! The administrative staff is friendly and send appointment reminders via email. The hygienists are all professional, always tell you what they're doing, and take great care to stay gentle. But the biggest Kudos go to the man himself; Dr. Hao is amazingly thorough! He takes time to explain everything and will show you the xrays, etc. that he's monitoring. He's quite honest about your dental health as well, even if the news is less than ideal. And he's quick to send referrals if surgery is needed. It makes me want to floss every day.
The only downfall is that it can be hard to get an appointment as he's so popular!
Bonus points for the ceiling-mounted TVs. I often time my appointments to Chef at Home. -

I've been coming here for about a year now after Yelp's excellent recommendation. My previous dentist was unclear and his staff were pretty sketchy, scheduling appointments for me without my knowledge.
The staff at at 720 King West are amazing. Everyone from the secretaries to the hygienists are professional and friendly. Dr. Hao has cool equipment and he shows you the state of your teeth individually through pictures on his monitor. Probably not something everyone would want to see, but I'm into it.
Also, watching "Say Yes to the Dress" while having your teeth cleaned is seriously underrated.Listed in: My 30-Day Yelp-athon: Nov, Services

I found Dr. Hao and his practice through this website and I can also confirm that these reviews are all accurate.
I went to him after about 3 years of not seeing a dentist (terrible experiences with my last one) and ended up having quite a number of cavities (surprise). I've been to this office many times and can confidently recommend 720 dental to anyone who's tired of hating the dentist chair.
During your initial consultation, Dr. Hao will take a detailed look at your mouth and give you a very honest assessment. In my case, he helped me schedule the best treatment routine (always prioritizing areas that were bothering me) and even explained my dental coverage plan to me. Oh, he also uses a wicked HD camera to take pictures of your teeth in addition to the usual X-Ray business. You get before and after photos!
As someone who's received (many) fillings at his hands, I can safely say he is the best. I never felt any discomfort, ever. I'm not exaggerating. It's clear that he prides himself on his work and takes great care in doing it. His friendly banter is comforting and he will frequently check to see if you need anything at all. He will even send you follow-up emails after your appointment just to make sure everything is fine! As I mentioned earlier, he will take before and after photos of his work so you can see how much better your tooth looks (it always looks better).
The dental hygienists in the office are all extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They will give you great advice on keeping your teeth legit and seem to genuinely enjoy coming to work everyday. A serious step up from getting a guilt trip on flossing from some lady who smells like cigarettes and wants to tell you about her divorce no matter what.
The office itself is well situated (King and Bathurst) and is very modern, clean and inviting. There are TVs in every room and all of the dental equipment is new and well maintained. The administrative staff are very helpful and will even send you reminders about upcoming appointments so you never forget. Dr. Hao told me once (again, lots of time spent in that chair) that he never cheaped out on any sort of equipment. Nice to hear.
Overall, I can't recommend this office enough. If you want a dentist that knows his stuff and places a very high value on patient satisfaction and comfort, this is the right place. I look forward to my visits. -

Thanks to Yelp I have found this dentist. I've now been there a couple times and I can confirm the hype.
The part that impressed me was the initial consultation where Dr. Hao spent quite a bit of time going through several pictures of my teeth, explaining everything. The office is technologically advanced. -

There's really nothing that I can say about Dr. Hao and his clinic that hasn't already been said. He is always helpful and professional, and his staff are the same. All the technology in his office is very cool, and they do their best to make you comfortable. As has been mentioned, there is a TV in every room so that you can distract yourself a little while they work on you.

So I've been to 720 King West Dental twice now and I just love it. Nerdy I know, but I've gotten back to actually getting excited to go to the dentist. I used to dread it. I read reviews on Dr. Hao's office online and decided that even if it took a bit to get in my first time it would be worth. I was completely right.
The place is completely immaculate, TVs in each room (you get the remote), everyone is friendly and they move you through efficiently but you don't feel rushed. I've two differnent hygenists and both were very careful and really sweet. I feel like I'm in such good hands with Dr. Hao, he's very busy but takes the time to explain everything. They are high-tec as well, everything is done through computers from what I saw.
Staff at the front desk is great too, very friendly and organized. They even have 6pm appointments if you can schedule in advance.
Overall, great dental office! -

I moved away to Orlando, FL for 3 years and neglected my teeth. When I returned to Canada my teeth were a mess; my tooth had cracked in half and I had multiple cavities (I think I ended up having around 8 or 9 cavities to be exact). 720 Dental was recommended to me and it was the best experience.
Growing up I had a dentist who made me believe pain & suffering went hand in hand with dentistry. 720 Dental totally changed my beliefs on dentistry. The office is loaded with cool gadgets; from the mini camera that's used to show progress with your teeth to the thoughtful TVs placed in the office for patients. When I had my teeth fixed it was a painless procedure. Dr. Jermaine Hao is someone who loves his job and it shows in his work. He's funny, personable and actually cares for his patients.

I've been going to 720 King West for all my toothy needs for a few years now and I like the semi-annual dance we do. Every four months I go in for a cleaning with Robynn (no one else) and we chat like old friends, watch MuchMoreMusic videoflow on the sweet overhead TV and talk about how good I'm getting at flossing (OK, maybe that last bit isn't true). But really - Robynn is a great hygienist and she is SUPER over-the-top sweet and quirky.
Dr. Hao is highly personable and friendly and unlike some dentists, you actually get to SEE him at the end of your visit. He remembers things about you from your previous visit and asks questions. He always has a smile on his face and he's just an all around cool guy. He won't yell at you if you don't take good care of your teeth but he'll gently remind you why you should and what could happen if you don't.
720 King West has the type of technology that is decades ahead of most dental offices. They take photos of your teeth at regular intervals in addition to x-rays and have highly sophisticated equipment to document your procedures. You can see before and after photos of your fillings, crowns, etc. and also monitor the condition of your teeth. Nothing about a visit at this dentist is scary or daunting.
The office is also really familiar with insurance plans and they'll do their best to maximize your plan so that you never have to pay. It's always a pleasure to get the reminder email from reception about my upcoming appointment! And you can do pretty much anything by email - ask Dr. Hao a question, change your appointment time, etc.
Also, they have reasonable office hours - every weekday except Tuesday they're open till 7pm. So you don't necessarily have to take a whole day off just to get your teeth cleaned. They're flexible.
They stand by their claim of being your "friendly neighbourhood dentist"!Listed in: Cheers - To Your Health!

I was one of Dr. Jermaine Hao's first patients. Here's what I like about him.
1) He puts up with my whining about how much I don't like being there
2) I get to book my appointments around tv shows I like to watch.
3)He's on Facebook and comments on my pictures
4) The staff are friendly and Dr. Hao is awesome.
5) They have all kinds of crazy technology that sometimes has you saying "wow" and sometimes has me saying "ew". But it makes you do the flossing :)
6) I've had some amazing referrals and advice from Dr. Hao and he's at the top of my referral list. I'm always telling people to visit him, and now i'm telling you.
7) I hate the dentist, and I love this one. -

Take it from a previous denta-phobe: 720 King West Dental is _THE_BEST_ bar none.
Dr Hao is very concerned about taking things as slowly as required to keep you comfortable. The hygienists are caring and concerned with your comfort as well. They've completely cured my fears. I don't know that I'll *ever* look forward to going to the dentist, but I no longer dread it. -

I went into 720 King West Dental after I found one of my teeth was loose. It turned out that it was due to a lip ring, but I did have some other issues with my teeth that needed to be addressed. I found out about them from Yelp, and figured they were pretty highly regarded, so they were a good choice.
During the session with Dr. Hao he took individual pictures of areas of my mouth so that I could see what he was referring to when he talked about specific issues, and went over every detail. He was efficient (I had to get to work ASAP) but didn't leave out anything.
The cleaning itself was semi-painful, but that's my own fault for waiting 2 years to visit a dentist. When I left, my gums were a bit sore, but my teeth were sparkling, and felt great.
I really enjoyed the experience at 720 Dental, which speaks volumes since I loathe gong to the dentist (hence the 2 years off part). Great dentist, really great experience, and I've got another cleaning booked in a few months. Nice job, and thanks Yelp for pointing me in the direction of a great dentist! -

Great place, puts you at ease right away. Super friendly and supportive staff that lets you channel surf while waiting for Dr Hao. He uses some interesting technology including taking pictures of my teeth so I fully understood what he was planning on doing. Very helpful with insurance questions and flexable with sheduling.

I've lived in Toronto for almost a year now and it took me just about this long to find a dentist. I took a big leap of faith and followed other Yelp reviews and i'm soooooo glad they were right. Food is one thing, but finding someone to look after your teeth is another. The office is pleasant, very clean and the staff extremely professional. Yelpers were certainly right about Dr. Hao, he takes great length to do a thorough examination of your teeth and uses the latest technology to help. He's got a sense of humor which always makes a visit to the dentist great. He's good so he's also fairly busy, book your appointments ahead of time, I had to wait 2 months for my first appointment.

Is it wrong to love a dentist? I went to 720 King West to have a dentist closer to where I live and because of the great Yelp reviews. I'm glad I went here!
I was a bit wary with the 1 hour consultation I was forced to do in order to get a cleaning and thought it was a b.s. way to get extra money BUT it was actually very helpful and informative (and did not take 1 hour or even 30 mins!). They take photos of the teeth which assist the x-rays and they go over the photos with you so you can really see what's going on. It's also evidence if they really have to do a procedure. What I liked is that no one tries to push anything on you. My last dentist would try to get me to do teeth whitening (which Dr. Hao thought my teeth looked fine) and would always try to get me to switch out my silver fillings for white ones for cosmetic purposes. Dr. Hao works on a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" philosophy that I completely agree with. Why spend more money if there's nothing wrong in the first place? He's very thorough and will scrape up bits off your teeth if necessary. Like the cement from my braces that I had removed 14 years ago! Why didn't my previous dentists notice that?
The waiting room is pretty plain, just some magazines, but all rooms have a t.v. which at first I thought was frivolous, but man is it SO nice to have a distraction while they're doing their work. It takes your mind off of the "Are we done yet?" soundtrack that gets played in your head. They've got a ton of channels so if you want to watch HGTV or the Food Network you're in luck.
Staff is friendly and nice and can give you a reminder call or e-mail the day before which is always appreciated. Everyone really tries to make you feel comfortable which is great and Dr. Hao is a nice and funny guy!
