I have drunkenly been in this place a million times, at night it doubles as the coat check area for The Social. Today I finally got a chance to go to 69 Vintage.. in the day time... sober!
There were so many gorgeous dresses, sassy under garments and cute accessories. The sales associate was super friendly, helpful and told us about their new blog : http://69vintage.blogs.... She told us that they will be offering deals and discounts via the site. -

69 Vintage is so fun to look around. It's spacious and well-organized with lots of charm. They have both womens and menswear, although skewed to the former. The accessories selection is amazing. There is an entire wall at the back of cowboy boots, Frye boots, etc. They also had a bunch of old Dooney & Bourke leather purses that were beautiful. My SC (shopping companion) scored a cherry red 60's style trench coat in excellent condition for $60. They had lots of fun dresses too, although on my last visit, most items were in the size 8-12 range. I couldn't find much in the smaller sizes. The owner is really helpful and cheerful.

I get all my party dresses at 69 Vintage.
Each year, during the MuchMusic Video Awards, Junos and Toronto Film Festival, my company throws tons of parties and I need a different dress for each one.
My biggest fear is showing up wearing the same dress, as gasp, someone else. Even worse would be if that someone else was younger, thiner and more beautiful than me!
So I go vintage. And that's not to say second hand. 69 vintage is filled with party dresses, casual wear, rare shirts, shoes and purses in great condition from days past. They also carry small runs of exclusive and often one-of-a-kind, local designer clothing, jewelery, and accessories.
The best part though is owner Kealan and her savvy staff who are very friendly. Because I have been going there for so long, they know my style to a tee, and often help me pick the perfect outfit that looks great, feels comfortable and is a total show stopper.
They also have rental options for a one time or special occasion (like a wedding where you have to wear a certain style or colour you'll NEVER wear again) clothing that you just need for a night.
The store hours are flexible and they often have midnight madness sales alongside The Social, the hipster bar and club next door that they share the building with. -

I love this store, I can always find something to buy here and browsing is lots of fun. Prices can vary, I have done really well finding an inexpensive long 70s leather jacket as well as a nice gold and white enamel necklace. I also tried to squeeze into some 80s Bass Weejun with no success, they were the exact pair I had in '85 and I was crazy about them, why didn't I hold on to them! This spot is often opened late night so you might find yourself shopping while a little tipsy which is always lots of fun!
