Ok, i'm glad i'm not the only one, 50 Hats. I was really starting to believe that someone was peering down the street and closing up shop whenever I turned up to come check this spot out.

I'm truly amazed that in this economy, with store fronts being papered up left, right and across the street (bye bye Italian Gourmet), this little second hand shop hasn't decided to stay open on a more regular basis. Some might even go so far as to suggest a schedule?

I'll check this place out eventually but i'm becoming increasingly convinced that this place is either a) a front for money laundering or b) only open from 2-5am mondays.

This shop is stuffed to the seams with used goods. Mainly specializing in hats of every variety, you can also find coats and clothing of all sorts, shoes and jewelry, and a mish mash of other random stuff.

I was in today and bought a pair of boots and a bracelet. The owner seems hesitant at first, as if she isn't comfortable with having people look around, but if you demonstrate an interest in dropping a little coin, she'll warm up. I found one boot and after about 10 minutes of searching we finally found its mate.

It's hard to maneuver around the piles and piles, but with a little patience and a desire to dig, you may just find something neat.

After going by here a few times, I finally found it opened. It is all Ayla and Lacey have said. Full to the Brim and the owner is a little out there.
But all this creates a great opportunity for us. There is very different things here, but don't venture out thinking you will find it opened, just remember we warned you.
It is a hit and miss here, but you can find some great treasures.

Although I am fond of the place, I hesitate to recommend it for a few reasons. First, it is almost never open. I live nearby so can drop by to check often, but it's so rare to find the shopkeeper in. Second, the owner is a somewhat crazy and can be a handful. Third, I want to keep it to myself. It's full of weird stuff. And when I say full, I mean that you don't really go inside because it's SO FULL OF STUFF that you cannot walk around. You mainly look at the selection of items the shopkeeper has laid out on the sidewalk on a particular day.

Bring patience and a desire to haggle. If you're up for it, and you miraculously find it open, you may just find some treasures.

Also, pretty sure she's cash only, so be prepared.
