Huzzah! Me, a carnivore, loving a vegetarian place. Mind blown.

I have had many dishes here now and these are my recommendations:

Hot & Sour noodle soup : Lots of tofu and black fungus, broth was rich and noodles were great.

Wintermelon Hot Pot : I love me some wintermelon....in the winter. Great for your "chi", it's full of healthy mushrooms and other veggies.

Taiwanese Kimchi fried noodles: A large portion of some very tasty noodles, done in an authentic Taiwanese style (very much like street market fare in TW).

Deep fried radish cakes: like the ones they serve @ dimsum, but much less oil and no chinese sausage.

    PS. Parking lot sucks.

I give it two thumbs  up!

Was in the hood with some friends and asked Yelp to hook me up with a vegetarian place we could eat tonight. After a quick discussion, we decided to drop by 4 Stones.

I had no clue what the dishes would be like and the staff who served us did not seem to be too fluent in English, so I was glad I let my friend handle the ordering. We settled on the "For Three" combo D. None of us for vegans but I'm picky when it comes to eggs being in dishes so that seemed like the best option for us. The combo was $40ish and there was definitely enough food for the four of us, but we did order some extra rice bowls. I'll go ahead and give y'all a dish-by-dish breakdown.

Spring Rolls: Pretty average, served with some peanut sauce thing. Yummy of course but nothing special.

Eggplant & Basil thing: This was okay. Really slimy but I guess that's what you should expect. Tasted kinda strange (but not in a bad way) but then again I don't eat Asian food too often.

Braised Tofu: This was pretty great, the tofu was well cooked with a crispy outside and a soft inside. Not oily at all. I liked the mushrooms too. A-ok.

Vegetables with Walnuts: I liked these. Not oily at all, crisp tasting and pretty yummy when eaten with white rice.

Spicy Konnyaku on Fire Pot: I don't even know what Konnyaku is but there were these weird things that looked like worms or something floating around. They were kinda tasteless but the sauce was neat. Not really a fan - regretting not getting the Kimchi hot pot.

The service was also decent, food came pretty quickly. They ran out of white rice though so we had to get one bowl of brown rice instead . Definitely will come back some time to try the rest of their menu.

How have I not written about this place before?  I love their Ma Po tofu Vegetarian style and their gobo root and all their appetizer dishes.  And they have brown rice!  Yes! a place where you can order healthy rice and not feel guilty.

On my last adventure here, it was with fellow yelper elite Stephen Y and his wife, and my regular Yelper brother Jason L.

Jason doesn't eat much veggies.  He prefers to have meat in his hot pot.  But the hot pots here are meatless and just as tasty.  I'm really hoping Jay will try them one day.

Today we had quite a number of dishes, none of them greasy.

Why was this a 5 star rating?

Winter melon soup. - good for diabetics
Kimpira Burdock - good for fibre and diabetics.
Grilled mushrooms - good for diabetics
Kimchee noodles - great flavour, not so good for glycemic index, but tasty.
Bitter melon - acquired taste, but healthy and good for diabetics.
Deep fried white radish - not greasy and tasty but not so good for diabetics.

This place is very Taiwanese and like Vivian Hsu and Hsu Chi, I love this place!

Parking is a bit hard to come by, but if you're patient and willing to wait for the few spots available, this is worth the try.

For me, best Vegetarian place in Richmond.  Hands down!  Or I mean thumbs up!

I am not a vegetarian, but I cannot recommend this place enough. I went there at least 5 times during my 20 days stay. Everything they serve is plenty, delicious and healthy. Try the "chicken" kung pao and I dare you to tell me that you'd not rather eat that tasty veggie meat than actual chicken from now on.

    YUMMY!

This is the first veggie restaurant that I have visited since my recent turn as a vegetarian. I was skeptical as I browsed over the menu.....veggie cutlets, fake chicken, fake pork.......but I decided to dive in head first anyways and go straight for 3 items; the bbq "pork" buns, the black pepper "beef" cutlet on rice and the kung pao "chicken".

The buns arrived and were served slightly different then what I was accustomed to, but very tasty none the less. Overall, I was very pleased with the taste and texture of this dish.....very close to the real thing.

The "beef" was alright, tasty but nothing to really rave about.

The (5) star of the evening however was the Kung Pao. Cooked to perfection with a taste and texture identical to the real thing, this Kung Pao is easily the tastiest dish I have ever had...vegetarian or otherwise. It was so good in fact I went back a second time....all the way to Richmond from Deep Cove, JUST FOR KUNG PAO take out! Word of advice however, unless your really into the spicy thing and love the feeling of burning lips hours after you eat, stick to the Med or just Hot version of this dish and avoid the VERY HOT version all together.

Service is "blah" and the prices are a little on the higher end of moderate for what you get size wise (dine in or take out dishes are padded with two veggie appys that I couldn't figure out what it was made of, and one of which I was NOT a fan of) but it is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

All I can say is, "WOW! KUNG PAO!" I'm definitely going back for this tasty meatless wonder :D

We also tried the black peppered 'beef' and the BBQ 'pork' buns, both of which were edible, but nothing to write home about.

The service is a little lacklustre. Nothing offensive, just a bit lax. Would have come in at a solid 3, but the Kung Pao is just that darn good!

Yummy yum yum...this place was really good.  Will definitely come here again :)

Food portions were somewhat small but packed with a punch of deliciousness!

Staff was neither friendly nor rude...just really there and neutral.  But food more than made up for it :)

See u again soon four stones...looking forward to our next meeting.

I just visited this vegetarian restaurant today with a friend. It was a good location, just across the street from the Bay at Richmond Centre. There were reserved parking spots for the customers right in front of the restaurant. We were early, so we didn't have a problem finding parking.

We ordered the Grilled Eggplant, Taiwanese Fried Rice Vermicelli w/ Veggies and Teriyaki Noodles on Hot Plate. We were impressed with the portion of the dishes. My friend quite liked the teriyaki noodles. I enjoyed my "rice noodles" as well. However, I have to agree that the teriyaki noodles did taste quite good. The eggplant dish was nicely presented and delicious.

Nice service. The washrooms were clean.

I think it was a good deal and worth visiting again.

This place is a pretty solid 3.5 stars.  I enjoyed this vegetarian fare - but I didn't LOVE it.  It actually made me miss Bo Kong more.

But the sweet and sour 'chicken' was tasty, as was the black bean rice roll dish.  The rest was just 'meh' to me, though several people I dined with really enjoyed the whole experience.

That really is about all I have to say about it!

This is a fantastic alternative to any food. For Starters,  the Vegetarian Beef Brisket Hot Pot was amazing. Very spicy and delicious broth and the 'Beef Brisket' was....wow...... The Kimchi 'Fish' Hot Pot was pretty tasty, im not going to lie. We also had the 'satay beef' and gai lan. Delicious and perfect flavor. Last but not least, how about the Kung Pao 'Chicken'......WOW!!!!!!! How fantastic is that! This dish may very well become my new favorite out of any restaurant. I actually am thinking about when I can get my hands on more of this. We have never come here before (only went to Bo Gong....that place was terrible) and will be back very soon.

i had given this place 4 Stars before based on the restaurant it used to be- simply vegetarian on ackroyd
so after the new location and new name, what has changed?
well it has more seats now, more open space
guess they had to increase the staff too and it looks busy as well.
The food - has become more pricey than its old avatar.
and it felt like the portions have shrunk.
the food was still good but i feel it has lost its WOW factor.
The service we got this time was rushed and impolite. I dont know why but didnt feel like the same GREAT simply veggie as it used to be.
I will go back in hope that this was an isolated case.
However the Food is still awesome.
