I was in again today, this time for a sit down lunch with my Teambuy coupon and it was packed. While we waited for our food we had a dish of herbed olive oil with shaved cucumber and pita, yum. Then we shared the quartet of dips, all fresh with warm pita and veggies. For mains we both had the classic falafel pitas all toasty warm with a side of tzatziki, we could only eat half cause we had to save room for dessert!

Did you know they collaborate with the Little Red Kitsch'n for the homemade desserts? Desserts range from $3.75-$4.75 so I don't know what excuse those restaurants have that used boxed desserts. We had a snickers brownie and the mint oreo cheesecake, both delish. Although I prefer a baked cheesecake and it was a no-bake recipe it had great flavor and texture. The service was warm and friendly...nice.

We have been back each week since first visiting and have had a pretty good experience overall.

We just ate there for our anniversary.  I got the grilled veggie sandwich and my husband got the rappie pie.  We branched out a bit this time on our meals.  The grilled veggie sandwich was very annoying to eat and became very frustrating.  Everything just kept falling off.  My husband's pie came and neither of us could even try the dish.  It looks like pure lard.  Easily the nastiest dish we have ever seen.  The pie was not touched.  My husband even asked many questions about this before ordering it and came away thinking it was like a meat pie.  It is so bad that there should be a warning about how this dish looks.

Our meal came to almost $40 and no offer to take the pie off our bill.  Needless to say, this was one of our worst restaurant experiences ever and we will never be back.  It completely ruined out anniversary and we will not allow this place to ruin anymore evenings in the future.

I was finally able to have my first experience at 308 South this past week.

I was pretty excited considering I am a big fan of Tarek's albeit I am still gripey about their NO DEBIT machine policy....its 2012 folks get with it...;)

Their menu is very diverse. The owner is the SON of Tarek, he is married to a lovely Acadian woman so the menu is half middle eastern and about half Acadian on average.

So lots to choose from. I settled for my fav from Tarek's which is the Half and Half simply bc I wanted to experience the difference.

For appetizer I ordered the Four-Five Dip platter which looked amazing.

The Server was extremely nice and helpful in deciding food choices. The decor is interesting and the place is bright and happy. My only advice is turn down the lights a bit, it adds more ambience than full blow halogen brightness.

I am middle eastern too so obviously I am a bit harsher critic than most when it comes to middle eastern dining.

The app plate of four dips was great. We were served hummus, tzatziki, Red Pepper, and baba ghanouj. All were fantastic...!

However the portions were really small, I am assuming this plate was intended to be shared by at least 2 people for $9 app I think the helpings need to be a lot bigger.

Finally my main meal came, not surprizing the beef shawarma of the half half was fantastic, the only disappointment was the chicken, it seemed a bit rubbery without texture. The rice altho was good it wasnt as good as Tarek's. Which I thought was weird bc they are essentially the same company.

The Tabouli salad of the main dish was utterly disappointing. It lacked tomatoes, oil and was very dry and tasteless.

Overall an ok first time. I was slightly disappointed bc I know the potential of this place is greater than my first experience has given.

I would say with time they can surely iron out the small wrinkles. But I hope they read these comments and use the criticism in a constructive way to make the experience legendary.

I had the Half & Half Schwarma plate and it was awesome! We ate in, place is small and only one waitress appeared to be working. Not too bad of a wait though, food was amazing!

We had dinner at this new Acadian and Middle-Eastern restaurant tonight.  We only had the chance to try a few things, all were tasty, and we really appreciated that you can now get Tarek's food for dinner.  It's the same delicious stuff here!

The menu is a little disordered, it's easy to miss the Acadian food which is on the very back page--it would be easier to order if the menu were more integrated into appetizers and mains.  There was a good number of vegetarian items, although one of them was the dreaded roasted veggie sandwich. it would be easy to just get the Tarek's vegetarian combo every time, but today I ordered the eggplant parmesan.  It was a roasted piece of eggplant with a tangy tomato sauce and some cheese on top.  Nothing fancy, and I appreciate that it was not deep fried and came with some rice and a bid salad.  The prices were really reasonable, too!

There's no liquor license yet, and I'm sure the kitchen is figuring some kinks out.  The service was super friendly and helpful!  We look forward to heading back soon!

I am an Acadian, and I enjoy my "rapûre" very much so.  Everyone makes it a different way based on particular tastes.  There are really only a few basic ingredients: Potatoes, Chicken Stock, Onion, Chicken, Salt and Pepper.  I ordered it, and I was please, it had a good crust and taste ... but $12+ for it!?  No way!  That's a little too much.
