Review from Laura P.
There is no denying that this shop is a bit of an odd duck. Flurrying past its fake fur fancies too many times to count, I'm unsure what compelled me to explore the inner offerings of 2008 New Century Trading today.
Summertime has arrived, and the shop has put away its animalistic themes for the time being. In its place are a plethora of pashminas in every color of gaudy. Hmm. So things aren't necessarily a home run, but as I flip through the racks of sparkle and excessively adorned apparel, I find a few gems.
There is "A Rose Between Two Thorns" theme going on here. With straight-up tacky gear in the mix, I found some pretty sweet surprises! One being a l-o-v-e-l-y full length trench with an excellent cut and the perfect neckline. I tried it on- the kind sales lady buttoned me up herself, out of the goodness of her own heart. I wasn't entirely convinced my shrimpy frame could pull this look off, but boy was I tempted. It was a brilliant cut and ultra neat-o. The coat only fueled my hunger, and after a bit more peeking, I came across a beautiful maxi dress that would be perfect for BBQ season. Gorgeous fit and flow, and at a mere $20, I was sold.
This shop is all over the place, but there were some spontaneous goodies. I won't be so quick to pass over such places, as my new maxi dress will offer both comfort and style for the upcoming Canada Day weekend. Sweet service and lots of glitz... dig a little deeper and you may find a gem. -
Review from Lacey H.
I don't really know how to approach this review, much like this shop in general.
In Dresdon Row Market you will find an assortment of stores, some of which strike me as kind of odd (2008 New Century Trading being the paradigm of strangeness amongst these).
This store specializes in faux-fur jackets. I find it hard to imagine that their is a large enough niche market in this city to sustain this specialized shop, but hey, I guess everyone loves a teddy-bear coat, right? They also carry purses, sunglasses and a variety of shawls and scarves.
I suppose this type of selection isn't really up my alley, but if it were, then this shop would be great. They have quite a few different designs of the faux-fur variety, ranging in cut and color and texture.
I don't really know what else to say. I guess I'm at a lose for words. If you're in need of a faux-fur bomber jacket then this is the perfect place for you to head. Three stars for originality. Enough said.
