The best buck slab pizza in downtown! The slices are very large and filling with quality ingredients. My favourite is the ham, tomato and swiss cheese - so good! The owner is very friendly and if they don't have the pizza you want in the display case, he will make it for you.

It's not dressed up and the eatery is as cheap as it gets but 2001 flavors aren't skimping when it comes to some pretty great ingredients and a good amount of flavor at a tiny price.

Sorry that sounded a bit much like an add... it's not.

I just dropped by today at lunch and while I'd like a cleaner looking dinning area and presentation, there's a bit of me that really roots for a good ol pizza joint around the corner.
2001 Flavors is that nothing fancy joint that I'll be keeping in mind when down on Pender.

During my vacation stay in Vancouver a while back, my friend and I were getting a bit hungry after a busy day of sight seeing and shopping. It was too late to eat a full meal at a restaurant, plus a lot of places were starting to close.

We walked around looking for something quick to eat and came across 2001 Flavours. We walked in, ordered, and walked out. Super fast service. Seriously, I think from walking and paying we had our food within a minute. Now that's what I call fast food. Now some people will read that and think "food must not have been all that great then" BUT you are oh so wrong. The pizza was super delicious. Maybe I was just hungry, but it was really good. I had the bbq chicken and potato pizza and it was a big slice of chunky chicken and full flavour goodness. Total "NOM" worthy. OH~and for the price it is definitely a steal.

If you're hungry and don't want to spend a lot of money I'd recommend 2001 Flavours.

Grab a hefty slice at this pizza shop on the corner of Pender & Granville, along the oreo line of cheap pizza and sushi spots. If you like big, satisfying-while-eating-it 'nom-nom' pizzas for cheap, this is a great choice!

Chicken BBQ & Potato Pizza, $2.50 (Taxes incl)
Big, chunky, and fully loaded with greasy goodness.

It's a wee bit more $ than other pizza parlors, but also much bigger with more toppings - well worth it! 3.5 out of 5 because I can definitely see the draw even though quick greasy pizza isn't my thing.

    What's more:
    - Regular, Cheese and Garlic, $1.75-$2.00
    - Daily Featured Specialty Pizzas, $2.50
    - Super friendly staff
    - Seated area with tables, quite warm, stacked with The Straight

Why pay more for pizza when there are tons of $0.99 or $1.25 pizzas all over town?

It's DAMN GOOD pizza that's why!  The toppings in terms of quality and quantity far surpasses those other pizza joints.  Their pizza flavours are unique and the dough is perfect.

IF this place was an actual restaurant, I would eat here for dinner.
    Pizza and beer.

I stopped in here for a quick slice with school buddies the other day because of all their little newspaper articles on the window and the fact that they had some veggie slices that seemed fresher than the ones at the pizza joint right next door.

There was a special for 2 slices and a pop for $4 something, but for some reason it didn't apply to any of the veggie slices I wanted. Apparently because they have to use more cheese in place of the meat it doesn't count. Um.... stupid.

Since I didn't want to keep forcing my friends to follow me around until I was happy I just settled and went with a tomato garlic slice.

The first 2 bites were awesome with TONS of garlic, but about halfway through I found myself struggling to finish it. I don't know how that happened, but it got really really bland, really fast. It was kinda dry too.

I'll give 2001 Flavours one more chance..

It is rare that I walk by somewhere and the scent of fresh food makes me turn around automatically but mmmm this place does it for me !!  A recent discovery of mine and certainly one of the best pizza joints in town, be it by the slice for 1.75$ (the price went up by 25 cents) or a whole wheel, you wont be disappointed. Make sure when you get them by the slice that you pick a fresh one or alternatively they will either offer to warm it up or just ask for it should they forget. Really delicious!

They have a combo of 2 slices and a pop for 4.75$, well considering that comes to 1.25$ for the drink it's not really a special price but so be it. They do have 'special of the day' pizzas though that are really worth checking out.

It is considerably small inside though there are some tables and a railing with chairs. Parking is on the street and of course more or less convenient depending on the time of the day. During lunch and afternoon hours it is seemingly popular with students who are usually the best probants (talking from own experience).

AFAIK this place does not deliver so be prepared to pick it up should you get a larger order for your circle of friends. It is worth the walk/drive!!

Enjoy it or I will do it for you!! ;-)

    Cheers

Woohoo!!!! My wife, who is one of the pickiest eaters I've ever known, sent me out for pizza our first night in Vancouver. On top of being picky, she's also from Queens, NY, so she knows good pizza from decent pizza and has educated me in the same.

2001 Flavors was pretty dang good pizza! The prices were reasonable, the cheese and sauce were very tasty, and the crust was properly thin with just a little bit of crunch and a little bit of chewy at the same time. Was it a New York slice? Well, no, sadly nothing outside of New York has ever quite measured up. I think it's the water, but I will say that the pie we got from 2001 Flavors was arguably one of the top 5 we've had outside of the big apple.

All in all the wife was pleased, and when she's happy, I'm happy (and the inverse is also true), so I'm definitely a fan!

Friendly staff, quick service, and easy walking distance to our hotel made us want a second visit. Sadly, we planned our trip poorly, right in the middle of the Thanksgiving holiday, and they were closed, but I will definitely be stopping by again the next time I make it up to beautiful BC!

The best cheap pizza in the vicinity of Seymour and Pender (and that is not a distinction to sneeze at, there are 6 pizza by the slice joints within a block of this corner).

Their pesto slice used to be my guilty treat on rare visits downtown. Then I got a job around the corner. A coworker and I had to institute once-a-week pizza days to stop ourselves from gorging here. Through that tradition, we tried all the other slice options, so I know of what I speak when I say they're the best. Crust. Toppings. Sauce. Cheese. All of it.

Other great slices: garlic, anything with hot peppers, veggie creations with an assortment of toppings.

Pizza and Pender- the two go together like...pepperoni and mushrooms, warm crust and melted cheese, ham and pineapple.  mmm....hungry

I got two pieces here.  Which was much more than I needed- my eyes were bigger than my stomach today.  With 2001 choices, it's hard to just pick one.  Actually they had only about 7 different pizzas available when I came in at 1.  This place was packed, not a single chair was empty.  I grabbed the last pepperoni, and then gave in and got a bbq chicken slice as well.

The pepperoni was good.  There's not a lot to say about it- but the pepperoni had a good flavor with some spice to it.  The bbq chicken had potatoes on it (the reason I was so easily tempted by it), it was really tasty, except I thought there was a bit too much bbq sauce on it.  Kind of overwhelming for my tastebuds.

Is this place better than all the other pizza places next door and across the street?  Not necessarily, but I can say if you go during the lunch hours- you'll definitely get something fresh, because these slices are selling fast.

I think this is the place I want to review? There are like 3 places on the same block that look exactly the same.

The pizza is pretty good and since they get a lot of traffiic, it's usually pretty fresh. At 3.50 for 2 slices you can't complain anyways. It's in a very busy area but I have always gotten a seat. This place may not be as good as Uncle Fatih's but it gets the job done.

Also note that you can get garlic crust if you pay a dollar more.

Best budget pizza out there.  I'm usually there on Sat., so I usually get the capicollo / cheddar / mushroom special.  Line ups do occur, but usually good turnaround.  The ingredients are good and everything looks pretty fresh.  The owner is sometimes there and is usually pretty cheerful.  I think they also donate some of the older slices to the homeless.  So good on em.

The name sounds like it's an ice cream shop. And they don't have actually have 2,001 flavours, nor is it all that futuristic. What they do have is very good, cheap pizza. It's generally a couple of bucks and change for a slice with a few toppings, rather than the $1.50 that's on the signs. However, unlike other buck-a-slice type pizza places, they use lots of good quality ingredients, i.e. actual slices of pepperoni rather than those little chunks you sometimes see.

There are a couple of tables and a counter for eating in. When it gets busy, you'll recognize this place by the lineup out the door at noon, and the happy people standing on the sidewalk eating their economical and tasty pizza lunch.

Most people have no idea what this place is called, but its been in that location for as long as I've lived in Vancouver. It used to be one of the seemingly worst pizza places back 10 years ago but somewhere along the way their quality has gone up, while the quality across downtown has plummeted with the rise of Megabite and Fresh Slice. Where those slices are horrible, lack any taste other than that of burnt meat and grease, 2001 Flavours is the best and most reliable cheap slice in town. The place is big enough so you can actually sit down on rainy days, the staff are ridiculously friendly some days, variety is there, rarely dealing with dried out slices, and who can argue with the prices.

Honestly have no idea why anyone even bothers going to the places near by considering the "quality" comparatively. Keep in mind that it's probably a mean thing to do to yourself too often given that this is still a street-style slice loaded with grease.. so don't do it too often. If you've got a big more budget and less interested in the getting full aspect, highly recommend Goldie's down the street.... more $ but its the best walk-up slice in town.

2001 Flavours also has a daily special, so keep an eye out for them

This place is my favorite pizza place on Earth! It may not have a fancy or spotless interior, but the quality of their pizza and their unmatched customer service for a pizza joint totally makes up for this small shortcoming. As their name suggests, they have many, many types of pizzas, all topped with FRESH ingredients. Some of you might be wondering, "wait, aren't you vegan? You can't have pizza cos it has cheese!" WRONG! This pizza joint makes me a slice of vegan pizza (all veggies and NO Cheese) upon request, AND the owner only charge me $1.50 for it too! That's amazing because their standard slices are $1.50 and their daily specials are $2.25. The owner and his staff are very good about just making ONE cheeseless slice for me, -their slices are big, so one slice usually suffice, so I'm more than happy to wait about 15 minutes for it to come out of the oven. My twin tells me that the owner, Glen, asks about me from time to time when she gets a slice of pizza. I find that it's very awesome that he remembers me, which is why I always make a point of visiting his shop every time I'm in Vancouver!

For quality pizza and exceptional customer service, definitely check this place out! I'll obviously be going back! This place is one of the main reason why I LOVE Beautiful British Columbia!

Whenever I visit downtown Vancouver I'm always quietly trying to figure out how I can make sure that 2001 Flavors is 'on the way'. Seriously, this is hands down the best pizza I've had in Vancouver (although as someone else mentioned the competition is mostly Fresh Slice and Megabite - soo bad). The owner is a diamond, works his ass off but always looks out for his customers. The specials are well worth the extra few cents, so go on splash out!

best pizza to price ration in vancouver, quality factored in.  tip: if you see a pizza that's been sitting there that you like, but it's been sitting there for a while, ask them to warm it up for you.  good as new.
