After a horrifically painful cleaning experience had me avoid the dentist for over a year (I'm sensitive about these things), I decided to try this one.

I found all of the staff friendly and pleasant. The hygienist barely touched my gums when she did the pointy-thing part of my cleaning, which is a point (ha) of importance for me after nearly having them gouged away by a previous hygienist. The dentist soothingly praised me for having great teeth and fantastic bone structure despite having two cavities, which is reassuring like a mother telling you you're still brilliant despite flunking math.

I'll come back here for the heedful hygienist and pleasant staff. Until they do something to begrudge me which isn't hard for dentists to do to me since screwing up my mouth is a little more serious than, say, forgetting mushrooms on a pizza.

I have only been here twice and it was back in February of 2008. The appointment started out with a usually cleaning and then it was time to see the dentist.
The doctor was doctor Dwayne Olatonade and is probably one of the best dentists I have seen. He found a cavity that was very small and probably very hard to see and he told me that he did it by touch with I thought was pretty cool and it showed me that he was extremely through with the exam.

He also noticed that in some areas of my mouth the gum tissue was a little lower then normal but he told me that It was not that big of a deal but something I should keep my eye on. I really appreciated this because I know some dentists would have said that I needed to get a gum graft done.

I made a second appointment to get the cavity taken care of and I could not believe how easy it was. This was my first cavity so I was not sure what to expect but he did such a great job and there was no freezing that needed to be done because Dr. Olatonade said it was so small and I did not need any.

There are a few things that I noticed however after my visits.

I am not sure why but the one thing I hate about the going to the dentist is the fluoride treatment and because I hate it so much I usually do not get it done.

I noticed after my first appointment that the fluoride treatment was put on my invoice.  I called up the office and explained to them that I did not get it done and they took care of it without a problem.

The other thing that I noticed is that there are new dentists there. My sister went here before I did and she got a dentist that she really liked but that dentist is no longer there.

I also have noticed that Dr. Olatonade is no longer there as well.

I was pretty happy with 17th ave dental expect for the fluoride treatment on my invoice which was not that big of a deal. I believe that the dentists and other staff at this dental office are very good as well.

After a drawn out conversation with ownership and the management at all 3 locations. It became entirely obvious that I was not going to be able to "Have Dental Choice service me anytime soon" as I was told. Appointment times seemed to be months away for a customer like me.

I took the high road and asked for complete refunds from the $100.00 and the Groupon debacle.

I had no issues with the dental services I received, but the administration was another thing for me.

As I said, full refund, gets you a 4 star....+1 star from before....really a 5 star experience depending on how you look at it.
