Review from Eva H.
I had lunch here and the fish dish was delicious. I started off the meal with a butternut squash like soup, light and soothing on a cold winter day. Then the main course was a pan fried fish with a fruity sauce (wish I could remember the fruit, but it definitely had pureed mango in it) and then I had a cheesecake after, which was very creamy. I would absolutely dine here again if i'm ever in town again. The area is gorgeous, although a little touristy, but definitely worth the trip.

Had a great lunch at this spot today while visiting Quebec City.
The layout of the restaurant tends to be confusing. There is the outside terrace, very attractive with the red umbrellas. There is also two different restaurants inside (1640 Bistro and 1640 Fine cuisine). They charge more inside and the menu gets more upscale at Fine cuisine. We were very apprehensive at first that this would turn into a tourist trap. After reading all 3 menus, the fine cuisine sounded more appealing to us.
Food was delicious. We both ordered from the Menu du midi. Started out with the soup (bland broccoli) and salad. Apps weren't that interesting. The entrees however were banging! Had Quebec's pork filet with hot goat cheese and maple syrup. My fiancee had the filet Mignon. The syrupy sauce, which we both had included sweet peppers, cucumbers, and carrot... soooo delicious. Ingredients felt very fresh. Meats very well cooked.
Pork Filet turned out to be $16
Filet Mignon $20
All include. soup, apps, and dessert (creamy cheesecake) as well as coffee and tea. Don't forget to add Quebec + Canadian taxes. Yes they tax you twice (ugh!) -

Delicious food served right!
Despite all the other restaurant on the block this one was the only one with guests!
When I came here it was still early, so they were serving breakfast until 1130am. I ordered a eggs Benedict on top of a croissant drizzled in hollandaise sauce with an apple pastry and fruit on the side! OMG! I have never had such an amazing meal in my life!
If you're in the area definitely check it out! You will NOT be disappointed! -

We had lunch here our first day in old Quebec. Great location. This place is just below the frontenac. felt touristy but not surprised by that given where it is. Had a simple meal - Mediterranean salad and split a pizza with the little one. Would come again. Probably better for lunch than dinner.

I just arrived in Quebec and stopped here by happenstance. I was alone and sat at the bar. Rodolphe was my bartender. What a great guy. He is from Bordeaux and is bilingual though I tried to speak French most of the time. I had the onion soup and the lobster. Both excellent dishes. Rodolphe recommended the "Homard". Great choice. A very enjoyable first experience in Quebec. A beautiful City.

We expected a lot more from this restaurant. Right in the heart of Old Quebec City, the menu will run you about $50 per person for dinner and drink, so its not cheap, we expected way better food. Took about an hour to get our food. Lobster was dry, lasagna was dry and re-heated. Our waiter showed he was not happy with the quality of the food also. The service was good, but the food was 3 star at a 4.5 star price. Would not repeat.
