This was seriously incredible.
You probably know the drill but to recap: you get a group of people together, you call Todd, he sets you up with a night in his place, and he makes you an epic, epic 6 course meal.
Todd's hilariously awesome. He's like a mix between a hipster and Gordon Ramsay. But so, so chill. The nicest guy and cares so much about the food.
Seriously, every course was made to perfection. There wasn't one thing I demolished. Maybe that was because each person at my table had about 1.5 bottles of wine to themselves, but I'd say that was only part of it.
I believe it's donation, but I'd say $60+ for sure. And of course, you byob.
Just go.
It's such an amazing, unique experience. I would even deem it fresh to death, and I don't just go around deeming things phrases from the 90s. -

So much to say about 12b...
For one, a most memorable evening, in every detail.
I'd never done something quite like this.
Dinner was planned a few weeks ago...when an elusive email was sent out to a few co-workers about a place, 12b. It was for our boss' birthday. We were to specify food issues and allergies and limit our table to 10. An address would follow closer to the date, but I was told we'd be served by a private chef, in a private home...and I was game.
I arrived with a couple bottles of red in hand and was greeted by Todd, gladly holding the door open for me and introducing himself. I like a nice welcoming.
I settled in with my friends and some wine and (contrary to what I'd imagined) felt completely at home. Likely had something to do with the industrial design, communal benches and colourful graffiti art....something I miss from my life back in TO and NYC.
When Todd came to tell us about our first course I was taken in even more. Delicious locally-sourced ingredients lavishly combined to make taste-bud shattering plate after plate. He served 5 courses to us each and managed different tastes (and food issues) effortlessly.
Someone in our group had to remind us we'd been there for 4 hours, otherwise I wouldn't have known it.
I'd love to come back but there is a hitch....you have to reserve your party...and months in advance I'm told. It would be well worth the wait.Listed in: Finding My Happy Place

Review from Vanessa G.
When my friend said we would be eating some fabulous food made by a private chef, i thought it was a dream come true.. and it was. The set menu was a bit worrisome to me initially because i am severely picky.. but it's' like he read my mind. Everything was utterly perfect. Every dish was utterly delicious and melted in mouth, and then was followed by another dish that just topped the last dish.
I didn't expect the space to be as cool as it was.. decorated with local art i wish i had.. plus tons of mirrors.. a narcissist's dream!
You bring your own booze and music.. this is the way i want every party to be. Me and 10 of my friends with fabulous food and drinks.
Now you try and find out how to book yourself a party.. that's the trick ;)Listed in: Main St. Bites
